Id say to double check/reflow the cpu and ram, and then check for any off capicitors/ damaged traces, and then ensure the cpu cooler is firmly connected with the fan plugged in also peak around for any shorts but i suspect its not shorting or itd red ring. Also you mentioned the cpu having a higher clock rate im not sure if thats an issue but i know in pc of you get a poor silicon lottery it can cause stuttering etc or if the ram cant keep up. And lastly if theres any way to test without the modchip its always good to cross things off the list that arent a problem. As for those errors for pc those usually mean a bad system file for the c000001d and 0000007 is corrupt files i think* so if you had a backup drive to boot from myte be worth a shot. Not sure if they correlate with xboxs

What about a broken phat in the motherboard, something close to the corner capacitors you froze at the 3rd time, obviously I'm just guessing XD, nice content and I wish you good luck with this console

Tried warming vs freezing with heat gun? I'd guess it has something todo with the nvidia mcpx chip. Since it craps out when sound starts etc. Cuuld be something as simple as the crystal caps are out of spec so the required signal isn't reaching the chip. Just a guess.

What is the theory of freezing? That is new idea to me

If the issues are due to heat, freezing essentially sets the starting up more and adds time Before the overheating would freeze the startup. Also, should he turn it on immediately after freezing, it may show where the shorts are if any

If he's looking for a short it would be more effective (and cheaper) to use a infrared camera

likely bad current delivery to ram/cpu or other main components. I've seen PCs that would lock up on POST because of faulty caps which is similar behavior to what's going on here

Try removing any mod work and convert back to a stock Xbox. Also, recheck check the cap polarity.

Very commendable for you to try and save the console. However at some point it quickly becomes cost prohibitive to continue troubleshooting when a replacement boards are so cheap and plentiful.

​@@alataweel8954your assumption here is that he's charging the customer by the hour (doubtful). The cost savings issue is entirely on his (the technician's) side since he could spend 2 minutes or 2 weeks trying to fix it and he gets paid the same.
