I've had people on Instagram and Facebook asking me what I've done to my M11A1. Here's a video of everything I've done to it to get it to be perfect for me. Feel free to send any questions to Fallinghammerinc@gmail.com.
Milos from www.armorycraft.com was kind enough to send me a pre-sale trigger to review. Thank you to Milos and Armory Craft for sending me your products to review, without asking for anything in return but my thoughts. (I was not paid for this)
He contacted me with this message for my viewers:
Thank you for posting this video. We at Armory Craft are proud to be the the "First & Original" coming to the market with flat (as well as 'slightly curved') adjustable triggers for SIG P220 226 227 228 229 as well as M11-A1 pistols.
There are now 2 special coupons for $10 OFF for the viewers of this channel:
HAMMER10 to be used for the flat version
HAMMER10C to be used for the 'slightly curved' version.
(Please use all caps when entering the coupon code during checkout)

Final note and thanks: Gun channels on KZbin have been demonetized and have been under extreme scrutiny and unjust bias for being on the right side of the spectrum. After being a fan of many channels for a while now, I've decided to create my own touching on breakdowns I couldn't find, gun parts that aren't mass advertised and thoughts about things I don't believe get enough attention.
I'd like to thank an give credit to the channels I follow the most (in no particular order):
Theyankeemarshal
Neverenuffammo
Gunwebsites
Iraqveteran8888
DemolitionRanch
Offtheranch
Forgotten Weapons
Military Arms Channel
22plinkster

I know I forgot some and will add them as I remember them.
This entire video was filmed, edited and posted using my Google Pixel XL.

I have a Legion P226. Your gun looks cool, and may shoot a little better, but it cost more to make than I bought my Legion for. Sig says you can't build a gun with Legion capability for less and that appears to hold true.

Thanks for the reminder on coupon code , they are ordered and on there way . The 229 357 sig barrel is great idea , I’m also considering the 9mm conversion barrel but would have to buy mags , where with 357 sig barrel no need . I actually like the 40 s&w in the 229 and shoot it accurately. The 220 has a new barrel and recoil spring just installed and spring and pin kit . The trigger in 220 is short reach trigger which is great for small hands ( I have medium size hand and it doesn’t work well for me ) . So the new trigger should cure most of my issues. I will polish most or all worn surfaces internally. I will follow up with you when finished . Thanks agin for your response K . FYI we have all rescues in our house 2 huskies and Pom .

Not to be a copy cat or nuthin but my M-11 A1 is a dupe of yours now except for sights lol. It’s always been one of my favorite SIG’s though my p220 in 45 is my fav to Choot ! Luv a 45. I REALLY appreciated your trial and error as it relates to finding that “just right “ upgrade. Again thank you for your time. It helped me get my M-11 even better. And most importantly, thank you for the tag at the end to adopt a shelter pet !!! Big fan of Sigs here, so great job with the custom work you did! I’ve never had a flat trigger before, but I’ve heard lots of good things about the Apex triggers. Also it’s nice to see someone else who can appreciate the splendor of the .357 Sig!! I almost bought a Springfield chambered in .357 Sig some years back, but got a Glock 32 instead. I’m trying to save up for a Sig Nightmare Fastback carry that’s (you guessed it) chambered in .357 Sig, but it’s close to $1k so I may just get a .229.......especially after seeing your Part 1 & 2 on your .229! Thanks for the videos : )

Your going to hate me, I ordered and paid for a nightmare carry 2 weeks ago. As soon as I get back to AZ I'm picking it up. We do have very similar tastes! I fell in love with the 1911 and that was the only one in 357sig I could find. And it's a sig so it's a win win.

Ha, not at all......maybe a little envious LOL Just kidding! The first time I saw a review on this thing I was like: “.357 Sig....check, 1911......check! Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a caliber snob by any means, it’s just that I tend to prefer .357 Sig, 10mm, and .44 magnum. Sure, I have handguns in 9mm, .357 magnum, and .45, but everyone has their favorites right?? That’s awesome you’re getting the Nightmare Carry soon, and you’ll be doing a review right? (hint, hint)

I have a P226 Legion SAO, and two standard P229’s. With the P229’s, I added the SRT kit, Trijicon HD sights, replaced the decocker with a smaller part, and added Hogue checkered G-10 grips. I replaced the hammer spring with a one step down spring, so they’re all equal to me. I like the fat 229 trigger, and it’s apples and oranges to compare the SAO trigger with the SA/DA, but the SAO is a delight at the range.

I did recently buy two new p220 legion guns in the 45 and 10mm. I like some of the features the legions have. Mine have the optic cuts with the RMR and Delta point pro. Overall I totally agree about the legion membership because my brother traded for a P226 legion and he cannot buy anything from the legion store. I let him use my account if needed. Lol. Great video. I usually prefer building my preferred guns to get what I want. In this case the legion filled that well.

Sigs are great handguns , but as you know they need tweaked lol . And yes you can make them as good or better than the legion series. Not a fan of the slot headed grip screws either but there used in case you have to remove the grips while out in the field. You can back them out with a spent brass, chances are your not going to always have a hex tool out in the field with you. I have several Sig's and love them all but always swap out 4 things on them, grips, grip screws, solid stainless guide rod and they all get the SRT kit installed. My Legion got me used to the short take up so now I install the kit in all my Sig's. About 20 minutes of work that makes a big difference in how the gun performs.

I agree 100% those changes make a world of difference!

It is funny that you have to buy a Legion to be able to buy certain things that are only available to those that buy them...like it's a big secret...lol! That X5 should entitle you to but whatever you want from them, seriously. Ive tried the Armory Craft triggers but I like the GG triggers more. I've got several Sig's, a P227, a P229 Elite, a P220, a P226 Legion that has a great trigger, reset and better night sights than the standard Siglite night sights, better grip due to frame cutout under trigger guard/front strap, I have a MK 25 that I had a Gray Guns straight trigger, SRT kit and competition spring kit installed on that has given it a sweet trigger, about 2-1/2 to 3# pull in SA and 6-1/2 to 7# DA and a great reset, I have a SP2022 in .357sig that has a better stock trigger than P-series Guns....IMO, it only costs half of what the standard P-series Sig costs and I shoot it better than any of them.....go figure. That SP2022 is a totally underrated, overlooked and under appreciated simply gun because it's a polymer hammer fired Sig and not a P-series/Legion series gun. I've never tried an X series but that X5 is a sweet looking Sig and one I would love to have, might have to sell off a couple of the ones I don't ever use and get one. The Legions are nice Guns but they are really just a hyped up version of the standard P-series with a few options that make it better in a few ways, but it really is about marketing to make more $$ on a line that already exists...and yes I can talk shit about them because I do have one. They do have a better frame as far as getting a good high grip due to the cutout on the front strap but that extended beaver tail is unnecessary, the X-Ray sights are better sights....that front sight really pops in the daylight and e serrated rear sight is nice, and the trigger and reset is exceptionally sweet. I also bought an Arex Rex Zero after watching the gauntlet test between it and a Legion and I can say that other than the plastic grips, they are a great gun and accurate as hell right out of the box. The Arex Alpha looks like a great competition gun and will be on my next purchase list and they have a Delta model which is their toss into the striker fired ring. They are a force to be reckoned with....great guns, great quality and craftsmanship. Oh and P.S......Glock sucks!...lol...I agree, they are just an overhyped block of shit, the grip angle sucks, the plastic sights suck and the triggers suck.....so yeah...they suck. I hear the glocktards crying now!

Just a follow up to the 220 and 229 project, the trigger upgraded to both pistols , springs and polished internals . Greatest improvement was with 229 great results. But 220 is still gritty in double action trigger pull . Not sure what is causing it , will continue to try different spring weights ( hammer) and sear . All internal contact points stoned and polished ( parts are all coated with black slick material very little wear seen ) I was told about a part called super strut ($65 )eliminates hammer spring bend and safety failures , and supposedly drops trigger weight ,what are your thoughts . If you are ever in Indiana, you can shoot mine sometime. I know they are for sale used, and mine was used, but very well maintained. I thought it was a great deal when I bought it a few years back. Although it still has original white sights on it, I would like to change them out one day, but they are so dead on that I really kind of don't want to mess with it. That one is perfect out the box. Granted, best part of the M11A1 is that it can use the original P228 mags and the P229 15 rounders (as well as the P226 mags too), so I really don't have to get any special for it.

Not to mention you did your own trigger job which would realistically be 2-300 by a reputable (non voiding warranty) like Robert Burke. Legion is a way better pistol, and with a trigger job and a flat trigger (which I prefer) it looks better and will be much better overall, especially in finish/quality.
@TheFallingHammer
@TheFallingHammer 5 жыл бұрын
How is it way better? The finish is known to wear extremely fast, all the internal parts are the same except for the trigger. I don't like the grips on the legion and would swap the sights so it's pretty equal in my book. Minus false notion of it being way better than other sigs and a coin.

@@TheFallingHammer I'm no "Legion" fan. I like the other areas like the beaver tail and the checkering on the grip and trigger guard. As well as the higher placement for your middle finger under the guard. I also like the milling on the front of the slide. And I love the hogue grips. I paid 900 for my legion in .40. I love the legion for what it is because I don't want to do a thing to it with aftermarket parts which is rare for me. I did knock the slide release out 10 degrees for less painful to the edge of the thumb slide drops along with taking some emory cloth lightly to the tips of the diamonds on the g10 grips for less fabric grabbing when under my shirt but besides that modifying a standard 226 would have cost more without selling the old parts to redeem some of the changes. @J B Sure, 1 You can buy hogue grips from the hogue site (without the gawdy legion branding) 2 AC flat face trigger 3 Sig SRT 4 MECGAR magazine with higher capacity at lower price point 5 The beaver tail, PVD finish, undercut, and stippling add little in the way in competitive shooting, and are of dubious value. The money is better spent elsewhere to really make the pistol performance ready. At the end of the day you're still under $400 budget constraint with a better gun.
@muffemod
@muffemod 3 жыл бұрын
@J B Did you pass high school level math? $100+$160+$40+$27 = $327, well under the $400 mark. Besides when I bought my kit it was with coupon code and black friday so I got it for $229 shipped. The SAO P226 have been out for years before the Legion marketing drop so I'm not really sure what you're talking about SAO being a Legion exclusive. The Legion grips are made by hogue in the same factory so the grips are effectively the same if not better for the hogue because you can choose how aggressive or light you want. PVD is the new kid on the block but I didn't find the nitron finish lacking, or warranting the need for PVD. The undercut on the frame is nice but not as nice as a custom trigger that blows the Legion trigger out of the water. Seeing as the trigger will impact shooting more than a minimal relief cut under the trigger guard, stippling, or beaver tail; I'll gladly pass on the $400 markup and get the custom trigger and extra cash to spend on ammo and range time. Look if you're happy with Legion all the power to you. It's better than the standard models. But comparing a stock factory offering from Sig to a custom modified tricked out Sig is comparing apples to oranges. The Legion is left in the dust.
@muffemod
@muffemod 3 жыл бұрын
@J B I'm not refusing to acknowledge the upgraded frame (stippling, beavertail, undercut, PVD). Most shooters will see them as welcomed additions, but to call them major performance upgrades is "dubious" because most shooters will be able to shoot a stock frame and Legion frame just as well with similar accuracy, draw time, follow up time, etc. Similarly my commute to work will be the same time whether in a VW sedan or Audi sports car. The enhancements are nice for the ride, but they get to the same place in the same time. So yes there are enhancements to ergonomics with Legion ($400 worth is up to the consumer to decide) but real world translatable performance compared to a tricked out base model P226 is going to be a tough sell for those who have any competency with basic gunsmithing and shooting fundamentals.

Why are Glock people wrong for thinking theirs are the best whenever you think your Sig is the best? Why aren't you calling out CZ people? M&P people? PPQ people? VP9 people? Both are worthless. The carry case is only good for vehicle transport or something to that effect, but really as a weapon case it is very cheap.
