For me, the mood changes are #1 worse peri menopause symptom. I’m 53 and still having regular cycle. The anxiety gets so bad I want to cry and vomit at the same time, for no good reason! I feel like I’m coming out of my skin! All that adrenaline and cortisol also prevents me from sleeping..I never knew a human could get along with so little sleep. My thyroid is normal. I’m on a combination HRT patch. It took away the hot flashes and night sweats, but it has no effect on the anxiety or sleep. I go through periods of depression as well. I can’t cope with the slightest bit of stress or stimulation. I isolate myself and avoid all social situations. Sitting in a quiet space and limiting any stimulation other than the task I’m focused on is my best medicine. I had to leave my high stress job because I was unable to cope. I now work from home with a flexible schedule which has been a Godsend. I suspect my adrenals are out of whack. I eat well, exercise, take appropriate supplements. I cannot take SSRIS due to side effects. I recently started Ashwagandha which I think is helping take edge off the intensity of the anxiety and tension. My body aches and extreme fatigue come and go. This is a great channel, thank you! Just knowing I’m not alone is very therapeutic! Hugs to all!

I'm also a cold water fan too thanks to the marvelous Wim Hof. I need to get back into swimming or at least having a dip and a float all year round but that and breath work helps keep me calm as well as meditating or guided meditation. Turmeric is excellent and works within days if you have inflammation. I had some psoriatic arthritis flare-ups a few years ago and was suffering from inflammation and did a bit of research about natural treatments as the Doctor here just left me to it and the heat in my left knee went within about 2 days and didn't come back. The only thing you have to be aware of is it's a blood thinner and so you have to check with your GP before taking it. It also has to be turmeric with black pepper or it doesn't get absorbed into the body properly if not.

@AvogelCoUk3 жыл бұрын
Hi Burning upper chest can sometimes be caused by either costochondritis (do you get discomfort/pain when breathing deeply - this could be caused by the menopause?) or some kind of lung infection and both may affect the back too. Unfortunately, the only way to know for sure would be to get a check up with your doctor, sorry. Best Wishes Eileen

Hi I realized your comment was a year ago but I am so happy to find someone I can relate to. I started getting anxiousness out of the blue towards the end of august so about 2 1/2 months ago. Then some days I noticed I would feel a bit down like now happy. I don’t even know why so thought I was going crazy. Now I’m beginning to think it is due to peri menopause. I didn’t connect the dot cause I think I have been in perimenopause now for a few years. I just don’t know why it would hit me now. Maybe cause I worry a lot when I got Covid? I’m not sure. I don’t like the feeling when the anxiety or low mood would hit. It is not everyday. When it doesn’t hit, I feel like myself and happy but when it hits I get a burning sensation in chest and back and would get low mood like joyless feeling and I would feel like I can’t be by myself due to fear of being alone. It is very strange.

Hi Amy For most women, symptoms do ease over time, however, if you are really struggling then other health issues may be a factor. Low iron, underactive thyroid function, low vitamin D and B12 and fibromyalgia can all creep in at the menopause and cause similar symptoms. It may be wise to ask your doctor to test for these just to rule them out. They are all treatable and could make a big difference quickly for you. Best Wishes Eileen

I was diagnosed with perimenopause. I'm 49 and am looking forward to menopause completely stopping my periods, which I hope are before age 50 because I've been menstruating since age 12. God please take the pain away. I have hot flashes sometimes, insomnia, heart palpitations, dehydration, cramps, weight gain, heavy periods that last 7 days. I thought females are not to menstruate more than 30 years? I've menstruated for 37 years now. When will it end?
@AvogelCoUk Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, it's really difficult to say when it will end as it is different for every woman. When you stop periods, it's often more due to how many eggs you were born with rather than when you started periods, sorry. The average age to start the menopause is 45-55 so you are in the normal age range for this to happen at some point. Hopefully, it won't be too long for you. Best Wishes Eileen

hoping your still reply to these. My worst symptom by far is the Anxiety. I never dealt with this before. I am 1.5 years without a period and wanting to discontinue antidepressants. (I haven't yet) but this new symptom has come on....Anxiety. I feel like I am going crazy. I want to cry for no reason or maybe because I feel crazy and hopeless. It feels like extreme worry or doom, but I have no reason to feel this way so I can only guess it is hormones. I want a way to treat it successfully without taking drugs or hormones. I am not against taking more natural supplements.

Thank you so much for all the work you do and congratulations on joining the GenM organization. I'm in Canada and we don't have anything like that yet. One question I have for you is, do you ever recommend body identical HRT? I have been following you and I don't think I have seen any of your videos talking about body identical HRT. I understand using the right dose and the right combination could really not only help with symptoms but also prevent very serious illnesses like cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis and dementia. What is your take on this topic?
@AvogelCoUk3 жыл бұрын
Hi Adriana Thank you for watching from so far away, hopefully, more and more countries will follow suit! Here in the UK, we are under strict control of what we can and cannot recommend on our KZbin channel. Medications such as HRT and Bio-Identicals can only be prescribed by healthcare professionals such as doctors, nurses etc.so we can't really comment in detail. All we do suggest is that, if you are interested in these forms of medication, you do plenty of research and discuss thoroughly with your doctor re length of time you can take it, any potential side effects and what may happen if you stop taking it. I do know many women, including myself, who have not taken any form of HRT during the menopause and are now leading a super healthy, happy life. It is hard work though and not every woman has the means nor time to do this and for them HRT, in any form, can make such a difference to their quality of life. Best Wishes Eileen

@@AvogelCoUk Thank you so much Eileen for taking the time to reply to my question. I really appreciate it! I am currently managing my symptoms in a more natural way. I am taking Vitex Combo tincture, Estrovera and Brain Mood mainly for my Menopause symptoms and I have felt pretty stable with some days really good and others not so much but manageable in general. For health support, I take my magnesium, iron and probiotics in addition to a mainly healthy and nutritional balanced eating life style. I do yoga, meditation and exercise (walking and sometimes HIIT). My main concern is the prevention part in the areas of cardiovascular, bone and brain health which deteriorate so much when we lose our estrogen as well as the progesterone and in some cases testosterone. I will discuss with my obgyn during my next appointment. Thanks again for the wonderful job you are doing and all your help and support you provide on your videos 🙏💕. Lots of love from Canada!!

Hi Adriana Sounds like you're doing all the right things, which is great. Yes, bones, heart and brain health do need supporting post menopause. Looking after yourself well, minimum stress and regular (increasing heartbeat) exercise can all be really beneficial ongoing. I've never been on HRT and am probably fitter and healthier than I was pre-menopause; bone density and heart health absolutely fine! :) Best Wishes Eileen

@@AvogelCoUk I appreciate your words, Eileen. I try to be as consistent as possible with keeping up with the different routines and supplements. Some days are really good and some others a bit different but I am learning to just go with the flow and do the best to stay healthy in all aspects.

Is having acid reflux one of them and dry throat?
@AvogelCoUk3 ай бұрын
Hi These are both quite common symptoms often due to falling oestrogen affecting digestion and causing the tissue in the throat to dry. You may find a supplement called Sea Buckthorn can ease the throat and taking a Bitter Herb such as Centuarium can ease reflux Best Wishes Eileen

Hi Linda I have posted a video blog on burning and what you can do to help yourself so please do take a look www.avogel.co.uk/health/menopause/videos/3-menopause-burning-sensations-and-what-causes-them/ Pins and needles/tingling can be caused by a number of factors such as low vitamin D, diabetes, heart disease, low vitamin B12 or even low magnesium so this is one best checked by your doctor first, to get a proper diagnosis. @aliciaq703 жыл бұрын
Me too , I thought it was hunger but it can't be ,because I ate well.
@AvogelCoUk3 жыл бұрын
Hi Patricia Yes, this can happen. Either low or high stomach acid can appear and both can cause burning. If food breakdown in the stomach is poor, this can also result in belly bloating. You may find taking a 'Stomach Bitter' such as Centaurium can be of benefit but if this doesn't help then it is wise to check with your doctor. Best Wishes Eileen
