@shamalabadingdong2 жыл бұрын
@@NvSrAgE679 sensible people compare products mainly off of their price because money is generally what dictates their buying choices. Obviously the integra is more luxury and less performance focused, but this video is meant to show what the car brings to the table from a performance stand point. You can get much more performance for the same dollar which shows the integra is pretty far behind it's segment in just performance. Again, it's more than a bare bones performance car so that's okay but it is obviously the weakest performance car. Saying that it needs to be compared to cars way cheaper than itself is like saying a dumb 8th grader should be compared to 6th graders because he's dumb 😂. The Integra is compared to other $30k cars because it is a $30k car. It's kind of pathetic already that a $30k car needs to be compared to a low $20k car to make it look passable. If you're talking about racing/autocross classes sure. Only issue is in the real world you're paying real money. No one is comparing $30k cars to $20k cars just because the $30k car is so bad that it needs to be compared to a $20k car. That already proves that it's outmatched from a performance stand point.

Yes, but actually no. Considering inflation, the top of the line integra cost back then what the base integra cost today, and thats considering the fact that integra type R's are rare! What is actually happening is the new integra type r if there ever is one, would cost nearly 50k USD, that is toyota supra and nissan z territory, and if you really want a sedan, you are pushing Audi S series cars with dedicated AWD, etc. The question isn't how good cars have gotten, but the fact that the prices have also gone up faster than inflation, meaning that you are essentially getting your money's worth, but you are also being ripped off since your 30K usd doesn't get you a whole lot more today than it did 10-20 years ago. Think about it, what does a 30k camry in 2002 have that a new 30k camry has today? @@Toymonkeyjr I haven't driven one myself, but that's what I would assume too. It's way too close to a Civic with extra luxury. I just personally not sure who the target demographic is for this car. But it's like a 5 door kind of luxury, kind of sporty car? For $40K+ at that price range just seems kind of pointless. They were comparing it to other FWD cars with some pep, but those two cars are much cheaper. It should be compared with something more like an Audi A3 or the like. But if they're comparing the Integra to the VW and Hyundai because it has a stick that just shows that Acura/Honda is kind of missing the point of what an Integra is suppose to be in the public's eyes. And even if they know that already, it's just confusing why they're trying to do by making a more luxury tarted up Civic. It just fills a weird space of luxury/not luxury.

@@sigmaprojects Yep, agreed. i think it fits the audience that wants a civic in a suit. They want reliability and professionalism but prefer honda over toyota like acura over lexus. It makes sense but it's more of a misnomer. It's really just what the Acura TL was 10 years ago compared to the civic, same relation between the corolla and the lexus IS. They should have had a different name, but used the Integra name to get interest, when it's really just an Acura that is a suited up civic. Car companies love to do that nowadays, like with the 'mustang' mach e.

@@Toymonkeyjr Acura TL was more of a serious luxury Accord, not a civic.
