Can You Beat Banjo Tooie Without Jumping?

Welp, I tried this challenge, and after a few weeks I can finally say that on the Xbox 1 Version of Banjo Tooie, you can beat the game in only 6 jumps! I didn't even use the Superbanjo code, as I thought it was cheating. The 6 jumps were as follows: 1: To get to the Plateau. 2: To get the Bill Drill ability (jump from Prospector's Hut using Speed Shoes, as I wasn't fast enough to just fly down). 3: To get the Talon Torpedo ability. 4: To get to the Quagmire. 5+6: During the Final Bossfight. Even though I had to use an extra jump to get the Bill Drill, I saved 2 in the Grunty Bossfight. The thing that you missed was that you jumped over the yellow wire as Clockwork Kazooie, when in reality you can just walk over it, negating 2 jumps! So using the Superbanjo code, you can get rid of the second jump in my run, making the current lowest proven any% jump count for Banjo Tooie only 5 Jumps! But most importantly about this run, it was super fun and I personally think it would make a great misc. section for a Banjo Tooie. GGs, and I hope you see this!

Great effort, I understand how you might think the super banjo code might be cheating. In my tests I could perform all the tricks both with and without the code. But I didn't try getting the bill drill without it so I believe you when you say it cannot be done. As for walking over the yellow wire as a clockwork kazooie egg. I can also believe that since it is not to high. I did try it but clearly not enough. (That boss fight is just so stressful) I actually had another idea to bypass jumping over the wires in that fight and it was to use the glitch where you switch positions with the clockwork kazooie. That way banjo could be in the hag 1 and shoot the battery from afar. It's only an idea and I don't have the skills to recreate that glitch. There would be too much percision involved to aim for that tiny hole while executing the glitch. Anyways, Excellent Work! getting the number of jumps down. I'm amazed that you had the patients to complete this run.

Jinjo RNG could have screwed you over, since the colours are random. In fact, it would have if you didn't find the white Jinjo when you did. How many were left? Also, great editing and everything, I can see a lot of effort was put in.

I don't get why you defined the pack whack hover as a jump. Banjo does get some height off it, but it's more of a hover than a jump. You allowed the Sack Pack boost and Wing Whack hover.

I defined it as a jump just to be safe and avoid comments saying the run was void because I did a mid air jump. Also it is often called a double jump for banjo because you are hitting the A button again and he does his jump animation in the air. The other two abilities don't use the A button to activate and they have different animations to their jumps. That was my reasoning.

Nope, the detonator does not blow up the bolders. The only way is to use the bill drill. But some of the bolders can be clipped through if they are hiding an item under them. Thank you for the comment, I'm glad you enjoyed

Right. Its been a long time since I played banjo Tooie and I don’t have many good memories. Given it took me 30 hours to get 25 jiggles I concluded it being a platformer was false advertising and that it’s really a metroidvania game, a genre I’m not a fan of. So it was kinda nice to see this run sort of validate that belief

What kills it for me is they move way too slow hence why I used the superbanjo cheat. Everything is much quicker and more snappy with it on.

I just didn't in my attempts. What I think might be the difference with my run vs Dpad gamers who did have to jump there was that I used the cheats in mayhem temple. Specifically the super banjo cheat that makes banjo run faster. With the extra speed I was barely able to make it.

Oh sorry I thought you meant the bill drill. The breegull bash is gotten by giving heggy the pink mystery egg behind the metal gate in spiral mountain. You can get the egg by doing a bill drill on the rock below the broken bridge. By doing the bolder dashing I talked about you can grab onto the bridge and climb up to the flight pad. From there you can get to the mystery egg and walk on over to heggy where she will hatch it and give you the move.
