Can the Coleman CC100X minibike break 60 MPH? Installed a Predator 212 with an 18 tooth max- torque on the Coleman mini bike. Did a top-speed run to see the performance gains.

Found your channel few months ago when I was looking for what mini bike I wanted. I like how well you guys try/do explain stuff and make it really simple to understand and even follow along. Was going to get the cc100x from walmart online but I didn't want to pay shipping so I went to thiesens and saw the ct100u and they messed up and gave me the ct200u so im not complaining. Definitely watching more upcoming videos

@@Black66 yea I got the air filter and a exhaust pipe. Then I got the governor screw bent down bcuz it was welded in. Goes 25mph as of now

Ya, 50 is plenty fast. it kinda is scary when I get up there. I'm always worried about the tires popping.

Nice clutch 18 tooth.60 is crazy. My new motor came it's a (7.0 extreme power us) on a DB30 with 17 clutch and 75 rear and I topped out 53mph and yes it felt like it had more but couldn't go. But I'ma try out the 18 tooth for my next project

I think with your 75 rear it might be a good combo with the 18 tooth. I think the 18 was a little to much for this bike. The engine wasnt turning enough RPMs to be in the power band.

@nauticaxo I would use a 6.25 ratio at first. A standard 12 tooth clutch . Then later as you build it and want more top speed you could always change up the ratio. I used that ratio in this video. That bike was fun! kzbin.info/www/bejne/qpubiaucq7KViKc

Been watching your channel for many months now, have the upgraded, late build cc100x with a fully built Predator 224. 18 tooth clutch and 75 tooth sproket rear. Does 70mph easily on days it wants to stay together... My question is; how do you keep taut, chain tension? I'm either derailing, stretching my chain or breaking them. Mostly the first. You should buy it and feature it and how to maintain proper chain tension!

What about a 14T 68 back or 13th 68 with a 310 cam mid head work flywheel and 28 carburetor how fast think it would go. Arc rod as well in it

Nice. Just wondering if you have measured how much road you are using on your top speed runs? Watched a video of guys in LA and they had to have in between 1/4 and a half mile. They were running 70+.

For sure, bodyweight makes a big difference. We used to race karts back in the '80s. We would win races because we didn't have weight classes and I was a small light-weight kid. Good times.

Ya, I think a 14 would be good. I had a 12 / 75 on there before and it ran really good. I tried a 10 tooth racing clutch in another video , and it went zero to 30 mph in about 2.5 seconds. But would top out about 40.

Ya, that's a good idea . I'll have to do a side by side . The seat is nice on this bike . Its surprisingly stable at speed for a small bike and the smaller tires. The 18 inch tires might be a tight fit for this bike.

Did he say.. 40mph out of a stock 3hp with a 12t front & 75t rear??🤔I'd like to see that!! predator 212 6.5hp stock does about 35-40mph with same gearing.. 60mph with 18 front & 75 rear & a built engine.. sounds about rite.. takes bouta a quarter mile to do it..🤔... backfiring, snapping, crackling, & popping.. the whole way haha I'm 260lbs 0-50 in 20mins lol

My 100cc engine does 57. No added mod’s completely stock. How fast do you think a 212 tops out at?

It started out only 28mph MAX. Now it does 57 after about 10 seconds maybe less depending on fuel. Is that good? I have no friends or people to bounce ideas off of in this community.

@@botzayvier1492 the main thing I can say is, measure how fast you go before you touch anything. And then, after some governor and throttle linkage research, adjust those. If you go faster, awesome. BUT If you go slower or have to twist ur throttle handle more, do the opposite.

@@botzayvier1492 in other words, trial and error. And don’t waste money on upgrades. The first few weeks you feel like you don’t even know what you’re doing but once you get the hang of it, you’ll immediately realize where you went wrong and what you can do better.

@@botzayvier1492 the only upgrade I’d recommend anyone put on a mini bike is a toque converter. And a straight pipe or maybe a better clutch… that’s all I’d put on mine. Lots of people do piston arm and flywheel upgrades too tho

What is the best gearing and clutch to get on a stock motor and what would you recommend my first mods be or what to do to get stock to be faster

The cc100x has a 75 rear sprocket so just a standard 12 tooth clutch and a few mods will make that thing run really good. You could always add more teeth to the clutch to get more top speed. If it's stock you could do the basic stuff first like disable or remove the governor, install a jet kit, header pipe, and high-flow air filter. That will wake it up.

@@Black66 so the boy I got mine off of gave me a chain cause it kept popping off i put the chain on today went down the road it came undone and I lost the master link the chain seemed really cheap what kind of chain do you recommend

@@BradFFA I use this chain without master links. If you use a chain breaker you can put the chain together without a link. Fir top speed or higher speed u want a smaller sprocket on the rear I have a stage 1 predator I put smaller rear sprocket 48 tooth and I'm afraid to open it up seriously 😅!

Yes, a smaller sprocket on the rear will increase top speed Also , every tooth you add on the clutch is equivalent to taking away 6 teeth on the rear sprocket. So adding teeth to the clutch is essentially doing the same thing .
