When I was a kid in the 80’s my father was in the US military and we lived in what was West Germany. One of our neighbors was a doctor and a friend of my fathers and he owned a 1983 Ferrari 512 BBi. It was a stunning car in every respect, and he often took me for long drives. The sound of the engine could best be described as “mechanical music”, and the exhaust note was thrilling. When I’m an old man on my deathbed I will still remember going on the autobahn at high speeds in that car and the sound, the feeling of euphoria, and the smell of leather.

"...so we'll leave that to the Porsche guys." - Haha! Porsche guys can't get a break! Gotta love a Magnesium spare! No "Limited to 50 Mph/80 Kph" warning there.

Really nice car, 365 GT/4 BB, they sound awesome I like that gutter al roar from that jewel of a motor. Oh the seats on this car is from a 512, the 365s didn't have headrest, some 365 GT/4 BB's came with non adjustable backrests without headrests and some of them came with adjustable backrests without headrests. The 512BB and BBI's came with headrests and the BBI's seats were also available with Zegna wool inserts on the seats.

You never stop learning about these exotics. I'd never guessed a 6-tip exhaust to be factory style. And that spare tire looks like it came directly off a Benelli, MV Augusta or Ducati :-D

I think that that car is a rolling engine with a chassis bolted on. If somebody really souped it up, I bet it would smoke alot of modern cars out there. What a work of art!

can you still get factory parts for this car or are they all after market ? does that hurt the score ?

Love the 365 GT BB. I prefer the purer design of this to the 512, and the engine being smaller capacity at 4.4 litres, sounds subtly sweeter too.

How does one go about becoming a concours detailer or get to work on exclusive vehicles like this guy? Did he just start a mobile detailing business and grow through connections? Curious to know the journey as I'm interested in a similar path

I believe the judge was wrong on this specific issue. The engine compartment struts are installed incorrectly based on a picture of a 1983 512 BBI that’s currently for sale in Chatsworth, CA. The pictures provided show the strut sleeve mounted in the upper position. Chrome strut in the bottom position. This is counter to the 365 GT4 BB. Can someone please verify? It’s all about the details, right?

What you do It’s not ridiculous at all. It’s of great importance cars be preserved. What you do is great and important.

the engine description is given by the position of the cylinders in the engine block. Ferrari BB owners manuals and brochures never say V12. so 180 degree V12 is not correct description

Is it possible to remove scratches from the rear interior plastic quarter pannel of my 2012 Porsche Cayman? My tint installer called it "soft" plastic and said it was difficult to fix. Just curious in case Tim is reading the comments.

There are many ways. On Porsche and Hewland gear boxes I use Boeshield T9, it’s a spray on protectant. Some other gearboxes are already dichromate protected, a dark grey coating mostly on race cars. On wheels, I soda blast carefully and use an epoxy primer before paint. With older 40+ year old wheels I would have them crack checked as well. Or just refinish and use on show day. With proper vintage tires of course!

...as we have learned here... It is not a Berlinetta Boxer... Its a Brigite Bardot. The true reason of the "BB"

What is even more awesome about the spare tire is that the front space cannot fit any of the other tires of the car. So if you have change the tire on the side or the road well, good luck in bringing back the punctured one back home lol Secondly “platino” is not pronounced “platìno”, the accent is actually exactly as in the English “platinum” but with a O instead of UM, much easier 😅

Berlinetta Boxer? I am pretty sure the Berlinetta has a V Engine with 180° angle. Boxer Engines aren't just V Engines with 180° angle.
@RoverWaters2 жыл бұрын
1. "Berlinetta Boxer" is official the name of the car. 2. The BB has a flat 12 engine layout. 3. 180° V engines do not exist 4. All these facts are related in the owners manual.

As brilliant as the camera work is on other videos, why is this shoddy? The shots from the side of the presenter have no purpose but to annoy as he does not switch to look at the other camera, why do a dual camera setup like this, it's so annoying it takes away from the content.. You guys are better than this..

I don’t understand what having donut review this car would accomplish other than squashing any bad vibes. It’s a kit car. It doesn’t share the same engine, suspension, chassis, steering, or interior with the real Lykan. It IS cool. Especially that it was built by students. But a home built one off, that LOOKS like a Lykan, not a Lykan.
