Isn't it singularly Christian, not Judeo, that truth is embodied in Christ the one who brings peace, consistency, order to the physical and spiritual universe and is the one who holds everything together? That's not in Judaism.

The order of nature - One thing for certain is that the Universe will unfold as it will and that it does not care about us whatsoever.

Somehow it unfolded in such a way that life and beauty are in abundance on this one planet. Coincidence?

@@marieindia8116 On this planet? How about untold others. If one understands how the universe works as we know it today, one will understand the very real likelihood of this. So far we are still in grade 2.

Actually religion held science back till the Renaissance Period
@greatminds10172 жыл бұрын
In the Renaissance period, religion was still very dominant. Religious people still made scientific discoveries, so when people now claim that belief in God holds science back while learning about these same people in public schools it's quite interesting to me.
@imafeltersnatch76342 жыл бұрын
@@greatminds1017 Possibly it's comprehension you lack. History ( something else religion doesn't " believe " in) will clearly show what happened during the Renaissance Period. Are you arguing from opinion or the historical record?
@greatminds10172 жыл бұрын
@@imafeltersnatch7634 you'd have to explain why religion doesn't "believe" in history. Also I know that yes there were many susperstitions and even the Roman Catholic church going against scientific discoveries, but still like I mentioned there were many who were religious and contributed greatly to form the basis of many fields of science and there are many who still do.

@@greatminds1017 Religion obviously doesn't use history in support for historical accuracy dose it?
@greatminds10172 жыл бұрын
@@imafeltersnatch7634 give me an example. As a matter of fact the Bible is filled with historial people, nations and events. Even the rise and fall of major kingdoms and the order which it happens is there, it has events that happened, and is happening. Some argue that the great flood never occured. Yet there are flood Legends in all major civilisations and geographic evidence for it. The fact that we have earthquakes today can even be linked to it. Even archeologists have found evidence of nations only mentioned in the Bible before. And Christians still learn about history like everyone else. If You want to believe You evolved from a money or that animals evolved over time when the very first start of Fossil récords clearly shows otherwise with the sudden appearance of complex creatures, be my guest. Christians just take the position that the history of our world isn't random, and it makes sense because the probability of it happening like that is so low, it's impossible. Biology, chemistry, physics are all pretty complex branches of science for a reason.

This "judeo-Christian" hyphenation has to just go.

I respectfully disagree. Christianity first began as a sect of Judaism, preaching the news about the arrival of the Messiah. Only later was it fully felt that Christianity was a completely different religion from Judaism, especially after the conversion of mostly non Jewish born Gentile people into Christianity. If simplified way too much, Judaism says that the Messiah has not arrived yet while Christianity says that the Messiah has already arrived through Jesus. All the very first Christians were Jewish. Jesus was a Jew. Christianity and Judaism are very, very connected.
@ethimself50642 жыл бұрын
@@RobertF- In reality Christ never existed. Study the Ancient Roman Historical records of the day. The christian bible was compiled by the powers of Rome and the powers of the Jews in about 325 AD, with the so called manuscripts of who really knows who and thousands tossed out. Mix and match to fit anything they wanted to stick. I do admit that there as a lot of words of wisdom in the new testament as is there in most religious texts or for that matter philosophies.

@@ethimself5064 I've heard people claim Jesús wasn't real, yet many secular historians say he was. Whoever he was, he was more than just an imaginary character in a story. Doesn't matter what the Romans of those days thought. There were other ancient writers and a couple thousands of early Christians who behaved like he was real. Plus the Bible wasn't just a random compilation like you imply. The Jews were careful with what compiled the Old Testament starting with the Torah. With the new Testament, much was also written by the apostles who were instrumental in the early Church. Later it was then compiled and fully translated to Latin.

@@ethimself5064 i didn't say they were first translated to Latin. I mentioned that because it's the translation the Catholic Church used.
