I'm 56..I overdid the exercise from Jan-May and by June I couldn't walk 50 yards. I thought I could rest my knee for 2 weeks but that didn't work. By July I thought I was doomed to knee replacement. It's now Sep 22, here's what helped me the most(lowest to highest): 5. 600mg Ibuprofen 2x a day - low to medium success. 4. Lying down/rest with brace - low to medium success. 3. Drinking 2 or 3 alcoholic drinks before bed - Medium to High success, woke up with much less pain. 2. Knee exercise, mainly me lying down grabbing knee and stretching - High success. 1. Changing eating habits, reduce sugar intake - High success, this surprised me the most but the effect was almost immediate. I was completely shocked that reducing sugar made my knee feel so much better so quickly. I now eat keto twice a day, noon and 8PM and I doubt I'll ever kneed a knee replacement.

Keto saved me from a knee replacement too. And I discovered if I cheated and had dessert [any thing with sugar] I would get leg cramps that night while trying to sleep. Sugar is a poison!

@@cartmansuperstar I'd try to cut any/all carbs for a week to see if there's any change in pain level. One year later I still have a little knee pain but it doesn't keep me from doing anything. My best suggestion is high protein, low fat, carbs via all types of vegetables. I watch of YT videos by Athlean-X, he seems to have a lot of the right answers about exercise and nutrition.

@@erichaynes7502 thanks for answering so far. May i ask, whether you had any diagnosis or was it just knee-pain suddenly appearing? did your knees hurt before? and are you limited in strength-training right now? Good, that you found sth that worked for you.

Several miles several times a week, but I am always in pain. Tomorrow I'm going back to a knee doctor to see what the heck is going on because it just seems ridiculous. And in my family, arthritis is definitely genetic. Even my son who's only 30 has the painful thumb joint. My sister had surgery on that joint in her mid 50s and mine hurts all the time. Maybe you could do a video about that!

Regenerative medicine should be the go to at this stage. Knee cartilage resurfacing and regeneration is possible you just have to seek out the right doctors. There are a number of clinical stage three and four trials nearing completion for this tech So many ortho doctors and medical device companies have cosy relationships. According to research 80 percent of knee replacements aren't even necessary and the damage can now be mostly regenerated even if you're bone on bone. Do your research and find out for yourself.

I had a great rapport with my husband's doctor but it turned out the surgeon was a great conversationalist and a poor surgeon; Got banned from surgery because he nicked a woman's artery during surgery, she lost a lot of blood, the leg lost circulation and she had to have her leg amputated above the knee. A few years before that happened, he had to re-do the ACL replacement on my husband's knee because it snapped; it was too tight. After the second surgery, there was also a lot of blood, so much that the post op splint and all the bandages slid off his leg, soaked in blood. Surgery is not a simple permanent fix, do all you can to avoid it. This was the recommendation of my Grandfather, who was in fact, a highly recognized and competent orthopedic surgeon. My aunt's friend had her leg amputated after knee replacement because of on going infection. Another friend broke her leg at the replacement and that caused her to fall. Knee replacement is not something to hope for.

Hyalogic brand Hyaluronic Acid. A dropper a day keeps the pain away. I put it under my tongue. I also use it topically on my knuckles. It helps to restore the cushioning fluid (synovial fluid) around our joints. Give it a try.

Im 36 and i have been having issues with my knee for couple of months now and i have talked to my doctor about it. She explained what was happening and said it was common also. I take dance classes and go up and down stairs in my home and work with young children which includes getting really low and back up again. When i am exercising besides the dance classes could i be just putting to much on it? Now my weight by itself hurts when i walk and give out sometimes that i almost fell down the stairs one time. What do you suggest?
