Can native English speakers pass the IELTS test? - Leeds, UK 🇬🇧
In this video, Lewis @englishwithlewis and I hit the streets of Leeds to ask the average English person IELTS speaking questions to see if they can pass the test or not! In other words, get the top mark of 9!
The topic of this test is "Social Media"
The IELTS test is for people who want to move or study in an English speaking country such as the UK, Australia, Canada etc. The IELTS test contains all four skills: listening, reading, writing and spaking.
Now, the speaking part of the test has 3 sections....
PART 1 - general questions about yourself / topics about hobbies, work, neighbourhood etc.
Part 2 - in this section, you are given a card asking you to describe something, you have one minute to prepare your answer, and then you must speak for a minimum of 2 minutes. In other words, a mini speech!
Part 3 - an academic discussion, similar to debates at school or university.
Also, for anyone who doesnt know, Leeds is located in the North East of England, roughly 1 hour from Manchester by train, and is famous for its historic football team and friendly people!
Let me know in the comments if you have any questions about the IELTS exam or even about the city of Leeds!
Don't forget to write down any of the native english expressions that appeared on the screen, they will help you to get a better score on the IELTS test as well as making you sound more like a native when you have conversations in English!
