G'day Kevin, it's a traditional thing to have a Grandfinal party, with all the family and friends eating, drinking and watching the match, this year it's my Youngest son's place, and with my Wife following the Brisbane lions it will be a special event for Her, only thing is she gets so nervous she can't watch the match if it's close, thanks for the video, best time on the day will win, cheers mate, Neil 🤠.

"It's more than a game" Kevin! It's going to be a huge family event that's not over when the match is won! Wait til all the children and all the emotions come out, when all the players are introduced, the last medals are awarded and the last photos are taken! 😢🎉

Gday Kevin. Can I make a suggestion if you’re coming to Oz. I’m a Western Australian and it always astounds me that international visitors go straight to the Eastern states. Take a look at some WA videos and come to the biggest and most diverse state in the country. Optus Stadium - voted the most beautiful stadium in the world. Home of the Fremantle Dockers and the West Coast Eagles (AFL teams). And it is seriously stunning. The Kimberley’s (top of the state) the most stunning region in the world. Red dirt, hot and humid, waterfalls, crystal clear oceans, you name it. And very much crocodile country. Keep in mind that the north of WA has a cyclone season and the area will often be flooded out and inaccessible during that time. Broome - the most stunning beaches in the world (Cable Beach, which has 12 metre tides which are mind blowing to watch) where you can do camel rides, hot and humid all year round. Home of the pearling industry in Oz. Margaret River (bottom of the state) - massive forests, the most famous wine area in Australia and world renowned, best surfing area in Oz (holds world competitions). And bloody freezing in winter. Shark Bay - wild dolphins come in to the beach every day to visit. Exmouth - dive with whale sharks And some of the longest roads in the country where you will come across wild camels, etc. just don’t drive them during or after sunrise and sunset. The odds of hitting kangaroos, emu’s, cattle, etc are seriously high. I drive these roads often and you drive during daylight hours unless you have a death wish. Travellers to WA generally hire cars (4WD) and do the most epic road trips of their lives. Keep in mind though, it’ll take you weeks or months to do it. Perth is the most remote capital city in the world but also one of the wealthiest. Mining has made us seriously rich as a state. Most people here (myself included work away from home. It’s called FIFO (fly in/fly out). They get flown from home to the mines, accommodation and food provided and then home again. They work 12hr shifts, every day. The mining camps generally have gyms, bars, pools, etc and are landscaped to be like resorts. And they’re paid ridiculous amounts of money. The mines have to create these “villages” because the areas they’re in are desert so they wouldn’t get anyone to work there otherwise. My husband does FIFO to Port Hedland. He works on the tug boats at the largest mining port in the world. It’s purely for multiple mining companies to load iron ore onto container ships from all over the world. He does 2 weeks on/ 2 weeks off. 😅I do DIDO (drive in/ drive out). I drive 7 hrs one way to work. I do 3 weeks there and 1 week at home. Over that drive I pass through 3 towns, all of them with a population of no more than 700 people. 😂I work in a hospital in the outback. And I love it. And get paid extremely well as I get a daily allowance just to be there plus a travel allowance. A note: there’s an RFDS base here too to fly out any patients that are beyond the hospitals scope. Anyway, please buck the trend and check out WA. It’s a different world from the rest of OZ and incredible in its size, friendliness and beauty. This clips about Broome and the Kimberley’s from international road trippers. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pniVlIqwg76IqdEsi=j8uIhLUzt3vlWiNz This clips about FIFO and really good to watch to understand the life. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4m9dX99rc1sa7Msi=gVtS5D-213gZXZTA Exmouth whale sharks kzbin.info/www/bejne/g3qko4iur9VlesUsi=Px2KsCu7roDg678P

Wow! 😮 You're really seeking WA to me right now! But yes, my plan was to travel to Australia and start in Perth. I'm going to take a look at those videos, but I can tell you it's similar where I live. In fact, my brother works away, flying in and it periodically. I'm actually going to pick him up at the airport this Saturday when he comes home, first time home since June!

Glad you are enjoying our great game. My tip for BOG is James Rowebottom. A solid midfielder tackling machine. We have our snacks ready and looking forward to a great game. Go Swans. Cheers.

Kev, I love how quickly you've deep dived into AFL. You're totally across it now, well done. Enjoy the Saturday's game. We're on the other side of the country, so we're off to our local to enjoy a feed and barrack for the Lions 😘

My heart says Brisbane but my brain says Sydney. It should be a great game either way. You know that technically the Grand Final is still between two Melbourne teams? South Melbourne football club reformed in Sydney as the Swans and Fitzroy footy club reformed in Brisbane as the Lions. Have a great day(night?) and I'll see you tomorrow afternoon (for me). ;)

Only change for Lions is Oscar McInerny out, Darcy Fort in as mentioned by Joey in the clip. Oscar was the ruckman who dislocated his shoulder twice during last week's prelim

Apart from a bit of a stutter towards the end of the season the Swans have been the team to beat in2024. Even with Mills out, the team has so much depth thanks to the development of some younger players over the years that has paid off. So while he'll be missed, it's not the disaster some pundits are claiming. That's not taking away from Mills' genius, it is what it is. Grand final footy is never a sure thing, but I do have good feeling this time around but tempered by the memory of some soul-scarring disasters over the years. Bloods!!

Hi Kev, very few teams have won the GF when starting outside the top four. This is because of what King said about that extra game because of the way the finals system works. Sydney are much fresher. I've seen every Swans team since the 60s, and this one's the best I've ever seen. They are all extremely accurate kicks and love getting out on their own in space. With this method they can go from fullback to full forward in the blink of an eye. Lions won't make a comeback in this game. Sydney want this flag so much that they will get out in front and never look back. After half time, Swans will break Brisbane's spirit and will run away with the game. Margin will be anything from 4G to 10G. Cheers and cheer the red and the white. 🦢🏆

@@discoveringnlwithkevin It's all very heroic for Brisbane to have started off not winning games and then to work their way up to the GF. However it should be obvious that the team that has remained on top of the ladder for the whole season is the better one.

The Big O is a massive loss to the Lions so despite the common thought that Fort breaking even with Grundy is a good thing for the Lions, I'd go as far to say it's a win for the Swans based on their last meeting. The Chad will be one to watch, Champion data has his 2022 GF game as the 3rd best game in a GF for the last 20 years despite losing by over 80 points, his final quarter, the best quarter of any player. Lloyd & Campbell are also options for Rayner. Usually the pregame entertainment is shown at halftime on the telly, don't quote me on that one though. Great job Newfy, the knowledge you've gained in such a short time frame is mind blowing. Go Swannies ❤️🦢❤️🦢
