Hm.... I wonder if the hammer hitting the spring would have helped get pass the Chemical Plant Zone Act 2 problem though. I'm unsured on the advance mechanics since I've only played the first during my childhood, but I could potentially imagine since Amy's hammer attack can be used at any time (since it's meant to be her spindash) and when she hits springs she gets hit higher and can even carry momentum. Would be unsure if it would work on the spring for chemical plant, but my thinking is if Amy was in Mania, she would be able to time a hammer hit to where she hits the spring at a 4:30 direction (just trying to describe a direction of the hammer), she would move left allowing you to minimize a press. This is just me speculating though since I haven't played Advance for a long time and am not familiar with Amy's Mechanics.

In science, when a word ends in “-ity” (Ex. viscosity, elasticity, etc.), it’s describing a physical property of something that can be measured (ex. how viscous or elastic something is). Likewise, I’m pretty sure that the name “Hydrocity Zone” isn’t referring to how “hydro” the zone is, nor can that be measured. It’s not a measurable property of the zone. So I’m almost certain that Hydrocity is meant to be a hydro-city. A water city

It *is* pronounced "Hydro City", because when you clear the game with a save file, you can select a zone to go to in that save file, and the zone names are 3-letter abbreviations. Green Hill Zone is "GHZ", Chemical Plant Zone is "CPZ" and so on. Guess what Hydrocity/Hydro City is called? That's right. It's "HCZ". I rest my case.

Theoretically, this challenge could still be possible in Mania Mode. If we were to use a second controller to control Tails use his ability to pick up Sonic to carry him right. Of course, since Tails can’t pick Sonic up off the ground underwater. So Sonic would need to jump to grab on to Tails. Then Tails could carry Sonic to the right. Granted, this would be tough as a human. So perhaps someone could test this theory in a TAS (on PC). Unless moving right as Tails counts as breaking the rules. Idk just a thought.

There is a noclip glitch at one point in HYDRO CITY where you can interrupt knuckles' animation causing the game to break all collision and gou can glide all the way to the boss

Actually billehbawb, it was 5 left presses because of lava reef act 2 with slowing down your momentum after coming out of the pipe facing left. So that would still make a left press. Also, how do you start a turn around by pressing left if you are already facing left. You are facing left when you get shot out of the pipe. To turn around, you would have to press right. I'm just confused. But I know that if you really had to hold left to slow down your momentum to do this trick, that makes 5 left presses because you are still technically pressing left. I'm also confused on that too. I mean no offense but, it's true at the same. I get it, the truth hurts sometimes but, telling the truth is always better than lying. For those who disagree with that are totally wrong. Like I said, I mean no offense, I would never offend good and cool people like you and pro and even Nathaniel bandy. I'm just trying to help. I've always been doing everything I can to help out in my life. It's what I do for a living because I know helping out is a good thing. But, from what I saw, I can tell that it's 5 left presses. I do like your videos, I just was recently watching your videos about Mario maker 2 and sonic R and Mario cart and why they are in shopping carts and sonic 4 without homing attack which by the way, u font see a way to skip the homing in mad gear act 2. I played it for myself and found... nothing so ...and that is with no glitch and no mod. I also watched sonic advanced without left or right and all 3 sonic vs chat videos. I loved them. So I really do. I will tell proa that I really thank him for helping you with this sonic mania challenge. Also, if anyone here uses favoritism between you and Nathaniel bandy, I HATE favoritism. It destroys me now looking back at it and seeing that in me before. Anyway, I may not be a member of your youtube group but, I still am willing to help as much as I can without being a member for the simple fact that I don't actually have the money for it but when I get my own money saved up when I get older if you are still making videos and if I'm still alive by then and if I have the money when the time comes, I will think about trying it out. I made a youtube video of my own doing the no left or right challenge in sonic mania. One thing though, there are 4 differences between my run and your run. 1, I'm showing an actually playthrough so everyone will see every single thing I do every second. 2, I'm only doing this on strictly one mode (mania mode) that meaning if there is no way I can avoid a right and/or left press, then so be it for me. 3, when I make the next part of my run, in chemical plant act 2 during the boss, I will tell them to come and watch part 1 of your run if they haven't yet because it would take me too much time within a video to get good luck like that therefore, I will give you and proa the credit on that. And 4, my videos will be maybe a bit longer if not almost the same. than yours in some parts. So if there is a way to skip left press in lava reef 2 with momentum trick, please let me know.
