You know the deal, starts with no moves, great Special Attack and Speed, bad at everything else, but once it gets a Special Attacking move it's over.... right?

In gen 2, badges have a different additional boost that they don't have in other generations: each badges boosts the power of the moves their type by 12.5% (there is one for each type except dark) However both the fire and electric type badges are in Kanto, so before Kanto only Ice punch gets this boost What this means is that NeverMeltIce Ice Punch would have been stronger than Charcoal Fire Punch on neutral targets, and especially against Bruno, it would have turned some ranges into guaranteed KOs sooner
@youtube-kit9450
@youtube-kit9450 Жыл бұрын
Wait, so in gen 2, dark type moves are weaker than advertised? Or do those boosts not factor in competitive? (Not that it would've mattered considering how most darks were physical and couldn't use their stab anyways)
@ultlifeform

@@youtube-kit9450 Badge boosts do not get included in competitive play, both the stat boosts and the type boosts are only for the single player mode. A note for future Crystal impossible challenges: a recent video by pimanrules about the Crystal gen revealed that due to a small coding error Red will only use his Full Restores on his highest level pokemon, ergo Pikachu, so you never have to worry about them coming out for his real dangerous pokemon like his Snorlax.

Not sure it would have mattered, but just so you know the early game might have been slightly less tedious if you had grabbed the Pink Bow from the Tuesday sibling. Weirdly, while struggle does deal typeless damage, in gen 2 only I believe it’s coded as a normal move and still gets the 10% boost. The same is true of the other typeless moves and their corresponding boosting items. Gen 2 gonna gen 2.

Another great video by Jrose, love to see the notification! The extra time you take to point out each pokemon’s stats, movepool, and the details behind your strategy are amazingly done and set you apart from others.

29 min and you're just now getting to Blue. Hmm video is an hour 14 min........ I'm guessing Blue might make ya stumble some but Red must be a steel reinforced brick wall lmao i shall resume the video and see for myself now. Edit: ah, 2 runs. 1 special, 1 physical that makes more sense. I didnt think you'd be stuck on 1 battle for almost 45 min of video (which would probably be like 4+ hrs of your real time). That was a good video, very well done.

This video is fantastic, and I love the twist. I was expecting to wait but I'll take the longer video gladly.

Back in the day me and my little brother both had a GBA and a linking set so the trade evolutions were super easy for us. - I named my Alakazam "Fear" because it just crushed any- and everything.

I knew this was going to have a twist, I made an Abra run in Emerald and as soon as I got THIEF the run became easier, then soon after with Psychic it was a joke until Tate and Liza but yeah, really easy. Im about to watch the Physical Only part

At least it was just a struggle and not a struggle snuggle. That's reserved for Hypno runs and believe you me he has the pp left.

I told a friend about this challenge. When they learned that after defeating Red Jrose went and did it with only physical moves, his only reaction was "ew". This man's patience and dedication are impressive.
