I feel that the real problem is that in reality a thief or gangster would likely be further away from you, or might be concealing the weapon close to their body while having it pointed at you. In these situations it would be very hard to pull any disarms off, as closing the distance is an issue, not to mention if there are multiple attackers. If they're going to kill you, then these tips might help, but if I'm being robbed I'd rather be broke than dead.

If opponent just stands there and allows you to do whatever you need to disarm - sure it will work. Add a bit more distance or even someone who are able to move back a bit while you "disarm" - good luck with that.

There is not guarantees in any Gun disarming techniques, the probabilities to survive depends on three factors : -the mistake of the aggressor, that means he doesn’t know how to manage distance with his gun and having doubts on shooting immediately. -the training based on pressure testing that the “victim “ previously experienced, identifying the window of opportunity and capitalizing it to his favor . -the chaos factor. You can’t control absolute everything and sometimes that can cost your life even with good training. We do a lot of pressure testing with t4e pistols and the result is that you can do everything right and still get shot, but that bullet placement is less probable to hit the center mass of the defender if you train constantly and correctly.

These things would only work on someone that is point blank, if he is at an arms-length away, wouldn't work, also were the guns pointed at the chest and not the head they would have connected.

It really depends on the people involved. If someone isnt willing to shoot it will work. If someone is but is untrained it may work. If someone is willing and trained it will almost never work.

Your correct lol, that's why I do not simply try to grab a gun, instead considering lethal force at this stage is legal, using a knife if your the close to cut the biceps and the flanges muscles in the fore arm, doesn't have to be deep or specific spot or angle, a fast slash in theese spots render a arm useless.
