I really like the idea of these Bamboo bikes. Can't wait to see final impressions.

It's been over a year since this build began. Did you ever complete it? Many of us would like know your impressions of the bike.

All of that hand sanding to get the parts just small enough to fit. If you’re into doing everything by hand with the minimum amount of power tools a Shopsmith comes to mind. One tool to rule them all… You could use it as a vertical sander. Lathe, or vertical drill press. And switch from one to the other in seconds. A afternoon job becomes a 15 minute walk in the park. And it doesn’t matter if it’s a new one either. They’ve been around for decades. A lot of enthusiasts make a hobby of it rebuilding older machines… That afternoon of working on just one bike frame? You could have turned them out by the dozens.

the tubes seem very easy to slot into the lug. probably tighter fit will be safer?
@stevec4013 жыл бұрын
You do need to have a gap for the adhesive to go into, otherwise all of the adhesive will be pushed out when the tube is inserted into the lug. Something like a 0.2mm gap will give you a better structural build (this does depend on the type of adhesive used and the materials being bonded)
@BamboobicycleclubOrg3 жыл бұрын
@@stevec401 Yep a gap is needed.
