Since you can put a Giga Cat Bell in Super Mario 3D World, bringing a newer item to an older game, this would open up a ton of experimentation. You can pretty much test every Bowsers Fury object in Super Mario 3D World and vice versa, and see object interactions that would be impossible in the original game.

My guess for the giga bell in 3D World: it'll be there, but it won't be activated because 1, the world isn't in fury mode because it can't go in fury mode in 3D World, and 2, you don't have enough shines to activate it, because you can't have any shines in 3D World. If you can somehow use hacking to fix the two problems I mentioned to be able to get the bell activated so that you can collect it, I would be interested to see that. Though my guess it that when you try to collect it the game might just crash.

The reason why you did not get bowser to leave while collecting those copied shines is because when you get close to 50, bowser will be so furious that shines will no longer get rid and damage fury bowser. The only way to get rid of him when you reach that point is collecting the giga bell.

Unless the devs added a check for it, there's no reason the max amount should be 999. I could see them storing it into a byte (255 shines) or an int (if signed, 2147483647 shines, then wraps around to -2147483648 shines, if unsigned 4294967295 shines. maaaaaybe even a short, i.e. 2 bytes, i.e. 65535 shines. Edit: it is possible they used some string formatting to always have 3 digits. In that case, it would look like the max is 999, but internally it would be different.

If your Shine Max is glitching after 180, the max is probably 256: the Max Hex Value. (The highest 2-digit hex symbol)

Nice! What level editor did you use for this? I may need to experiment a bit with it ;) If I recall correctly, the max amount of cat shines you can have is 4294967295. Not a joke. It's a 32-bit uint, the max being 0xFFFFFFFF, which is 4294967295.

Actually, bowser didnt leave because you reached enough shines to make the game think that you’ve progressed to the point where bowser doesn’t leave anymore and you have to start the final boss battle. At least that’s what I think :) I hope that made sense lol

reason why bowser didnt leave is because you didnt complete the game. the sky was red and thats the final fight with him. once you beat him and enter bowsers fury again he will leave when you collect one since it wont force you to fight him after beating the game.
