Using the Damp Rid now in the wet/snowy season is a great idea. When you get into the Midwest and it is frozen but dry, you can air Clementine out every day - the mold REALLY doesn't like those conditions! Love your optimism, keep on truckin', guys!
@delukxy11 ай бұрын
Mould likes food and sweat so when you eat in the car those tiny squirts and crumbs make good eating. That mould was pretty minor. The "strut" you showed was one of the new rear shocks. They should help make the ride a little better. The start problem might be the ignition switch. If it is the original best to replace it. Shouldn't be too expensive.

Next time you park either Clementine or Ruby... you should put in there a tub of dessicant to absorb moisture to keep the interiors as dry as they can be.

So good to see Clementine fixed up and back on the road again. Hoping it would only cost hundreds was just a dream, since even basic maintenance on my car costs quite a bit, even when nothing is actually broken. Funny thing is, last time I took it into the dealer for an oil change, they wanted to buy it on the spot (and obviously sell me a new, much more expensive vehicle) I told them, no way, I very much like not having a car payment.

Everything with cars costs tremendously here (as you saw with your Uber costs). Seattle's great, but man is it expensive. At least your mechanic sounds like he knows what he is doing. I wish you no more problems in your RV! It would certainly be nice if you got to explore the beautiful parts of Washington State and not just it's expensive bits. Your starting issue may be caused by lack of fuel to the engine. After setting for a wile it may be necessary to turn on the key and weight till the electric fuel pump stops buzzing then crank the engine. If it starts then with out hesitation that is what is going on. Just remember to repeat that process after it has sat for a while. It will be alright.

Hey guys, not to be the internet back seat driver but this time when you all went to turn Clementine on I noticed you held the key in the start position for a very short period. Is this how you normally start? It could perhaps help your starting issue to put the gas pedal once before you attempt the start and told the ignition/key in the start position for a bit longer. Most starters are ok being held in the start position for something like 30 seconds (I know an absolute eternity). If you’re holding it for more than like 3 seconds there’s usually a bigger issue. Just a tidbit. Good luck!

I need help with my van. 2 years ago, we bought a 1985 dodge camper van that turned out to be in pretty bad shape. It was really difficult to find a garage that would work on it, and when we did, the guys assured us they could handle the repairs/engine rebuild. They were going along ok at first, but after a few months passed, for some reason the mechanics quit and the shop closed, leaving my van unfinished. I had to find another garage to try to fix the rest of what wasn't complete. They did bare minimum to get it running, but we are worried about the work that was done, being done correctly and there are still some other issues that need to be addressed. I can't call it reliable to go very far in yet. I am desperate to find a GOOD mechanic that can help us get the final work done. I put about 15k into this van so far, its sad that we live in a world where people will just take your money and leave you in the lurches. I am in North East Texas near Tyler, if anyone knows a REAL mechanic I could try I would love to know about it.

When you park the RV up for any length of time I suggest that you put it in 2nd gear and don’t apply the handbrake, it’s quite usual for the brake shoes to virtually rust onto the drum/disc and it can be a real pain to free them off.
