Can the Vaccines Protect us Against the XBB Variant of Covid 19?

As expected New variants of COVID-19 are still popping up around the world, despite an overall decline in cases including hospitalizations
Since emerging in late 2021, the highly transmissible omicron strain subvariants are now driving fresh waves of Covid-19 cases around the world. .
So while the XBB appears to be gaining traction in Asia, a close cousin of XBB called BQ.1.1 is spreading fast in Europe and some U.S. states.
And now as of this writing with this new sub-variant called the XBB variant… do we need to worry especially with local news headlining the possible entry of XBB already in our country due to opening of borders.

I've got covid two days ago with mild symtoms: light sore throath, headache and mild fever. Today all the symtoms are gone. Praise the Lord. I feel much better now. Omicron xbb is spraeding fast in my country. I never god covid befor. My 2x sinovac and 1 AZ booster help significantly.🙂

Thank you for the clear update! Sadly my adult son (who has diabetes type 1) and I caught the current UK strain of Covid a few days ago, just when we were due to go for the vaccine booster....my son had fever, night sweats and very high blood sugars for the first couple of days after testing positive, I fortunately have avoided the fever but have had a horrible cough - once it starts, it's very hard to stop, though oxygen sats have still been 98% despite all the phlegm and hacking cough! Because of the constant coughing, I have found muscles in parts of my body where I never knew I had muscles, and they are all aching!! Hoping and praying we both get over this soon - oddly enough, we both had a "cold" testing negative for Covid, for 2-3 weeks prior to having the actual Covid.

I’m starting to question my religion and my faith. Please pray for me. I share my testimony only seeking prayers. But unfortunately I get put down and censored from my own christian community. So for that very reason I’m losing faith. As a single mother things tend to be difficult on me especially because both of my sons are autistic. I’m overwhelmed all time. My husband passed years ago. So I’m alone. I’m struggling every day trying to make ends meet for my children and myself. I’m barely getting by. I lost my job as a social worker at Forsyth hospital because I declined the vaccine. I declined because of my pre existing health condition lupus and heart disease. I was denied my medical exemption. My health is still not the best. I’m waitressing and I’m so thankful to be working, but I’m not making nearly what I use to. I’m tired of stressing, and struggling. I’m just feeling hopeless please pray for me.

Focus on the simple things and find peace in the eyes of your children when you look at them. For the past 20 years, every Sunday on facebook, I post a Sunday Message of Hope. You will find comfort in them. Yes, I will pray for you though you must understand that you do need to get vaccinated. I know of dozens of folks that have RA and heart disease and they got vaccinated and are just fine. If you get covid now without being vaccinated, your body will have a very hard time, please understand this. As far as finances are concerned, you really should work from home. There are so many jobs from home now and you can make great money. You are educated as a Social Worker, therefore you can definietley get a good work from home job. Do not feel hopeless as there are hundreds of millions of people with no food eacy day and they die from hunger. Your children are the reason to go on and be tougher than all the life can dish out.
