You can blend crayons but there is a trick to it. After you color in the first layer lightly, you then use the putter part of your scissors or some medal edge that isn’t sharp to lightly scrape out the wax. Afterwards, you can use the crayon you want to blend it on to blend it. The harder you press it, the thicker the color is. It’s also important to make sure you’re coloring on a flat paper without texture or else it’s going to look ugly.

You can smooth the texture of the crayons with a card, pallet knife or melt it smooth with a blow dryer and a blending stump. Just make sure you press hard when your coloring. Also to get nice blending u have to press pretty hard and layer the Color’s on top of each other, it’s a tricky art supply to work with especially if you don’t know how to use them properly

pretty nice coloured parrot :) you can blend with them, usually lol just lots of light layers or you can heat them up and try that way

Use the dull metal part of your scissors or a metal edge that isn’t sharp (back of a butter knife) to scrape off the wax from the surface after coloring. I’ve used crayons that everyone thought was from colored pencils because of how professional and vibrant it looks.

I think your title might have been create beautiful art with a cheap crayon? A Professional Artist can create with any medium. I have seen amazing Art created with some crap items! It may not last a long time as with an archival medium, but these days a scanner, professional printer and pigment inks will allow any creation to last a lifetime! I like your bird and think you will create many more lovely artworks!
