@@banty3d446 I’m not sure, they only sent the case for the iPhone so I had to steal it from my wife to try it 😆. The macro and telephoto lenses really make a difference in terms of image quality. But I need to try them on the s23 Ultra to see if the phone can deliver even better results. What do you think about the image on the iPhone so far based on what I showed in this video? 🤔

Great video! I have used a 6x zoom monocular on my iPhone se and I loose image stabilization so a tripod is needed, too. I think I'll wait for the Galaxy s24 ultra when it comes out. I understand it to have only one zoom lens that may go past 10x optical zoom.

Literally all reviews about the Shiftcam ultra lens kit discredit the reliability of reviews on KZbin because not a single reviewer criticised the lack of lens caps in the kit. I do wonder if they would be so indifferent to the lack of lens caps if they had paid $1,200 plus shipping and heavy taxes (if outside the US) for the kit. In any case, I am reporting Shiftcam to the Better Business Bureau in the US. I asked all reviewers why they didn’t criticise the lack of lens caps. Some of them replied to my comment but didn’t answer my question. Two of them threatened me. As a matter of fact, just one single reviewer answered my question. He said he doesn’t care about lens cap for the front lens. Still , he didn’t criticise the lack of lens cap for the rear lens. In any case, that reviewer is contradicting himself because he claims to care only about the quality of image when choosing a lens but the lack of a lens cap will certainly affect the quality of image produced by the lens as the more a lens is kept without a lens cap the more it will be exposed to dust, debris, moisture, bumps etc and that will have a negative effect on the quality of the image. Unless you keep your seven lenses in the carrying case forever and never use them! Reviewers know they can't answer my question and keep face as to not criticise the lack of lens caps in the kit is indefensible. The best , most convenient way to protect a lens is to use lens caps. Just second class professionals will be careless about lens protection. And let’s not forget that Beastgrip, Sandmarc and Moment sell their lenses with lens caps for both rear and front lens (Moment provides caps for the rear lens only but they sell caps for front lenses separately ) Shiftcam doesn’t even have lens caps to sell separately!!! They don’t care about protecting their lenses. It’s called irresponsible manufacturing. Some reviewers replied that Shiftcam individual lenses will come in cases. First of all, their reviews are about the kit, not individual lenses sold separately at a higher price per lens. Second, lens cases are not any near as crucial as lens caps and they don’t do the same job. Cases don't protect the lens when it is on the phone , for example. Say you are walking in a park with your phone in a windy day. You are looking for a next place to do some shooting. What do you do? Put a lens cap on the lens and know the lens is protected against debris brought by the wind etc? Or you take the backpack from your back, take the case from the backpack, remove the lens from the phone, put the lens in the case and back in the backpack just to invert the process 15 min later? Or maybe you don’t care about protecting your lenses at all? But if this is the case then it's likely that the quality of your work will be pair with your standards and it won’t really matter which lens you use. I can improvise my own lens case and have two Beastgrip tele lenses (with lens caps on both ends) in a hard sunglass case which easily fits in my backpack or camera bag. But I can’t improvise lens caps, especially for Shiftcam lenses which have a unique size. Viewers rely on popular reviewers such as the ones who received a free kit from Shiftcam. They should hear from those reviewers that the new Shiftcam lenses are very likely to be the best lenses for iPhones in the market but they shouldn't buy them unless Shiftcam changes its course, acts as a responsible manufacturer and starts the production of caps for all their different lenses. Rear and front. But no reviewer is saying that. This way, I am. P.S. I walk my talk. I bought lenses from Sandmarc, Moment, Beastgrip and Shiftcam last year. I compared them. The Shiftcam tele lens was clearly better than Moment and Sandmarc and perhaps a little better than the Beastgrip 2.0 tele. I sent the Moment and Sandmarc lenses back without hesitation. I kept the Beastrip and sent the Shiftcam lenses ( I had three) back after a long deliberation because they didn't have lens caps and were not compatible with ND filters. I did like the Shiftcam tele lens and really wanted to keep it . I thought that maybe I could live without a ND filter and use the lens just for indoors shooting. But I couldn't live with a lens without lens caps.

I guess you can use with other phones but you’d have to use one of their clips which can be a pain to line up with your lens. I have been buying these kind of lenses for a while and the most annoying thing is when I upgrade my phone, the lens case doesn’t work / fit so I then have to use the manual clip.

Recently I thought about writing to you about lenses for smartphones)))) And here you are making a video, it's cool) Thank you. Why do manufacturers make lenses only for iPhone ? It's just infuriating. I'm not an iphone hater, these are good smartphones, but for example I can't use them because of iOS restrictions. And I'm sure there are a lot of people like me. Let these guys make a universal mount for these lenses. Or let them make 3D models for printing and let them sell them at least. I would buy a portrait lens for my samsung. Please convey this thought to them.

I know it's not the focus of your channel. But since you're trying to make content about the capabilities of the S23U camera. Could you make a video like the one you did for the Expert Raw but focusing on S23U video capabilities? Like low light shots, audio recording, zooming in low-light, etc (I think you could achieve awesome results trying to record a concert of some sort, with loud music and lots of neon lights flickering)

I agree. While I have used iPhones the longest (also used some lens attachments as well), I used some Androids, including Samsung Folds, which I liked because of the large display, but I didn't like the photo quality, nor the screen issues, so I traded in for S23 Ultra. I think this is currently the best camera phone for me (I also like zooms, so that helps). It almost rivals my Sony RX100VII, which is pocketable. But I have this phone on me all the time, so it wins.

Still have idea why they prefer 1.55 instead of 1.33. 1.55 is too much imho. Too blurry on the sides so I would rather cropped that crap. 1.33 is much sharper

I have a question. Why you didn't criticise the lack of lens caps in the Shiftcam kit ? Beastgrip and Sandmarc provide lenses with rear and front lens caps. Moment sells lenses with rear lens cap but they have front lens caps to sell separately and they are really cheap. Please let me state the obvious and list the importance of lens caps according to K& F Concept: "A lens cap protects the lens from dust and debris. Dust and dirt can build up on the lens, reducing image quality and causing loss of focus. It can also cause scratches on the lens, leading to permanent damage." It also protects the lens from moisture. "Moisture can cause the lens coating to degrade, reducing image quality." A lens cap provides a barrier against bumps and scratches. "It protects the lens from fingerprints and other smudges. Fingerprints can reduce image quality and contrast, so it’s important to keep them off the lens. By using a lens cap, you can keep the lens free from fingerprints and other smudges." They protect the lens from UV rays. "Exposure to UV rays can cause discoloration and fading of the lens coating, which can reduce image quality and contrast." So, again, why your review didn't criticise Shiftcam's irresponsible manufacturing practice? Please don't say the review is about a prototype. The lenses should have lens caps the same. Besides, the only difference between this kit and the one for sale now is that the new kit comes in a hard case instead of a box. Never mind another omission in your review, that is, a critic to the second class quality of the phone case and the discontinuation of the very handy in-case lens mount they had for the 13 Pro, for example. Why your approach was so soft on such an important matter? Would you be so indifferent to the lack of lens caps if you had spent $1,200 buying the kit? Or do you think lens caps are not important and just throw your lenses without lens cap in the camera bag? Please let all customers know, customers who might eventually spend $1,200 on the Shiftcam kit. P.S. Nothing personal. I am asking this same question to all reviewers who posted a review about the Shiftcam kit after having received a free kit to test.

The kit they are selling does have a carrying case but the lenses don't have a lens cap the same so a carrying case didn't solve the problem. I didn't ask about carrying cases. I asked about lens caps. I wonder if anyone of the ten reviewers or so who got a free kit from Shiftcam will really answer my question: why you didn't criticise the lack of lens caps? You didn't answer my question but at least you replied to my comment. Most reviewers will just ignore the question but people will read my question about lens cap and will wonder. Everybody is praising this kit enthusiastically whilst ignoring that the kit is extremely unpractical as the lenses don't come with lens caps unlike lenses from Beastgrip, Sandmarc and Moment. And there is one more thing I didn't mention: One single reviewer said the new Shiftcam tele lens have a flare problem. Two options here: He did something wrong in his test or all other reviewers edited out images with flare as they didn't mention the problem. I am starting to think that KZbin shouldn't allow reviews based on gifts. Actually, I am going to report this matter of reviews about Shiftcam's new kit to KZbin. Why only one review pointed out the flare problem ? And why no review out of ten or so criticised the absurd lack of lens caps? I started to work with iPhones last year. I lost good money sending gear back to the US. I have worked with broadcast cameras all my adult life but the cameraphone was a new world. I was tapping in the dark. If I was to believe in the reviews here then I would think that Sandmarc and Moment make good tele lenses. They don't . I tested them against the previous Beastgrip and Shiftcam's tele lens. The difference in quality was pretty obvious and I am talking about what really matters: A person's face. The colour accuracy, the resolution, the bokeh. Moment and Sandmarc lenses are second class. Just Beastgrip and Shiftcam are making good lenses but Shiftcam, unfortunately, is an irresponsible manufacturer and expects people to pay $1,200 for a kit of lenses without lens caps! If they were at least selling lens caps separately but they don't even have lens caps and seeing their very specific, unique measurements it will be impossible to find alternative lens caps for Shiftcam lenses. So I am reporting the matter to KZbin hoping they will act on it. Probably not.

Correction. Moment sells lenses with front caps. Rear caps are available and are well made. The $5 usd price is ok but the standard Moment shipping charge of $10 usd makes the caps pretty darn expensive.

@@stevendivish I only use it for office photo ops and outing coz its pretty handy. But for personal preference, I like big screens. My main phone is Samsung Fold 3. The last big iphone I bought was an 11 Pro Max but I realized android specifically Samsung's was more useful to me both for personal and work purposes. However, I got myself an S23 Ultra last feb for the sole purpose to video a KPop Concert on March 😅. I was impressed with other videos I've seen with its zoom capabilities. But as you can see in my uploads, the actual footages I made were pretty disappointing. I should have learned more about the phone. I relied too much on auto settings. 🤦‍♀️ So here I am, subscribed. 😄 Waiting for a concert video tutorial (specially when you are seated far away from the stage). I don't want to make the same mistakes. And I plan to keep this phone for years. But it would be nice to use 13 mini for travel videos and pics coz it's so small and light and the S23 Ultra is pretty bulky.
