You may be able to fool all of the 12 year olds watching this video, but it's seriously a scummy thing to do. Anyone who has gotten any of the gold symbols at the Emerald Battle Frontier knows that you almost certainly faked this video. At the very least, you used save states in between battles. You can't get to the symbol leaders with non-EV trained pokemon, let alone using fricking non-Ev trained Swellow, Corpfish, and Pikachu (not to mention their movesets were terrible). Most people who do the battle frontier spend hours upon hours EV-training OU level pokemon with good movesets. Even then, it takes them a long time to get 1 symbol, let alone all of them. The fact that you managed to fool everyone into thinking you were able to drag corpfish, pikachu, bulbasaur, etc. for hundreds of wins against teams that would ohko you is laughable.

I think that these videos are some of the best examples of why the world of the anime and the games are VERY different and aren't really comprable in most cases. As in the anime the gym leaders often have completely different teams, rules and how you get to each gym leader/frontier brain is almost entirely different. That and in a world where the battles are dymanic instead of static like in the games, pokemon like Pikachu and Grovyle are a lot better and can take advantage of their speed more by actively dodging attacks and counterattacking and the like. I love em though

His Pikachu has a neutral nature, too. From watching him go for Thunderbolt after Thunder, I could tell he was under a lot of pressure from trying to get to the frontier brain, and didn't want to take any chances. He ended up taking chances regardless, which actually made it much more exciting to watch. I can't be mad at that, especially after all of the previous work he put in on the video! I could see why he'd go for Thunder.

Maybe not if he does platinum. While the elite 4 is one of the easiest, the gyms are pretty damn hard actually, and we don’t even need to say anything about Cynthia Granted he doesn’t have to do the postgame

@@kyuura4324 He's got great match-ups in Platinum. Turtwig sweeps Roark, Staravia and Aipom are ample vs. Gardenia. Buizel, Pikachu and Chimchar are fine vs. 3rd gym Fantina, Staravia and Chimchar easily edge out Maylene. Pikachu and Turtwig dominate Wake, for Byron you got Buizel, Chimchar and Gliscor with Fire Fang. Candice is a cakewalk even with your exposed Ice weaknesses (Grotle, Staraptor (but with Close Combat) and Gliscor (w/Fire Fang, Steel Wing (and Xscissor), then again.. You've also got a Chimchar and she has Christmas trees. Versus Volkner you have Infernape, Torterra and Pikachu. Shouldn't be a problem once you've ridden yourself of the Ice Punch Electivire. Buizel learns Ice Punch, so he'll come in handy vs. Garchomp.

On the plus side, for Sinnoh, Ash put some actual thought in his choices (Don't use your Flying type against the Rock Gym, use your Grass and Electric Types against the Water Gym, ect.) several of his Pokemon evolved (with three of them evolving twice) and he actually seemed pretty competent (now if only he kept his intelligence afterward). So the Sinnoh run should be relatively smooth compared to the previous ones.

To be fair, Charizard was the first to fall against Brandon, so it actually was Pikachu, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle versus Brandon. I'd say that Charizard still doesn't know Seismic Toss every time you've used him in these three playthroughs, but that's falling in deaf ears and I'm enjoying this series. Good video! Can't wait to see how you handle the league in Platinum; I'd recommend to use his final team in the tournament against Tobias: Pikachu, Heracross, Sceptile, Gible, Torkoal, and Swellow, or take the smart/less-time-consuming route of using his team against Paul, which is comprised of just his Sinnoh team (sans Gible): Pikachu, Buizel, Staraptor, Infernape, Torterra, and Gliscor

I’ve been considering doing that in Gen V since I really like their selection of electric types, and just thought it could be a cool series to try.

You have to paralyze swellow for the “thunder armor” to work. Depending on the ability the swellow has it’ll be 50% stronger in attack.

@@storymaster21 that would be extremly hard on gen 2 becuase most current booster sets dont only hold gen 1-2 pokemon, and getting oldder booster packs would be a little pricey. regardless what he does it's clear that its a beloved series which he has created. That which we want more of.

@@AlanMartinez-bj7kw nope. most pokemon games you can't get all 3 starters without trading. only pokemon yellow allows you to. and X/Y if you count the friend safari, though that is post game and requires people on your friends list.

I just wana say before I get to part 4, 1, this was quite an episode for you to spite how challenging it was, with using the same exact Pokémon ash used in this game you played! 2, your Torkoal deserves credit because it’s stronger than ash’s! & 3 I like that the battle frontier in this as well!
