That's a really hard topic to get over. Many people can go years thinking each day about a love that was different than any other love they ever had. Not even time heals instances like these sometimes. It can feel like death, but the person is a living ghost. It's a crazy hard human emotion to handle.

We were basically engaged, and she just left one day and I never heard from her again. Did you try to fix it with him when you made the mistake?

i had a break up 3 years ago yet I still think about my ex despite having no contact. We should not punish ourselves over these thoughts because i think it's human nature to remember those who had an impact on our lives --in one way or another. I feel that it is important to not dwell on the thought of the ex and just let it pass...like a season let it have its' moment and then let it go.

Katie: It’s truly brutal, a genuine punch to the gut. It’s been one year for me and I’m just now coming back around and rediscovering life. My life. My way. Without her. I’m not going to lie, it’s been a long, hard road. Susan helped me tremendously (I did a session with her). Try to give yourself the time and space to go through, and not around, this. It's a horrible feeling. I liked this girl in secondary school and college and haven't seen her since for 4 years now. We both liked each other but we weren't really dating or going out. Some people, to get over an ex, try to start a new relationship with whoever seems handy. It's a really bad idea. You will just end up feeling ten times worse and dazed and confused. Right now I'm 49 but I'd rather be on my own then going for someone who isn't first rate. I don't want to make mistakes anymore, I want to learn from them and truly become someone that someone else would say they are lucky to have. Susan, you are an inspiration to me.

Fabulous as always! I’ve recently split up and initially wanted her back. She said she didn’t know how she felt but needed space. Cruel of me to say but I’m not hanging around waiting (well I am because coronavirus has got me stuck at home 24/7) but I’m determined to get my life on track. I don’t think time heals all. Time makes you forget IF you have other things in your life to distract you from thinking about them but most people lead a very normal basic life: work, groceries, home, bed. Plenty of time for the loneliness and feelings to creep back up from past loves. I think once a heart is broken it will always be broken. The key is to find someone who will love your broken heart. I haven’t found him yet.

How wonderfully the Universe is using you, dear Susan, for channeling it’s messages to me. I’ve been still, hooked to the story you already know, since last year. I’ve tried everything, even another relationship, but it broke, because this person still hookes my mind and heart. But I know, that the love I felt or feel is mine and I’m aware that it is in my power to build the happiness I thought I was finding there, on my own and that’s the focus. The problem is, when they call once in a while and then disappear again. Sometimes you are strong and it doesn’t get you, but at isolation times like these... then you are vulnerable. So, when that happens, the only way to get through it (Without giving them the reaction they expect) is to honor that feeling and do your Yoga, ask the Universe for guidance, reach out to friends and focus on doing another step towards your happiness, even if it is a little one, like sending an Email with an application for a new job, or write your affirmations, manifest the qualities that your new love will have and also, work on gaining those qualities in your own persona. It’s a process, longer than I thought. Anxiety is my companion, but I‘m learning how to Deal with It. So, when I wake up, instead of checking My messages, I first go to My Yoga Matt and then meditate. I think, this helps us all to unwhire, little by little. And it’s okay not to get over a person so quickly... When I tell myself that, then I feel that love, I was hoping to get from this person. It's really normal to think about your ex specially the recent ones, sometimes I find myself thinking about an ex from decades ago, she crosses my mind and I think about her for awhile not too much but it happens. If there’s one thing I learned, moving on from an ex takes full acceptance. Full acceptance of your pain, where you are at, and also full acceptance that you may still love them. I was with my guy for 3 yrs long distance. It was hard. But I thought we were happy. I actually felt he was my soulmate. I didn’t believe in that. We had been fighting for about two months. He had a friend staying with him and she was getting all his attention. One night we argued. And I thought made up. He said. Ok baby goodnight. I love you. The next day he was gone. Said he was confused. Wanted us to back off and go with the flow. Everything was unacceptable. He really left. After another 10 days he went no communication. Not answering the phone or texts. Every one who comes into your life is there for a reason. They are there to help you explore yourself. Some are there for a short time others a life time. When they leave it is sad, but they are not there for a reason. In many instances they may not have been able to sustain a meaning full relationship. With the passing of time, you will understand why they are not there. I think I miss the fantasy because I left him for MANY reasons. Sooooo emotionally abusive. I know when I left I had gotten to a place where I would have had to live in denial if I stayed. The writing was on the wall. I loved him and I wanted a “certain life” with him that he could not agree to. The truth is that our ex’s will most likely treat the next person the same. And if they treated us poorly, then the next person unfortunately is going to get the same eventually. My fantasy is that he would change. But for the two years I was with him all I experienced was him becoming more abusive. Sometimes it’s helpful to remember why we left.

I loved him beyond life itself. I never let distance and work hinder my ability to be the best I could be to him. He's the one who chased me and promised me faithfulness yet I find numerous other people on his phone by sheer accident. He never sit off a single red flag. It took 6 months to work up the courage and confront him only to accuse me of spying and invading his "privacy". Not very private when you leave your notifications on and forget your phone in the bathroom. I cared for him more than his family and that's by his testimony. I never told him no and never angered him. When my mom was sick, he couldn't even bother to ask me why I'm silent. It's like he doesn't notice me anymore. Actually think I'm going crazy sometimes. I can't get her out of my mind. I find myself having conversations with her in my head. She was a recovering addict, she would be dry drunk acting out sometimes. Acting insane . But then her good side was so beautiful and we had this soulmate twin flame connection. Actually talked about it and we think we are twin flames. She knows she's crazy, but she can't fix herself. And I can't fix her either. So now I feel tormented . While she blames me for everything, when she was the one that messed everything up beyond repair. Coasting me, seeing other people . Now I'm the bad guy, I guess that's her self-defense mechanism. Either way I feel doomed. I can't do this for the rest of life, it's a nightmare, all right I can't get off of. Supposedly she feels the same way, but we can't fix this.. I realized my situation isn't the typical breakup . Anyway thanks for reading, any advice you can give me, I feel like I'm at the end of my rope. thanks 🙏

While I genuinely appreciate Susan's sound advice, IF you're struggling with cognitive dissonance or trauma bonding after a narcissist entanglement overcoming obsessive thinking can be extremely challenging. 17 mos with my(Engaged) Ex GF, who suffers from BiPolar. She set me FREE 32 days! After watching videos I'm starting to think she also suffers from NPD. I started a journal of our relationship. WOW! It validated my GUT feelings I'd been having. I treated her like a Queen, she told me Mom Loves you & says You're a Keeper. Mom even said to me a few times I need to take you home with me! I look in the mirror & give myself a PEP talk, going over the journal & then try & Stay busy. Most of time it helps. I really miss her in the morning and night, not exchanging GM & GN texts. I believe I'm suffering from Trauma Bonding. I have an appointment with Behavioral Health, to see if I am damaged over this. So we will see.

The worst is trying to not think about it when you dont know the reason why it ended. We liked each other I know he did but then he moves to another city to studie I support him I even go there I few times he treats me like a princess but then for some reason he stops talking to me calling or sending texts I reach out he gives an excuse. Same time happens a couple of time I stop reaching out to see if he cares and he never each out again for almost an year. It hurt but I moved on with my life making sure I staying busy. Then someday he texts saying Sorry and how much he knows he's wrong for the way he handle things I told him I can't forgive him and how childish he was he says Sorry again and wish me the best. Since then I been thinking more about him sometimes I don't know if the reason is because I wish to know what really happen or because I'm in quarentine and have too much free time....

He is not man of integrity but always tries to project himself as I am nothing n I have lost him. Contrarily I have everything better than him..
