Few things divide Protestants and Catholics more than the role of Mary. In this clip, I ask two Catholic experts on Mary where you can find the Marian dogmas just using the Bible.

About Gospel Simplicity:
Gospel Simplicity began as a KZbin channel in a Moody Bible Institute dorm. It was born out of the central conviction that the gospel is really good news, and I wanted to share that with as many people as possible. The channel has grown and changed over time, but that central conviction has never changed. Today, we make content around biblical and theological topics, often interacting with people from across the Christian tradition with the hope of seeking greater unity and introducing people to the beautiful simplicity and transformative power of the gospel, the good news about Jesus.
About the host:
Hey! My name is Austin, and I'm a 22 year old guy who’s passionate about the beautiful simplicity and transformative power of the gospel. I believe that the gospel, the good news about Jesus, is really good news, and I’m out to explore, unpack, and share that good news with as many people as possible. I'm a full blown Bible and Church History nerd that loves getting to dialogue with others about this, learning as much as I can, and then teaching whatever I can. I grew up around Frederick, MD where I eventually ended up working my first job at a church. They made the mistake of letting me try my hand at teaching, and instantly I fell in love. That set me on a path for further education, and I'm currently a student at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL, studying theology. On any given day you can find me with my nose in a book or a guitar in my hands. Want to get to know me more? Follow me and say hi on Instagram at: @austin.suggs

Even as an Evangelical Protestant I noticed some very striking things going on in Luke 1. First, Elizabeth and Zechariah are reported to be "blameless before the Lord." This seems out of synch with Protestant theology. How could it be that two individuals--before Christ was born--were blameless to God? Then Luke tells us that John the Baptist was "full of the Holy Spirit" in the womb. That seems very puzzling. Again, how can this be so? The whole narrative thrust of the passage seems to be building to Mary and the annunciation with miraculous things happening along the way.

@@saramolina8911 In regard to your point #1, please note what Luke 1 states: Luke 1:6 Both of them were righteous in the sight of God, observing all the Lord’s commands and decrees blamelessly. Now, it states they observed "ALL the Lord's commands and decrees blamelessly." Notice there is no mention of "faith." They "observed" (i.e. did) the commands and decrees of God. Now according to standard Evangelical theology this is impossible and violates St. Paul's statement in Romans 3 that "there is no one righteous, no not one." Hence, an accurate reading of the text of Luke 1 does not correlate with what you are thinking and stating. You are greatly underestimating the implications of Luke's statement. Secondly, in the New Testament to be "filled with the Spirit" is an admonition to Christians (Ephesians 5) to seek after and participate in. However, in Luke 1, John the Baptist is declared "filled with the Holy Spirit" from his mother's womb. There is nothing he does to merit or warrant this. It is an act of God from first to last.

Another excellent discussion! I'm an Orthodox catechumen reading the Orthodox Study Bible, in which the Old Testament is taken from the St. Athanasius Academy Septuagint, Psalm 131:8 (Ps. 132:8 in Masoretic text-based versions), and it reads: "Arise, O Lord, into Your rest, You and the ark of Your holiness." As a lifelong Protestant (66 years!) coming into the Orthodox Church, I am being daily blessed by the ever virgin Mother of our God. I was raised to greatly respect the virgin Mary, but unfortunately did not receive true teaching about her and really feel the cavalier approach toward the blessed Theotokos is shameful. How must our Lord Jesus Christ feel about us sinners casually treating His human mother as if she was really just an average mother. She gave birth to God the Word and I am now learning to truly love and appreciate her! She is indeed the Champion Leader of our faith!!!

You are only using the hysterical word 'wicked' because you have never bothered to look into it. You are an unread anti-Catholic. All smoke, but no fire. Let's be honest from now on, please... More importantly, where in Holy Scripture does it say that all doctrines can be found from a 'plain reading' of the Bible? It doesn't. I challenge you to quote a verse or a passage or anything. You won't find it, by the way. Not only does the Bible not command us to stick to plain readings only, we cannot even know what Scripture is without the Catholic Church, who canonized the books in the Bible. No plain reading will tell us that Hebrews is God-breathed. This plain reading insistence is a Protestant tradition, a false tradition of man, of which Christ warns us against. Christ is angered by those who act as authorities and impose unfair burdens. We are bound by the Word of God, not human traditions. Let me ask you this question (and please answer): it is a Marian dogma that Mary is Theotokos, the Mother of God. If she wasn't the Mother of God, who was she the mother of?

_“Tail-foremost arguments”_ 😇 "What is any man who has been in the real outer world, for instance, to make of the everlasting cry that Catholic traditions are condemned by the Bible? It indicates a jumble of topsy-turvy tests and tail-foremost arguments, of which I never could at any time see the sense. The ordinary sensible sceptic or pagan is standing in the street (in the supreme character of the man in the street) and he sees a procession go by of the priests of some strange cult, carrying their object of worship under a canopy, some of them wearing high head-dresses and carrying symbolical staffs, others carrying scrolls and sacred records, others carrying sacred images and lighted candles before them, others sacred relics in caskets or cases, and so on. I can understand the spectator saying, “This is all hocus-pocus”; I can even understand him, in moments of irritation, breaking up the procession, throwing down the images, tearing up the scrolls, dancing on the priests and anything else that might express that general view. I can understand his saying, “Your croziers are bosh, your candles are bosh, your statues and scrolls and relics and all the rest of it are bosh.” But in what conceivable frame of mind does he rush in to select one particular scroll of the scriptures of this one particular group (a scroll which had always belonged to them and been a part of their hocus-pocus, if it was hocus-pocus); why in the world should the man in the street say that one particular scroll was not bosh, but was the one and only truth by which all the other things were to be condemned? Why should it not be as superstitious to worship the scrolls as the statues, of that one particular procession? Why should it not be as reasonable to preserve the statues as the scrolls, by the tenets of that particular creed? To say to the priests, “Your statues and scrolls are condemned by our common sense,” is sensible. To say, “Your statues are condemned by your scrolls, and we are going to worship one part of your procession and wreck the rest,” is not sensible from any standpoint, least of all that of the man in the street." Catholics honour Mother Mary because 1. She is the Mother of Jesus, our Lord and deserves our respect. 2. Her role in our salvation is foretold in Genesis 3:15 when God told the Devil And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel." She is the only human being whom God has chosen for His plan to save the fallen human race - Jesus has to be born as a Man to have a lasting binding New Covenant with God as all other Covenants were broken. To be born as a man, Jesus needs to be born of a woman. Mary is obedient to God and said yes. She didn't ask for God's plan. I would and how shall my life be impacted. Who will take care of me when I grow old. Mary trusted God but a sword pierced her heart Luke 2:35 when Jesus was crucified. She gave Jesus his human DNA. So whilst Jesus did the saving, Mary was instrumental in out salvation. If Mary didn't said yes, and some other woman did, then we will honour this other woman none the lesser. 3. As Jesus is the King of Kings, Mother Mary is the Queen Mother. Just as Bathsheba interceded for the king's subjects in 1 Kings 2:19 When Bathsheba went to King Solomon to speak to him for Adonijah, the king stood up to meet her, bowed down to her and sat down on his throne. He had a throne brought for the king's mother, and she sat down at his right hand. Mother Mary Mary intercedes for all of us. Reference the Wedding at CanaJohn 2 : 1 to 12 when Christ performed His first miracle, even though He initially said it wasnt His time yet. Mother Mary didn't tell Jesus what to do but directs the servants to Jesus, just as she directs us now to Jesus. The focus and glory is always in Jesus. Intercession proves that the final decision and call still lies with God and Mary is not a deity. 4. God killed Uzzah in 2 Sam 6:6 to 7 for touching the Ark of the Old Covenant : When they came to the threshing floor of Nakon, Uzzah reached out and took hold of the ark of God, because the oxen stumbled. The Lord’s anger burned against Uzzah because of his irreverent act; therefore God struck him down, and he died there beside the ark of God. Despite doing a good deed by stabilising a falling Ark, Uzzah was deemed unworthy and to have defile the Ark. The Ark of the old Covenant carried the Word of God in stone. Mother Mary carried the Word of God in flesh. She is thus sinless as she had to carried the Living Word of God in her womb for 9 months. Uzzah was struck dead by a mere touch. What's more 9 months of pregnancy? Thus we honour Mother Mary for carrying the Living Word of God. The sacredness and holiness of the Old Ark was evident by Uzzah's slaying, what's more the New Ark which is carrying Jesus. 5. Jesus the King of Kings bestowed Queenship on His mother Rev 12 :1 A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. This woman is Mary because she is in heaven where God is. The only human being God will allow Queenship in heaven is Jesus's mother - the Queen Mother of the King of Kings. This woman is not the Church as some Protestants claim because in subsequent verses.Rev 12 : 2 to 5 this woman gave birth to a son which will rule all nations and whom the devil wanted to harm but couldn't. The only human that can stand up to the devil is Jesus. REV 12 : 2 to 5 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne 6. We honour Mother Mary because we are grateful to her for saying Yes to God, when she was still an unmarried woman but had to bear Jesus, thereby being instrumental in the human race's salvation. 7. We honour Mother Mary because she was obedient to God and is our model of ideal discipleship. She didn't ask for God's detail operation plan, what's going to happen to her when she is found pregnant in old conservative Jewish society, how to answer to Joseph when he found out she is pregnant before their marriage, how is Mary going to live on financially if Joseph divorce her, what role is her son going to undertake etc. Nothing. No details needed. No assurances needed. Just a simple yes to God. And God is pleased with faithful disciples just as He is pleased with Abraham for his faithfulness. For these reasons, Mother Mary deserves our honour - just as how the Early Church honours her for 1500 years till the Reformation. The Orthodox Christians who broke away from the Catholic Church honours Mother Mary. Martin Luther, the Father of the Protestant Reformation loves Mother Mary, honours her and prays the rosary. The veneration of Mary is inscribed in the very depths of the human heart. (Sermon, September 1, 1522). [She is the] highest woman and the noblest gem in Christianity after Christ. ..She is nobility, wisdom, and holiness personified. We can never honor her enough. Still honor and praise must be given to her in such a way as to injure neither Christ nor the Scriptures. (Sermon, Christmas, 1531). No woman is like you. You are more than Eve or Sarah, blessed above all nobility, wisdom, and sanctity. (Sermon, Feast of the Visitation. 1537). One should honor Mary as she herself wished and as she expressed it in the Magnificat. She praised God for his deeds. How then can we praise her? The true honor of Mary is the honor of God, the praise of God's grace.. .Mary is nothing for the sake of herself, but for the sake of Christ...Mary does not wish that we come to her, but through her to God. (Explanation of the Magnificat, 1521). Luther goes even further, and gives the Blessed Virgin the exalted position of "Spiritual Mother" for Christians, much the same as in Catholic piety: It is the consolation and the superabundant goodness of God, that man is able to exult in such a treasure. Mary is his true Mother, Christ is his brother. God is his father. (Sermon. Christmas, 1522) Mary is the Mother of Jesus and the Mother of all of us even though it was Christ alone who reposed on her knees...If he is ours, we ought to be in his situation; there where he is, we ought also to be and all that he has ought to be ours, and his mother is also our mother. (Sermon, Christmas, 1529). Catholics honour Mother Mary but we believed that Christ is still the only mediator with God. Christ and Christ alone.

Saint Mary the Mother of God made it to the Apostles Creed, no apostle made it but she did. In the realm of creation she is the most exalted creature since she is the only created being that contained the living word of God inside of her, the old ark of the covenant only had the word in stone yet she had the word made flesh, but you somehow don't get how important is the role of the living ark of the covenant...

So many things can be said here: without a written and defined New Testament (NT) in the early centuries of the Church, the early Church Fathers (Ignatius, Irenaus, Origen, Ambrose, Augustine, to name a few) looked to the Old Testament (OT) and saw how the "NT lies hidden in the OT and the OT is made manifest in the NT" through the life of Christ. As Jesus said: " I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill the Law." Mt 5:17, and Luke 24: Jesus opened their minds to the OT (Moses, Prophets and Psalms) and how the OT Scriptures are fulfilled in him...Paul records that Jesus is a new Adam (Romans 5:14, 1 Cor. 15:45) If there is a new Adam, there should also be a new Eve and a new Creation (Gen1-2/John1-2). Mary is the new Eve, new Ark of the Covenant (Luke 1-2, 2nd Samuel 6, Rev 11:19-12), the new Queen Mother (I kings 2, Jeramiah 13:18, 2 Chron. 15:16, the queen mother of the King of the Jews, John 19:19, John 19: 26-27, Rev 12:1; Mary the Queen Mother of the King of the Jews) of the Davidic King; Jesus (John 19:26, Rev 12:17). Mary is Mother of God: according to the flesh: not mother of the Trinity, but mother of the 2nd person of the Trinity, who became man (a divine person), born of a woman. Mary is the Immaculate Conception: saved before she fell, by her divine son who created her: the only son who was able to create his mother. Ever-Virgin: The virgin will conceive AND bear a son: Emmanuel; God with us (Is: 7:14/MT : 1:23). The OT holds the keys to unlock the mysteries of the NT...we have to be attentive to the Written Word of God to see how it applies to the Eternal and Incarnate Word of God: Jesus, the Christ

"For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.” Matthew 12:50. Jesus gives no special distinction to his mom. Mary is one of us and calls God her own savior and Jesus even corrects his own mother Mary at times. Mary is not omniscient and can't hear our prayers. Jesus and apostles teach us to pray to God alone.

I would agree, I would never disrespect Mary, but I also wouldn't make tremendous assumptions on clear interpretations to create widespread dogma in the church. It's one thing for people to have their own interpretations of some of the scriptures, and even respect church tradition or history, but things like the assumption of Mary are so lacking any real foundation and yet it's a requirement the church. It's not disrespectful to simply say this is what we know about Mary, we're not going to create and elevate her beyond what we know.

Another prophet confirms Virgin Mary's perpetual virginity, as he says: “When he brought me back the way of the gate of the outward sanctuary which looked towards the east, it was shut. Then the Lord said to me: This gate shall be shut, 10 it shall not be opened, and no man shall pass through it, because the Lord, the God of Israel, has entered by it, therefore it shall be shut. It is for the prince; the prince himself shall sit in it...” This sealed eastern gate is a figure of Blessed Theotokos (Virgin Mary) perpetual virginity. For the Lord alone entered her womb, and this gate was never opened to another; its seals were not broken. In this effect the Coptic Church sings the following hymn: “Ezekiel witnessed and told us: I have seen an eastern gate. The Lord, the Saviour entered it, (2) and it remains shut as it was before”. EZEKIEL 44:1-3 Early Apocryphal Documents There are three early apocryphal documents, of the second century, affirming Blessed Evervirgin Mary’s perpetual virginity: 1. In “the Ascension of Isaiah” we read that, “her womb (1) was found the same as before she had conceived”. 2. According to the “Odes of Solomon”, she travailed and (2) brought forth a son without incurring pain. 3. The “protoevangelium of James” relates that a woman called Salome “made trial of Blessed Virgin Mary’s virginity soon (3) after Jesus’ birth”.

1. Let's bear in mind that in Luke, at the Annunciation, Gabriel begins by saying, "Hail, full of grace....the Lord is with you....blessed are you among women....." This is scripture, and it is also the Hail Mary prayer. So, those who subscribe to sola scriptura should be saying the Hail Mary prayer, like, routinely. 2. Where would we all be if Mary, upon seeing Gabriel, was scared, fled, yelling "Begone! Evil spirit! Away!" Well, we'd really be up the creek, wouldn't we? 3. So, it is obvious that our salvation began with the Hail Mary, and is integral to Mary and the response of her free will to God. Given all this, why doesn't all Christendom revere Mary, and not just Catholics? Not to mention the objective events of Fatima, Lourdes, Guadeloupe. Seems fairly obvious to thinking people......

There are indeed many references into Mary in the Bible. We see the Blessed Virgin talked about in the Old Testament prophesizing the coming of Our Saviour and the New Covenant. These are references that Mary herself would have recognised specifically as a Jew and the mother of God. Revelation also speaks of the queen of heaven, Mary. The Old Testament beautifully illustrates the coming of Christ and His mother, and the new Arc of the Covenant. It is incredibly satisfying to see this in scripture.

Great video guys. Regarding the bodily assumption of our Blessed Mother, the typology of Mary being the new and living Ark of the Covenant helps more than we might think. Why does God give detailed and strict instructions concerning the making of the Ark? Are such meticulous details useless information for the New Testament people? On the contrary they are hints for us pointing out to something. The Ark is made of one of the most durable woods - the Acacia wood, and then overlaid with pure gold inside and out. Now Acacia wood is not easily eaten by moth and pure gold does not rust, tarnish or corrode even for millions of years. Concerning the Ascension of our Lord the prophecy goes like this: Ps 16:10 & Acts 2:27 "For you will not abandon my soul to hades, nor let your beloved one see decay (or corruption). The theme of not experiencing corruption can be reflected in the OT ark and thus can be applied the Mary the new Ark. God bless

Yes; and .. no. The 'no' bit only refers to an interpretation of texts; the Yes bit refers chiefly to the Church's understanding of what the 'text' means (though that does not mean one specific interpretation rather a general communion of belief - officially affirmed as Catholic in substance). Neither of these types of answer, naturally enough, will do for those who do not - or do not want to - believe/ engage with them. First, of course, one has to 'prove' the Holy Bible as a concept, as reality, and witness .. this is not as easily done as one might first like to imagine. Catholics do so in typical Catholic fashion, applying the same textual and contextual rules that govern teachings on God, Creation, Humanity, Christ, His Church, and the Saints .. again, those who do not want to believe it, won't. One cannot find any dogma, per se, fully defined in the texts accepted - by the Church - as Sacred Scripture; dogmas are defined by magisterial authority, not by a witness, living or written; witnesses, teachings, and directions are what can be found in these religious texts. Thus: Was Mary uniquely chosen in Christ among all mankind to be especially favoured as holy and immaculate in Him, to the praise of the glory of His grace? Eph 1 : 3-14.

Marian wisdom can begin with a fundamental understanding of the cyclical nature of reality (God). Represented by the snake in many creation myths, the living cycle has a trinity of a beginning (head), a middle and end (tail). As above so below, the sexes were created in the image of God's cyclical nature where Mother is the head and opening to all beginnings and Father holds the tail to all endings (through which the sowing of seeds allow for the next great matriarchal rebirth). The joining of the two (symbolized by the Ouroborus or the marriage ring) is the sacred union needed in assuring the creation and continuation of new life cycles. To speak of the present day God as "Our Father" is simply an admission to our collective positioning within the bigger cycle. As all mothers have direct experience with the creator quality of birthing, so is the direct experience of rebirthing the divinity within (baptism) belong to that which is spiritually matriarchal. (John 3, verse 3-8). Sekhmet statues (ancient Egyptian) carry most of their weight in symbolic memory of what was a mother culture dedicated to the direct experience of baptism. As the leg shaped hairlocks extend from maternal breasts to the womb of rebirth, the lioness's head proportions are such that they highlight the bust of a second animal figure. The Lioness's ears as eyes and eyes as nose (nostrils) brings to life the figure of a reptile. 'Neath the halo headress of the solar egg, the lioness's egg fertilization process being internal (Set) and the reptile's egg fertilization process being external (Setting), such being key components to the safety of entering the trans-egoic or "born again" state. The life threatening fear associated with the predatory nature of a lion and/or crocodile encounter are reflective of the intense ego death experiences associated with the transpersonal awakening process. In spiritually matriarchal times, illumination could be seen as wearing the false beard (ancient Egyptian funerary "ego" death mask) as the high state of cyclical self knowing; high awareness of both our upper matriarchal half and our lower (later) patriarchal half (compared with a mini lower body replica, an "as above so below" tail end beard extension); in full recognition of her civilizational Underworld, her inevitable cyclical destiny. The male pharaoh wears his beard tapered in reverse, indicating a pointing upwards towards the patriarchal head, divine representative of God's tail end cycle. Mary Magdalene's anointing and wiping of Jesus's feet with her hair can then be seen as head to tail (toe) imagery as she descends her matriarchal head to his patriarchal feet, thus reenacting the high understanding of the divine cyclical process. (John 12:3) To carry the Ankh (now the female symbol ♀️) was perhaps to symbolically carry that upper and lower understanding. As the upper matriarchal womb symbolised the fertile birthing of civilization, below, the now Christian cross is carried to place emphasis on the lower (later) "End Times" Father principle of the great cycle. Lord Ganesha, the elephant headed Hindu diety, displays a cyclical head to trunk symbolism and points to the Mother head of his matriarchal elephant society. Ganesha (like the elephant) wears God's cyclical nature on his face. A whole temple was dedicated to the ancient Egyptian goddess Hathor, who is the matriarchal "Uterus" personified. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gGHQYa2AiKp5gZI "See all women as mothers, serve them as your mother. When you see the entire world as the mother, the ego falls away. See everything as Mother and you will know God." - Neem Karoli Baba

Perhaps. In the same sense (some) Protestants have gone to the extreme that the Bible is the only infallible word of God that we should base our faith off of, never mind sacred tradition; and then (some) Catholics go to the extreme of thinking the Bible isn’t that necessary to read. Though one does have to ask where that extreme is when it comes to Mary. If it means worshipping her, then that’s just a misconception of catholicism. If it means believing things about her that aren’t true and contradict other aspects of the faith, then perhaps this is where the line should be drawn. I don’t think mere sinlessness means we ought to worship her (and we don’t). @Alex Ndua: Up until ex-Catholic Martin Luther embarked on the Protestant Revolution, all Catholics revered and respected the Blessed Virgin Mary. In fact, so did Martin Luther. However, to support their position, Luther, Calvin, etc. had to discard the theology, dogmas and Bible of the Catholic Church. So out went reverence and respect for the theology, dogma and Sacred Scripture of the Catholic Church and in return came the evolutionary philosophy of protestantism and its new theologies, new dogmas, new Bibles. Respect for the Blessed Virgin Mary was only one of the casualties of the Protestant Revolution, sadly there are many many more.

We all understand that in the old Bibles carnal knowledge is translated as "know." So let us look at Mathew 1 : 25. The text is very clear : Joseph did not have sexual relations with Mary until (till) after the birth of Jesus. Now if someone says that a good Catholic couple did not have sex until they were married, we know what that means. So read Mathew 1 :25 and let the text speak for itself. What do you think? The obvious reading of the text may also better explain the passages that talk about the brothers and sisters of Jesus . One point that never is brought out is the difference between the true Mary and a Mary that is portrayed as the true Mary: 1) The true Mary would always, always point us to Jesus; never to herself. 2) Any apparition by the true Mary would never be solely contained within a particular earthly church, but to any who have completely surrendered their lives to the Lordship of Jesus Christ; or else, Mary would be guilty of sectarianism. Luke 9:49-50 3) Any who have claimed visions of Mary would have been instructed by the true Mary to not bow down to exalt her, but to bow down and exalt the Creator of heaven and earth 4) The true Mary would never overrule the words spoken by Jesus in the account that we find in Luke 11:27-28.

Also, there are many apparitions of Mary within Orthodox Churches, such as Zeitoun. 3: bowing and even prostrating is not worshipping. Why would you bow before an earthly King but not before the Queen of Heaven? Worship is found in Sacrifice. We would never sacrifice TO Mary, but only to God.
@dannisivoccia2712

@@TheApsodist There needs to be an understanding between an earthly church and the true church, as seen from God's perspective. Read and study the parable of the wheat and the tares, because it clearly shows who God considers His true church (the Bride of Christ). The earthly churches have many tares among the wheat. The Scriptures say, "The Lord knows whose are His" and "We see in part and we know in part...," but God sees the entire picture; for nothing escapes His notice. Bowing and prostrating is an outward form of worship, but it is not necessarily considered worship before God, because God knows each of our hearts. Personally, I would honor and respect an earthly king; but I would never bow down to one. This is an action we must reserve for the Creator of heaven and earth alone; for He is the source of all that exists (seen or unseen). There are those who do actually sacrifice to Mary, because of their enlarged adoration and devotion to her. Their relentless and repetitive praying to Mary is a labour that most Marians would consider sacrificial. Mary is justified during conception (Immaculate Conception). Theologically: how can God enter into somewhere not Holy? Just as the Holy of Holies is to be kept from all impurity, all the more so His vessel on Earth. This is why the angel Gabriel saud: Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee! This also ties in to the theology of the New Eve (as Jesus is the New Adam).

It seems like a bit of a stretch to use Psalm 132:8 to think Mary goes to heaven... I'd think the psalm is clear that it's referring to the temple, not heaven, as God's resting place. Heaven is referred to as God's dwelling place, and the tabernacle was always being moved around, so a temple was to be built as a "resting" place for God, and the ark. The ark does finally rest in the temple after all.

The biggest problem I see in this focus on Mary is it really takes over Jesus and who he is. He is the savior and mediator he never speaks of Mary coming into this role. Yes she was mighty used by God and so where many other people, like Moses and David but they are not anyone who saves us or holds any power at all. It is christ alone and can marvel at how God used Mary but nothing more. The lord says there shall be no others God's before me. In alot of ways this is what some catholics do. She has no diety or else we would not be followers of Christ snd there wouldn't only he one God but there is only 1 God and him and him alone is worthy of praise! Please I beg you all to just reasses these beliefs for yourself and ask God yourself. You can pray to him you dont need all these stand ins. Also Satan appears as an angel of light and he often elevates women in false religions this is a huge red flag that this is not from God.

Mary is the New Eve (Gen 3:15, Luke 1:38, Jn 2:4, Jn 19:26, Gal 4:4, Rev 12:1, Rev 12:17) IMMACULATE CONCEPTION: As Eve was created sinless, the New Eve was born unstained by original sin. How can the New Eve be inferior to the old? ASSUMPTION OF MARY: If Adam and Eve had obeyed God, they would have entered heaven body and soul. Since the new creation is the fulfillment of the failure of the old, Jesus, the New Adam, and Mary, the New Eve, obeyed God perfectly. Because of their perfect obedience, Jesus and Mary entered heaven body and soul. CO-REDEMPTRIX: Both Adam and Eve sinned but it was Adam's sin that caused the downfall. Nevetheless, Eve was Co-Transgressor as she played a vital part in man's downfall. In a similar manner, although Jesus' obedience redeemed man, Mary was Co-Redemptrix as she played a vital role in man's redemption. Eve listens to a fallen angel, sins, and tempts Adam who brings the fall of man. Mary listens to an Angel, accepts God's plan, gives birth toJesus who is the redeemer of man. MEDIATRIX OF ALL GRACES: Mary is Mediatrix of All Graces because Mary gives birth to Jesus who reconciles man to God so we can receive God's grace. Also through Mary's intercessory prayers, we receive God's grace as displayed at the wedding at Cana when Mary asked Jesus for help and he truned water into wine. It is not Mary's grace, but God's grace that we receive through Mary's intercession. Mary is the New Ark of the Covenant (Ex 40:34-35, Lk 1:35), (2 Sam 6:1-11, Lk 1:39), (2 Sam 6:14, Lk 1:43), (2 Sam 6:15, Lk 1:42), (2 Sam 6:9, Lk 1:43), ( 2 Sam 6:11, Lk 1:56), (2 Sam 6:11, Lk 1:39-45), (Ex 16:33-34, Ex 25:16, Num 17:10, Heb 9:5), (Rev 11:19, Rev 12:1) EVER VIRGIN: No man could touch the Ark (2 Sam 6:7). Similarly no man could touch Mary the New Ark of the covenant. Mary's viriginy upholds the divinity of Jesus. The Ark's main purpose was to bring the presence of God to his people. Similarly, the New Ark's main purpose was to bring the prescence of Jesus (God/Man) to the world. Sacred vessles set aside for God, cannot be used for normal use. Like a goblet used in worship cannot be used to drink wine at dinner. Simiarly Mary's womb set aside to bring God's prescence into the world cannot be used for normal use.

In Her there is the absence of incentives, the inheritance of Sin. In Her there is only the icy and white-hot wisdom of divine love. A fire that strengthens the flesh with ice, so that it may be a transparent mirror at the altar where God married a Virgin and does not lower Himself because His perfection embraces Her perfection, which, as it becomes a bride, is only inferior to His by one point, subject to Him as a Woman, but without fault as He is. @@GospelSimplicity Well, the same could be said about any dogma. What I mean by “inconsequential” is that, the state of Mary’s virginity or sinlessness or conception, etc... is all like trying to debate how many angels can dance on the head of a pin. Sure, if the magisterium actually has a position on that topic, and we can prove from the Bible and Tradition that one less angel can dance on a pin than the magisterium says, uh oh! The magisterium topples! But, my point is: who cares about how many angels can dance on the head of a pin? It makes no difference to anything and is inconsequential to the Gospel as Paul (primarily) delivered it by the Holy Spirit in the Scriptures. Even Luther believed in Mary’s cleansing at some point, though maybe not conception. But, who cares as it’s not revealed anywhere. Angels on pins. It’s not important... It’s such a side tangent when there are so many actual consequential topics in the Bible for the growth of the children of God. I am aware that this might be a topic that makes or breaks Catholicism in some peoples’ eyes... or is a good leverage argument for those trying to make converts. But, it just seems like counting bubbles in a fizzy drink. Mindless waste of time. I’m not criticizing your channel. @@TheDroc1990the dogma of perpetual virginity teaches that mary was virgin before during and after. Which is why your own tradition teaches that mary didn't even give birth to jesus in the traditional sense, but rather that Jesus beamed out of her and appeared to mary and Joseph. This belief is gnostic in origin and is found in several gnostic gospels surrounding mary and the birth of christ. The same gnostic gospels you also use to support the idea of the immaculate conception. It is heresy through and through. Marys sex life after the birth of christ is not relative to the gospel at all, and if she did chose to have marital acts with Joseph, it is not a sin to do so.
