Yes. The water on our Earth today is the same water that’s been here for nearly 5 billion years.

Happy New Year to you and Lefty my friend 🎉. I too retired abruptly. I was also in management in a very stressful environment. I visited my physician due to my health condition and he basically told me that I will basically die if I do not leave the environment that I am in. BOOOOOOOM! A day later I retired just a flick of my finger and here I am now stress free and enjoying life with my dog Bella.

I retired early as well. I worked as an IT network manager, and I was basically at boiling point plus 100. Too many years, too many late nights, too many projects, too much work, not enough rest.
@TheCampulanceMan10 ай бұрын
I'm glad you got out before it was too late. There's too many stories of people working themselves to the end :/
@meatdog10 ай бұрын
I did the exact same thing. I was on my way to work, pulled over the side of the road and pulled out my phone and retired. I turned around, went home and never looked back. NOT 1 day of regret, only peace and health and bliss. My brother-in-law retired last April and was dead in early August. He was only 62. Very stressful job and it killed him. No job or career is worth your life. Downsize, get out before it's too late. It works out people. And you will find your bliss.

@@meatdog Yes! I stayed up until 3AM working on something else and happened upon some expired certificates on servers that were not my responsibility. So, I renewed, installed and tested them. I was just being nice and doing the responsible thing. Did I get a thank you for the catch the next day? NO! I got schooled in the middle of a conference call because I didn't fix the rest of them that I didn't know existed. They asked me, "Is that all you have to say for yourself?" I said, "I don't know what to say." It was the last straw. I went in and retired immediately after the meeting. They begged me to stay, and I refused. Downsizing is the key. Save your money people. Your boss doesn't care about you. Why do you care about them so much?

@@BalokLives @BalokLives Such a typical scenario. Earning lots of money for the selfish few with no respect for those who are doing great work is not worth ones life. I practiced family medicine in a very respectful and caring concern for all my patients in a corporate medicine setting was so frustrating. Being forced to see 60 people a day is not my idea of how to deliver quality care. I burned out and said I'm done and retired on my way to the clinic. It's self preservation. I'm sorry you were so disrespected. Stay happy and healthy. See ya happily traveling the roads, metaphorically.

You are correct David. Every drop of water stays on earth, the amount is constant. Less than 1% of Earth's water is freshwater that is easily accessible to us to meet our needs, and most of that water is replenished by precipitation.

Hi David and Lefty! That sounds like great weather, not super hot and not snowing. Google told me to tell you "The Earth's oceans have lost about a quarter of their original mass over the course of four billion years. However, the planet is at a far enough distance from the sun that it does not lose its water. "
@meanders922110 ай бұрын
You're right, David. You are essentially describing the hydrologic cycle in which water is recycled endlessly from sky to ground to ocean and back to sky. Earth neither loses nor gains water. Theoretically water could possibly escape into space, but because of our atmosphere (as you said) water vapor just goes high enough to freeze and fall back to earth as ice crystals. Mars shows what happens to water without a planetary atmosphere.

Stress is the ultimate killer in my opinion and I remember your early videos you looked so stressed out deciding whether or not to take the plunge. Today I turn 74 and I'm planning on doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, or at least it's at the top of my list. The only plan is to get to the store and stock up for our first big snow this weekend. You're right about the water! Most of it IS still in our atmosphere. Mars has less gravity, for instance, so its atmosphere is not as "well held together," so more of the water escapes(d). Mars had more water at one time (it's not clear how much, but we know it had it), but more of it floated away.

Happy New Years to you and Lefty. I was a home owner in California and one time I asked a licensed contractor to put in a rainwater catching system on my property. He said "oh no. That's illegal in this state because the California Water Resources Board said they invested in water saving techniques, cloud seeding, diversion canals for water runoff, aqueducts, dams and such. Your taking revenue from them. " Even putting a 5 gallon bucket while it's raining is illegal. So during the years we conserved water usage, the California Water Resource Board was "losing" revenue so they imposed an increase in water fees to offset it. We got penalized for using too much and we got penalized for using too little.
