This is interesting, but i cant imagine hustling every single day to make money. I still prefer a standard office job. Cos i know im not the hustling and constant job hunting type. 😢

Isn’t the best part time work being a tuition teacher? I heard average rates 20-30$ per hour which is btr than all the rates here

In other countries where there are social and retirement welfare covered by the state, such gig ,temp jobs can be done till one reaches to their 50 or even 60. But don't try this sort of stunt,especially at her age in HIGH COST of living like Singapore.

this program is useless, the problem is not the earnings, but how to get so many part time jobs?
@rainydaycoffee1451Күн бұрын
GURL you have no idea how timely this is because my corporate job is so suffocating I literally dream of what it'll be like to do gigs as a living... Getting to meet new people, experience new things, and most importantly the flexibility of not being stuck under a single job/boss.... Really sounds like a dream to me!! Stability is too overrated in Singapore. Yes, money, but at what cost? Mental health, losing that spark in life? It's so refreshing to see alternative ways of earning incomes, and I really respect people for choosing this road less traveled. Success looks different to everyone, it doesn't always have to be a stable income and climbing the corporate ladder. If you can feed yourself, what's wrong with that? It's still a respectable job and actually a needed one that contributes to other people. TLDR, thank you for doing this vid! You've lived out my What If and showed me it's actually possible to survive on gigs, should I ever need to make that jump. 🫡

Change your full time job. Don't jump to doing side gigs. It's not sustainable. I say this as someone who did this twice, once because I just wanted to try, the second time was because I needed to take care of my family. The instability of it all can take a toll on your mental health too.

Feeding yourself alone is fine but not when you got aging parents to take care of. Your corporate job provide those additional parent care leaves and your gig job won't.

Make sure to have safety net like having enough money before you dive in gigs for a living. Nowadays, gigs are competitive and not easy to get unless you have skills that can finish a task very fast. I agree with Mamemo here that it's better to change full time job. Coz it pays stable every month and still pays you even when you have nothing to do. There are dry times like you don't get a gig order for one month or even more. I used to work as food delivery Grab cyclist. The pays were very good during CB. 6 to 8 hours were enough to earn $150+ a day. But now pay is very bad and you have to work for more than 12 hours everyday. I stopped working for Grab and switched to full time job when businesses started to open up to public a few years ago.

Just ensure you think & plan before you jump k. Must have safety net. Dont go in blindly. Like the rest here have shared.

Well, everyone prioritizes things differently. To some, flexibility and/or new experiences is more important than stability, money and job progression. I feel as long as they aren't just rotting their lives away, not working or contributing in any ways, let them live their lives they desire.

I used to work corporate job. I think it's fine but off days feel like not off days, as i wasnt motivated to do anything but just sleep my day away due to exhaustion, without a full time i feel like my earnings=my hardwork i put in, i work corporate job 4 years no pay increase, plus gst went up, makes me stressed lol that, even with corporate job i also end up doing extra part-time for extra income.
