Incredible, Tate! Your playing is great, but I'm am really in awe of your sound. It is so perfect for this music. It's so refined, and it is obvious that it is the result of many long years of dedicated work. I could listen to this all day.

Well thank you Eric! That's high praise because I could not listen to this all day hahahaha. Like most of my recordings I'm not completely happy with this one. The recorder picked up a lot of secondary noises like my right arm rubbing on the guitar body and string noise and such. I actually think I like the recording without reverb better. But, yes, I work hard on tone production without nails. It's a constant learning process (just like playing with nails).

@@tateharmann3057 I will say that, when my recordings have incidental noises in them, it bothers me. When I hear them in other people's recordings, however, I actually like it a little. It makes me fee like I am listening to live music, in a way. It reminds me that it's a real person who played it.

@@ericphillips7057 That definitely makes sense and I feel like I'm the same way. I also try to remember that the master guitarists of times past that I love listening to on vinyl/shellac performed less than "perfect" according to modern standards. And besides inherent record noise there's usually lots of other noise going on haha. We are obsessed with perfection in performance these days, it would seem. I like to think that it doesn't affect me but I know it does :/

Wow, this was so wonderful!! Great playing and such incredibly beautiful sound! Bravo Tate! I really like the warm colorful sound of the trebles and the smoothness of the bass string . I don´t like so much the modern metallic sound of standard basses. This piece is also one of my favorites by Llobet and is on my list of pieces I want to work on. Thanks for sharing! Best regards Stefan

Thank you, sir! I really appreciate it...you should work this one up it's really worth the effort. These silk basses sound so so good, but there are trade-offs like intonation with them can get a little crazy as you go up the fretboard. It's worth the trade-off IMHO :) and you can work with them by slightly tuning them lower than bang on the pitch in the open position...that's what I do

Nice work, Tate! Seems I missed this one. I liked the no reverb version too, thanks for linking it. Those harmonics were also an obstacle to me. I started learning this one and then basically stopped once I reached that part, ha ha, but maybe I should look at it again because that was back in 2020.

Hey Josh, thanks! Yes you should give it another look. Honestly, I'd always started and stopped this one for a decade or more because of those harmonics. This time I told myself that I was going to learn it no matter what and those harmonics turn out to be not nearly as bad as they look. I memorized the harmonic section separately and it's nice that it actually has a bit of repetition. Go for it!
