@@brucebanner3566 Getting shredded isn't just exercise dependant. With a good work ethic, practicing perfect TRX technique, a slow calorie deficit, consistent good nutrition and working on good foundational pillars (sleep, stress and gut health) - yes you absolutely can get shredded. When used it regularly, I was shocked when I did a bench press with a barbell. I started with 180 lbs. Hadn't done a bench press in two years. Usually when just starting Bench press, maximum 125 lbs for 7 reps. Explanation, TRX works many stability muscles balancing, which makes it very great full body workout. With great strength benefits I did not expect transfered. Rope jumping is another great fitness tool.

Great video. Can I ask do you use the TRX to do a split routine or a full body routine? Which do you think is better?
@fitnessfreedomathletes
@fitnessfreedomathletes 3 жыл бұрын
Hey there. I was doing a PUSH LEGS PULL split for quite a while. It's what led to me develop this Program: trxtraveller.com/product/ultimate-trx-physique-sculpting-program/ Currently I'm doing full body high intensity workouts about 3 times a week as I'm developing a new Program for just that. Personally I would say the split depends on your level of experience and more importantly your mind-muscle connection. As with most I've always had success with PUSH LEGS PULL as a basis but for many starting out with TRX exercise I've found good success with clients on a 3/4 full body rotation training 4 times a week. Ultimately it all comes down to the best exercises for you which dictate the split. By that I mean the exercises where you can violently contract a muscle through it's full range of motion and really feel the muscle squeezing and getting pumped it.

Hey there, sure thing, glad it was useful. In all honesty so long as it's solid it doesn't matter. There's no need to always spend a lot of money on one if you are just wanting to try it out. What matters is your technique, mind-muscle connection and ability to contract a muscle correctly through the range of motion. The tool (TRX in this instance) is secondary. I used this cheap one for 3 years travelling the world: amzn.to/2GyFZyr I have also used the Decathlon suspension trainer fine, which is very cheap. In my TRX Studio I have a few TRX GO: amzn.to/3anxe58 for my clients. Purely because it was a Christmas treat to myself haha They feel and look a bit nicer for the money. Hope that helps :)

Amazing and really engaging 👍🏻 My question to you please, at one point I was fairly fit, had a really bad rotator cuff tear, I’ve been out of action for probably eight or nine years and it’s now functional again, After much therapy and cortisone injections, deep tissue massages et cetera and Band work as well. So I am now able to move the shoulder really well, without any pain at all. Although I have kettle bells, which I do to a lesser degree, I have put on a fair bit of weight in the period of time where I sustained injury. Now that I have invested in a set of suspension trainers, for someone that is older, and overweight, to start suspension training, how many sets and reps would you advise as a starting point. I totally appreciate the fact that it’s probably going to be an individual thing, but is there anything you could suggest as a starting point. Keep rambling, absolutely amazing, motivating and engaging .... Much thanks, Steve Uk :-)
@fitnessfreedomathletes
@fitnessfreedomathletes 3 жыл бұрын
I would say 2 sets is enough, between 8-10 reps and with a 222 tempo. Focus on technique and really squeezing the muscle at the top range. Your body will adapt eventually and then intensity can be increased.

Hey there. Thank you for the comment! There's a variety that I use in the Programs. It's nothing new. The same strategies that have been around for a long time, it's the understanding of how to execute them correctly with a TRX that changes. Some that I develop into the TRX Programs are: time under tension, reps, sets, drop sets, super sets, giant sets etc and most importantly the advancement of mind - muscle connection utilising isometrics, paused top contractions etc

@@Mysticmonnz I can understand where you are coming from. Years ago when I was younger, I believed muscle building could not exist without a gym / weights. Many years later - I've packed on more muscle using a TRX in my own space than I ever did in a gym. There's many reasons for this (most I cover in this vid) but the biggest eye opener is that the muscle doesn't know what you are holding, all it knows is the amount of powerful tension and contraction one can place upon it through a range of motion. Mind - muscle and perfect technique is the key. The TRX just happens to be a handy thing to hold to do that with.

Trying not to use any element but finally I realized that for some muscles there is no options than TRX. So I'll use it as soon as it arrives home. What’s the difference between TRX and gymnastic rings? They seem similar in what they do.
@davepazz580
@davepazz580 3 жыл бұрын
This particular TRX in the video has a single-anchor point that splits into a Y-shape (to have 2 handles)... whereas gymnastics rings have 2 separate and fully individual anchor points and handles. And obviously, gymnastics rings have a full-circle handle while TRX and most suspension trainers have a conventional handle. For me, the 2 most fundamental muscle-building exercises are pull-ups and dips... and they are *much* more comfortable to do on gymnastics rings or any suspension trainer that has 2 separate individual anchor points (as opposed to the TRX's single Y-split version). Those are the main differences... I'd say if your specific goal in training is gymnastics-related, then go with gymnastics rings. But for normal training, the TRX will be fine...
@fitnessfreedomathletes
@fitnessfreedomathletes 3 жыл бұрын
It would depend on your goal. If it was to be a gymnast I'd say most definitely the rings. If it was general fitness, the only thing that matters in my opinion is - which one allows you to most effectively perform an exercise through its full range of motion that suits your individual biomechanical needs. Allowing you to then focus on the internal feeling and violent muscle contraction of each of those exercises. For me that's a TRX, I've used gym rings but they don't feel as comfortable or as accessible for me biomechanically. Hope that helps

IG thumb-stopping movement TRX videos VS muscle-centric TRX exercise. Agreed happens with all fitness tools/fads dating right back to when it was only magazines promoting. However, for those who utilise its potential with intent and mind-muscle connection, the tool (a TRX in this instance) is irrelevant. Just happens to be useful for the given task. The muscle doesn't know what it's holding, only the tension and violent contraction it feels through a rage of motion. The same principle can be achieved/applied with a beer can.

Hi Adam, I have a question...why on earth are you so cautious in advising over 65s not to undertake your programme on the website? I am 64. I have never used a gym, but am reasonably fit through a life of swimming and running and using resistance bands historically and more recently, over the last 5 years, trx. I take great inspiration from you and Red Delta Project in this. Trx is, in my opinion, great for seniors when using good resources as those named. You like RDP emphasize safety, mind body connection and the body/ muscle focus when using suspension training as a tool...which is the precise reason I benefit using this equipment as a training tool. Maybe you are unaware you have older people watching your channel and learning from you...you do! Maybe do a few vids aimed at your more senior viewers. Anyways, brilliant content on your channel. There's more to being healthy, strong, fit and a an overall machine of a human than gaining some muscle. Sure you can build muscle with this, but suspension training has much more valuable attributes than muscle growth. Its training your core, stability, its portable, its functional and super quick and easy for the same results as weights and is far better for your joints as it moves in more realistic ranges of motion that you use in the real world

In terms muscle building, the TRX is really going to deliver the same overall results that weights do provided one trains hard and consistently enough... But what throws off people's perceptions about what muscle building really is are images of professional bodybuilders in media and dedicated weight trainers who maximize their caloric intake... i.e. take in *way* more calories on a daily basis than the average person would. In the case of professional bodybuilders, we all know that most of that vast size comes from anabolic drugs that flood their systems with more testosterone than even 10 guys could produce at once... so the question of weights playing a role in that result are negligible. And in the case of dedicated weight trainers who go on high-calorie diets, they will of course will have much larger muscle size and be way more developed than the average person... But is that all because of weight training? It plays a role of course, but I really think if you had them consume a more normal-calorie diet that most would be on, they wouldn't achieve even half the muscle building results they ultimately get when upping the calories to such a high degree despite all the weights they are pushing. Point being that training yourself to lift progressively heavier and heavier weights over time will favor one to consume *more* calories to pack on more weight to more *efficiently* lift that increasingly heavier poundage (yes, even if that extra weight is in the form of blubber). This situation is the opposite with suspension training... as with everything that requires better body movement through space, it favors one to become *leaner* to more effectively progress and become stronger. So the general public will look at the dedicated weight trainer who consumes a lot of calories to supplement his heavy lifts and compare him to someone who specializes in bodyweight training and only see the weight trainer is naturally much larger physically... and they will conclude it's because one lifts weights and the other doesn't. Meanwhile, take that same guy lifting weights and lower his calories and try to achieve a similar leanness level that the bodyweight athlete has... and when he does achieve it, you'll notice that their muscle size will be very comparable *despite* one lifting weights and the other lifting only his body.

An interesting and thought provoking read. Thank you. I simply see it as - ‘the muscle doesn’t know what you’re holding (dumbbell or handle) all it knows is the constant tension and violent contraction one can place upon it through a range of motion’ The tool (TRX or dumbbell) used to do so is irrelevant. It’s the mindful muscle connection and intent that matters. The TRX just happens to be a very handy tool for fitness anywhere.

I've never used steroids, whilst exploring the body's ability to develop muscle for longevity does fascinate me. It never has to the extent of seeking to build or push my body further for the sake of 'muscle'. It's using workouts as meditations and connecting the mind, body and soul as one in our own space and time, that is my passion. The physique happens to be the by-product of that focus.
