I would recommend putting your graphs on the same scale and overlaying them to illustrate the difference in year to year improvement in a way that will make it clear what happened back in 1988 and how close Shelly Ann and Elaine are at the moment.

How insane for Joyner to set a WR (.3 lower then previous record) and it still stands even though since training techniques have progressed, computer analytics are used to fine-tune athletes and shoes arent even in the same ballpark as Joyner used...

Regardless of the win gage thing, I’m 50/50 on that, we should have already have acknowledged ETH as the WR holder. And every non American homer knows why. Joyner did not progress at .04 per year. She was the epitome of 11.0 for 7 years or so before 10.49. Her best times during that times per year were 10.96 to 11.04. Then she pops off a 10.49. Do y’all think the 400 and 800 are legit? Come on guys.

tbh i wouldn't consider ETH for the world record if you want to get an actually shot at the world record you would need a start like SFP and be able to have the top end of ETH perfect form and the right running conditions now ETH has ran 10.54 i still wouldn't consider her a world record holder there still much she can improve on.....

She was working 2 jobs to pay bills... Then she married an olympic gold medalist, quit her side hustles re-focused 100% on sprinting, changed coaches to one of the greatest coaches of all time... A lot of drastic changes all at once...it would be shocking to NOT see a drastic change in performance... And btw, what was Shericka Jackson's pb in the 200 before she suddenly dropped a 21.55? What was SAFP pb in the 100 the year before she won her first gold medal? If you believe big improvement is impossible then be consistent in your belief ..

Shelly Ann's 100m pb in 2007 was 11.31....the next year she won the Olympics in 10.78 But you don't complain about that do you? Then she was a consistent 10.7x runner until she got a sudden burst of speed as she reaches retirement age and it suddenly dropped to 10.60 You probably don't have a problem with that either Of course you might say Shelly was young in 2007, it's reasonable for her to improve her 100m time by 0.53 seconds in 1 year... but that's why I also mentioned Shericka who is having the breakthrough season of her life at age 28, the same age Flo Jo had her breakthrough season It's either innocent until proven guilty, or automatically assumed guilty based on going from good to great... Just be consistent in the way you apply your judgement

@@proverbalizer What your saying is true but Running a 10.49 with legal wind is damn right impossible which is why the world record is under doubt but even it was run under legal conditions to get to that point is near impossible in life if your at the age of 30 now ofc she can get there in life i am not saying she won't but to be able to run 10.49 or faster it isn't about speed or form its more of a mental thing you just have to have the right mindset be in the right physical and mental shape and have good amount of legal wind behind you so you will be able to hit that speed shelly ann all her life of running the close she came to the WR was 10.60 flat which she ran last year and if you look back at her races up to the 50m due to her crazy start puts her in the lead and allows her to split a good 50m time rather then ETH if you look at her start compared to shelly ann its much slower (beside the pre classic where she ran 10.54) but if you compare top end speed ETH is rather faster or better then SFP in order to break the world record you would need two of those combine together not only that but also form a good person for an example is Sha'carri has perfect form and crazy top end speed but slow out of the blocks she has yet to peak now why isn't she running fast time like she was the start of 2021 because its a mental thing if ETH really want that world record she needs to dig for it and dig deep

Florence's record still legitimately stands to this day, because she earned it. The strange thing about the wind is that you don't really know where it's going to be. The same wind gust can hit one person at a high speed, yet completely swirl around and miss another person who is standing only 50ft away. Wind doesn't travel in a straight line, in any consistent fashion. Moreover, if it did, then it would have also pushed the other ladies who ran in the same race with Florence much faster as well; but it didn't. There really isn't any legitimate controversy around Flo Jo's record. We all can and should let go of that tinfoil-hat conspiracy that claims Flo Jo's 10.49 time in the women's 100m is in question. Because it's not.
@proverbalizer
@proverbalizer Жыл бұрын
It is definitely in question. But her 200m time is even more untouchable
@everydaychristian8932
@everydaychristian8932 Жыл бұрын
@@proverbalizer I mean sure, you can question it all you want. But it's still the official time. It's not in dispute, officially. But to your point about Florence's 200m time, you're right about that being an amazing feat. Her 200m race also further substantiates the validity of her 10.49s race in the 100m event. It's actually more evidence to prove she really did unquestionably achieve that historic 10.49s time in the 100m race. But again, there will always be crackpots theories to explain away her 100m achievements.
@proverbalizer
@proverbalizer Жыл бұрын
@@everydaychristian8932 it's not a "crackpot" theory though. There's a lot of evidence behind the theory. For one, if you take all her best 100m times (10.62 OR, wind aided 10.54, 10.61 etc) and adjust them to zero wind speed they all fall into a very narrow range except the 10.49 is an outlier. And then you have the wind guage readings from all other heats on that same day as well as from the triple jump that was happening at the same time. One can obviously see that it was windy right before the gun went off...it is possible that the wind was exactly perpendicular or suddenly died down to 0...but all things considered it's also very possible that the wind guage did indeed malfunction. But I agree that the record is and should remain official. (You can't go back and erase a record based on suspicioun, whether the suspicion is very reasonable or unreasonable)
@everydaychristian8932
@everydaychristian8932 Жыл бұрын
@@proverbalizer Had you not used the word 'evidence', and used the word 'suspicion', in your statement saying, "There's a lot of suspicion behind the theory", then I would've fully agreed with you. But in order for that analysis to have any legitimate consistency, that also means that the same wind suspicions would have to be applied to the other women running alongside Florence in that race. The same alleged wind-aid that supposedly helped Florence, would have also gone to wind-aid the likes of Gail Devers and every other woman who raced against Florence in that race, but... it didn't. According to an extreme improbability, some people really want us to believe that the wind only helped Florence yet did not help the other ladies who were running just inches away from Florence. Nope, the wind doesn't work that way in open space. Feet, perhaps; but Inches, extremely unlikely and statistically improbable. So, any analytical claim to Florence being wind-aided, would also necessarily have to be applied to the other ladies running in that same race. But somehow, that same windage didn't help the other female sprinters race faster?? Nope, haha, it just doesn't add up. You'd have to do some significant mental gymnastics in order to turn that suspicion into something reasonably credible. But that would be a reach. And it's also why her 10.49s record still stands official.
