Come back to shakey and I’ll show you the best “run” of pubs in the North. Wakefield used to be called the merry city and had what was the bet nightclub in the UK in Rooftop Gardens. However you need to do the westgate run which is infamous! The top of westgate used to have 30 pubs 4 nightclubs pretty much on top of each other.

Wakefield Catbedral is one of the most stunning gothic churches. It has the 2nd highest spire in the UK 🇬🇧….. wakey or affectionately known as shakey wakey is one of the smalles cities in the UK. It is famous for the battle of wakefield that took place at the historical sandal castle 🏰 (where the nursery rhyme the grand old duke of york comes from). If also has a high security prison (with some infamous killers in the hell hole) Wakefield has a famous rugby team called Wakefield Trinity and has many famous celebrities that come from the merry city. Jane McDonald, Barbara Hepworth just naming a couple but plenty more. It’s a belting night out my friend. Next time you want to do Wakey give me a heads up and will take you on the famous Westgate run

@@thegreatbritishpubcrawl I worked in the nightclub industry for over 30 years and worked as resident DJ at the famous Rooftop Gardens in Shakey so I know the city very well. I would send you my number but everyone will see it. Next time you wanna do wakey give me a Hail Mary and will see if Kammy is free too

I need to go there and check out the sights and sounds. This is the city of many of my ancestors. I'm likely related to half the population. Lol. Yes. Wakefield is my real middle name.
