Lemme paint a picture for you. So You’re in high school, it’s the last day. Your final class for the day is a form of Computer Class. Teacher encourages everyone to do something fun on the computers since they all worked so hard over the year. Someone suggests a LAN Party, one guy suggests TF2. Someone mentions it’ll take forever to install. One guy says “no worries everyone!” And he pulls out his DSi with an SD card inside, and right next to his flip notes is a giant folder containing TF2. He copies it to everyone’s SD cards that you happen to have a ton of after taking advantage of holiday sales, we find a way to run it after getting steam and logging in to our accounts(if steam itself isn’t blocked) and we all celebrate our freedom via a TF2 LAN Party 🎉

Well, not in my school. They pay for the firewall more than they pay the teachers, and you can’t even download an image, rename a folder or change any of the settings. Task manager doesn’t exist, neither does any other program, other than google chrome, and the teachers also have a program that can monitor all the students monitors, freeze one or all the computers, or even blue screen them if they feel like it. On google chrome, they use a whitelist, so only about 15 websites actually work. And they still think that “we are learning to become great computer scientists” even though you can’t do literally anything on them. Only way you can get games to work is if you take out the hard drive (which is hard in a classroom), set up a private server (which is hard with the whitelist), install windows 10 again (no pray they don’t have a bios locker), Get everything set up, and finally, after 5 hours you can go play half-life or something.

I once installed the sims 3 with all expansions and store content on an SD card and gave it a friend for her birthday. I intended for her to copy it off the SD card and she could keep the SD card, but apparently it runs fine as long as you go and get a drink while the game saves and loads. Like, a long drink. Because it takes about 10 minutes to load and save games.

Can TF2 run on a MicroSD on a Steam Deck? Yeah! This video proves that even under bad circumstances, the worst thing you'll experience is just a little bit slower loading times, and a little stuttering, but apart from that, everything is literally fine and smooth sailing. Neat! Its not even as bad as I thought, and definitely not as bad as my old Windows 7 Emachines PC trying to play the game at 15 fps.

bro i used to play on an sd card on a 2 gb of ram chromebook jailbroken to ubuntu 22.04 with only 8 gb storage. there was no other way to play other than on a separate drive. all you have to do is open steam>downloads>download settings>storage>game libraries> select the sd card, create a library on it, download tf2 to it. its automatically a secure steam launch and the game stuttered less than yours on 2 gb ram. its actually a feature built into steam
