hey! just wanted to share a little "easter egg" on chroma console. step 1: turn DRIFT up to like 50% on the MOVEMENT module step 2: select PITCH and put Rate at 50% and Amount at 100% voila! you can kinda get some random pitch modulation, similar to broken and cassette

Depends how you view it. in terms of how much stuff it can do in totality probably better value for money (see my recent chroma console series which shows you all of that) but the gen loss does this stuff a bit better and you have more control over what and when etc. so it depends how deep you want to go with this sort of sound

@@theouterplanetYeah on the pedal itself you can only save 2 presets. BUT, with MIDI you can save up to 122 presets. Did you end going with Chroma?

Yes that was cool to hear and see. Didn't bother me you weren't playing an instrument. Meant you could focus on spinning knobs so we could hear what was happening. Good vids, thanks mate! Love the tape pedals

Haven't owned any decent pedals in a long time, might have to look into the Chroma Console as an outboard effects unit. Awesome video man!

Looping is fine unless there are some more dynamic responses from actively playing. The one issue with the chroma console is definitely the grouping. Not being able to mix and match effects on the same channel limits it. I wish you could dial in the effects to the 4 different channels and then do the arrangement. Have it on my board but I’m starting to view is as more of a production tool

Hey Nick! I wonder if you'd ever think about doing a similar video comparing the Old Blood Noise Endeavors BL 44 to the Chase bliss Mood Mkii micro looper tape option, specifically in No Dub mode. I was playing with my mood mkii and had the idea myself but its fate you should release this video today. As long as the modify knob is counter clockwise of noon, I feel that they'd be very similar.

Totally agree. BUT I don’t own the bl44 any more. I did have that pedal and did some videos on it tho so I wonder if I could grab some old footage. Hmmmm leave it with me

So for me, I am a hip-hop producer that uses outboard gear with my synths and stuff. So I rather hear and see the videos the way this video was made. It gets straight to the point and helps us understand a lot better. Just my humble opinion. Great video and I was in debate with these 2 pedals. The modded updates that are needed to get more bass out of the pedal is making me lean more towards the chroma console. Can you run bass thru the chroma console to see if it is thin after it is processed?

Well I accept your humble opinion 😂👍👍 I think ultimately if I was using the chroma live or for recording I’d want amp/cab sims to run alongside it to keep the low end and prevent the signal getting too thin, and or eq

The real test is against Kinotone Ribbons and Chroma Console (I own both and actually truly believe the 2 paired together are unstoppable). The thing that really sets the Ribbons apart from EVERY OTHER PEDAL is the tape/vinyl record crackle and the tape/vinyl record stop effects (they are SUPER REALISTIC AND RANDOM when set appropriately). I still can't understand why the Chase Bliss Warped Vinyl didn't include these, seeing as they are super relevant to the pedal name. The Gen Loss is great,but compared to either one of the other pedals it's not quite on the level.

After owning the generation loss. I realized that I just liked watching videos about it more than actually owning it because I think end of the day …. how much are you really gonna use this thing to actually make music?? It’s cool to make a little blobs of ambient stuff maybe but other than that I just couldn’t find a use for it. Just my opinion though.
