I own a M11-A1 and have shot the 229 Legion. The Legion has a slightly smoother/lighter DA pull and the controls are smaller. The Legion is an upgrade and a pistol I plan to own, but will never sell my M11-A1 to get one. When you're sitting in your easy chair, the DA trigger may seem heavy, but when you're runnin' and gunnin', you don't even notice it. Do like me, keep the M11-A1 and save for the Legion, I know it will be worth it. But if you have to sell the M11-A1, give me a call!

So I have several Sig's, including the M11A1D and the Legion 229. My M11A1 has around 4000 rounds through it, including 700 in an afternoon outdoor range session. The trigger is well broken and incredibly smooth. It's so smooth that when I initially purchased the Legion, I didn't think much of the trigger. However, after a few range visits, the Legion trigger started to shine, especially in DA. It is the better trigger, hands down so IMO, I would choose the Legion.

like the M11....it is a heavy carry....that said, everything else about the pistol works. another great carry weapon is the CZ 75 D compact. lighter than the M11 great stock trigger and perfect grip right out of the box.

I love my M11-A1 25th Anniversary! I am a pretty new shooter but this pistol with that heavy DA pull has made me a better shooter IMO. It is heavy but not terrible! Ha! Keep up the good work gents!

have owned and shot mucho Sig pistols .sold and traded many of those as I moved up the up the sig pistol line.the only Sig I haven't owned was the M 11A1(make that statement past tense) I took my Sig Legion(sans LEGION coin/way swell pistol bag) and traded it for a brand spanking new M11 A1 pistol. the sales person asked me why I was trading "down" from the legion, didn't I know that the Legion was top of the line?? I asked him if he had been in the service, he said yeah...Air Force. I said that explains it . he says explains what?? I said that back in 1969,on a tiny island off the Carolina coast, during "troop and stomp" our DI would tell us stories of life in the air force...they got to make calls home, took trips to the PX,were always asked if they wanted to drill or just walk around a little before going to breakfast(not chow).what branch of the service were you in?,he asked....Marine Corps I answered.Ohhh, I see. you guys are animals.not really I said, but we do know something about guns and in my opinion, the Sig M11A1 is a keeper.

love my m11 a1. added the e2 grips and it gave it a thinner grip profile, and it significantly improved the da pull. lighter spring also helped. great shooter and reliable.

I have nearly every Sig and most Beretta pistols. The legion is a very nice platform. After putting a couple thousand rounds through both, I can comfortably say that the trigger and action are appreciably better on the 229 legion than the m11. keep up the great vids on your channel. Semper Fi.

Obviously by name you can tell I love glocks but I have a 226 Legion DA/SA and god it's amazing!!! The X-Ray sights are absolutely amazing and the shaved down controls allow me to operate the gun without causing a failure to lock back. If you get the 229 Legion you won't be disappointed!!

I have the same exact gun and had the same issues with the trigger, if you want to save some money install a Grayguns Precision Adjustable Intermediate Trigger and a reduced weight hammer spring. this arrangement save me a couple hundred dollars. I am very pleased at how it shoots now.

I'm a little late chiming in but if you haven't decided yet here's my two cents. I've had my P229 Legion for five months chambered in 357 Sig. The trigger sold me on this weapon. I take full advantage of all the checkering that is strategically placed on the trigger guard and the grips. If I had one complaint as an EDC it is a little chunky and heavy. But all the other features such as a silky smooth double action trigger pull to the decent sight radius outweigh the negative. It is a dream to shoot and a beast at the range. No regrets.

I've got a 229 two tone chambered in 40 S&W with a 357 sig spare barrel and it's a sweet gun the thing is a tack driver I absolutely Love mine and I've owned a 226 it was Awesome as well but the 229 is my fav by far of any pistol I've ever owned I say go for it

I know this is an old video but you can change the grips on it. IF you noticed the grips don't fit like they do on a old 228. E2 grips would be nice. On my M11 fde I put legion sights on too. I also switched to a fat trigger. The heavy trigger didnt bother me so much. It's standard trigger is too skinny.

My son bought P226 Legion and I having been in the Navy got the 226 MK25.....his Legion has better sight and trigger but the MK25 is no slouch ....in time I might upgrade sights, anyway that SRT is really nice

I have an M11 in my safe. It's quickly overtaken my 1911's to become my favorite pistol. It shoots well, the sights are top notch, it looks cool, and it's way easier to break down and clean than my 1911's are. If I had one gripe, I'd say that the magazines are hard/clumsy for me to load. Getting that 15th round in is a bi*ch!! Very good video and review, thank you!!

The Legion is just a more solid pistol. It does everything better. It's buttery smooth. the recoil is barely felt. It's not heavy but it feels very solid. I always find a way to test before purchasing. We test drive cars, why not pistols? Good luck which ever way you decide. ✌

This pistol, the M11 A1 has the same trigger as the Legion, the SRT. Pulse this has been rated for military use, meaning the inside parts are also phosphate coated for protection, don't think the Legion has that either. This is a Legion with a few additions that the Legion doesn't have except the logo!

Get the legion it's awesome. On my M11 I put a 18 lbs hammer spring and the thicker Sig trigger and it made a drastically better double action try it you'll like it. Great vids guys thank you.

*Underappreciated classic* A great pistol that does not get the attention it deserves. Great to see it does not have a rail as I think putting a light on pistols causes more problems that it solves (notably misuse as a flashlight and accidental discharges), which should only be operated by the support hand as with long arm mounted lights. If you are in a low light situation where illumination is needed then the support hand should be holding a flashlight, so how are you going to operate the weapon mounted light effectively while holding the flashlight? Using two illumination aids is a recipe for disaster in a high stress situation. I also don't like the look of most handgun rails, with the multi-slot Picatinny rails being especially ugly and prone to catching on clothing if no light is fitted, while fitting a light to a pistol adds bulk and could adversely affect the operation of a polymer frame pistol depending on its size, weight, or the clamping force applied to the frame. Aside from the nicer trigger (and wonderful G10 grips) on the P229 Legion....look at it this way...as much as you like the M11, you'll probably always want/wish you had the Legion. If you get the Legion and like it, you probably won't miss the M11. ;-)

A SIG is worth keeping. The heavy trigger is for me a safety device that only requires training. And once gou master that, you can confidently carry the pistol knowing that any fool that wants to tangle with you will have the odds against him

How does the M11's Ds/SA compare to the CZ's? I have an older German made P220 with the SRT trigger upgrade and a few other enhancements, I love it and it is a better trigger (now) than my stock CZ SP-01. I'll eventually send the SP-01 off for trigger work.

Hey, B9 or Jr, how has the finish held up on the Sig M11a1 FDE? When I went to see it in a store they no longer had the black version which I prefer; they only had the FDE one. Does your FDE Sig even see any holster time?

great comments on the mods for the m11 but I'd get the legion and keep both. then definitely mod the m11. then you can run a rail gun and non rail gun and then produce a m11 vs legion video.

did you get the 229? Ill tell you how i feel. ANY Sig is worth having! They are their own little trophies. Please, dont collect regrets and sale any!! They are great guns and hold their value. The 228 is a great gun! and so is the 226, 229 and many more. Great guns to pass down in the family also. They make me want to hang them on the wall as art. Dont think, just buy and enjoy is my words when it come to guns!

MAC channel did a torture test of the Legion. I don't know if that would sway u one way or another.

Someone explain to me what demands the price tag of almost 1k on this gun?? I just don't understand how I can get decent prices on full size sigs and police trade ins but the M11A1's are always stupid expensive! Plus other companies usually make a similar type firearm for half the price and same performance.

Your hand hurts because you’re shooting left handed, look at the grip contour, it isn’t made thinking of comforting lefties. The grip contour favors righties. I have a mk25 and shoot with both hands, right hand is more comfortable.

Toon Moonen i have one and carry it everyday. i love it but thats my opinion. shoots very well. only complain for me is the grips. eventually ill put other grips on but for now its pretty good. reason for different grips is that if you use a holster like a safari, it tends to rub on your side when your sitting down. unless you wear an under shirt. hopes this helps you out. good luck. stay safe.

Toon Moonen had no issues. firsr time shooting i put 500 rds with federal 115 grain with ease. shot pretty good. has tight groups. my stepson never shot before and he was doing really good too. vert easy to control. love it.

The sticker will come off on it's own after the gun heats up and gets cleaned a few times. My sticker is on the gun's case. Crazy accurate weapon.
