@@pressaTD There are trainers with specific rules on how they build their teams. There are a bunch who have stuff like, "IF I bring X, I can't bring Y", or "I must bring X if I bring Y" and so forth. There's a lot of funky rules in these games. I recall hearing, I believe in Pokemon Stadium 2, there's a trainer that has a...Hoppip, was it? but due to the rules for how the trainer selects its team, it can never actually select it.

I remember trying to beat this recently with no restrictions. I got stuck on a trainer in Blaine's section who has a Snorlax with Earthquake. I just couldn't beat it with rentals lol

IIRC the rentals have no stat exp, whereas enemy pokemon do. Combine with some rather bad movepools and rentals only is a serious challenge.

In gen 1-3, thunder punch is a special attack. So hitmanchan would not hit that hard because it special stat is really bad.

Your lapras and Gary/Blue/Buttface's clefable speed tied; they have the exact same speed stat. When that happens, every turn the game essentially flips a coin to decide who moves first. (Edit: Actually, watch back through the footage, and pay attention to whether or not Clefable's "It's asleep/it woke up!" message comes before or after Lapras attacks. Betcha it's different on at least one of them!)
