Really, I'm not sure how I can easily prove to you that I played Final Fantasy 14 solo without using the marketboard or roulettes or parties or retainers outside of uploading the 100 hours of ff14 footage I have, but I'm pretty sure I'm the only one insane enough to care anyway. I mean I showed almost every ff14 craft and gather I did.
Can you play FFXIV solo? Singleplayer FFXIV even? I don't even know what to call this. I mean it's definitely not ff14 money making. I might be an Ultimate Legend UWU rdm pov, but I'm not sure how that's relevant. Maybe this is a FFXIV solo guide? Final Fantasy 14 Warrior solo? Maybe one day I'll do a Eureka Orthos solo run like a normal person.

At the 2014 FF Fanfest, my group spun the Roulette O' Extreme Fights and we landed on Titan EX..... level synced. We had five minutes to learn how to play a borrowed character, and 20 minutes to attempt to clear it. Our strategy also turned into "build up echo stacks ASAP" for that fight. We didn't clear it, but we did clear Odin later on, and I still have my old "I Beat Odin" shirt from that fight. Congrats on making it through the ARR gauntlet!

I miss the old yeti fight where you had to first create giant snowballs by directing the boss's cone AoEs towards random spriggans, protect them and then knock them into him to properly damage him (and interrupt an enragecast). Took ages if you did it wrong, but so nice to just take off 10% of his hp with one big one. Alas, duty support, you have taken a fun fight from us. Aside from nostalgia, you are a madman, but I sure will be rooting for you. Good luck with Garuda and her entourage.

I miss kardia pulling initial aggro. I'd have the spriggans on me immediately and could group them somewhere useful if the tank played along. Was so satisfying when that boss went quickly.

​@@nilzero5686Yeah, the whole spriggan snowball gimmick was very difficult to get right. Even as tank, I'd try to snowball the sprigs and then some DPS kills the spriggans and hits the snowballs into the wall. You try to tell them to stop, and it's like chat is invisible to them.

god that segment at the end was beautiful. definitely the right choice to use return to oblivion, made the whole thing feel so much more intense! the ramuh thing is a bit saddening for sure. idk if it would have worked with the few pieces of shire gear on silenced echo either, seemed way too close on a freaking 90% echo buff so yeah. but maybe worth a shot just to see (and if it does work get that feeling of accomplishment after all)?

That was part of the checks on my main, I even used some other gear, the 2nd option for shiva, to be doubly sure I couldn't and there was just nothing. Ramuh is one hell of a fight. Even on hard mode

I checked and scholar can survive forever at level 50 - it can't kill the arbiters fast enough even at 50% echo. The fight is just designed in a way to make soloing it hard

The fun thing I see people are never aware of is that you can go the entire fight on the first snowcloak boss without ANY frozen stacks. You just have to be moving when the freeze effect happens for snow drift exactly how it would be in other "YOU MUST MOVE OR YOU WILL GET FROZEN" fights. Isn't really relevant because you never got frozen, but fun fact.

The silver chocobo feathers were worth it! You're the one paving this road for us to follow along, and the journey to here and the beyond is well worth the emergency buttons. And speaking of journey, golly gee wilikers I'm beside myself with how much your video production has evolved! Your script writing is incredible! The way you're able to smoothly thread the in game narrative, fight mechanics, strategy development, chat shenanigans, crafting/gathering/leveling, rules refreshers into a cohesive, fun, and engaging plot needs to be celebrated more. If I ever tried something like this, I would need to add a rule to bring a scholar's fairy for heals for example, since it's the fairy that's healing you and not the scholar, you can say that the fairy decided to follow a tank (why not) and you are not *really* interacting with another player. But you go out of your way to make this challange as hard as possible with as little help or exceptions as possible, we'll done.

I love that I can watch these as a new player of FFXIV and not have a single thing spoiled about late-game FFXIV. So cool. I just got to a really cool boss and I've been trying to figure out if I can solo him and I'm 9/10 positive the answer is no. But this series gives me hope of that 1/10. ... maybe when I'm level 90.

afaik, people have been trying to figure out ramuh silenced echo for years. not only that, it's a hell of a fight to do at max level with the echo. he's just weirdly stat'ed compared to other primals/bosses.

Hehe. Fun fact about Ramuh and Ramuh Ex. Particuarly Ramuh Ex. Back in the day when it was first current, you could actually tank it with Titan Egi and entirely circumvent its intended tank swap mechanic. Chicken Nugget was nearly invulnerable as it could be healed by both healers and its SMN via the Sustain ability. Then they patched it Q.Q

Despite having played this game for 3 months (not even in one go) I have the compulsive need to solo everything first before I succumb to duty finder. I tried Ramuh last week and didn't get it, even on a lvl 60 RDM (not saying that's peak performance, I just want to applaud you for trying to do it synced). Partly because I'd rather not spend all of my sub trying to beat him. Did that shit with Moogle mog and I burned myself out completely

Looking up WTF the lightning orbs do in Hard... The wiki claims Ramuh does more damage the more of them are on the floor, and that Surge Protection prevents Rolling Thunder, a mechanic that doesn't exist solo because it tethers 2 people together. *EDIT:* I was wrong seconds later into the video. Causality is the tether mechanic, but I guess it's just funky solo. It does claim that Surge Protection lowers the damage you take from Ramuh, but I guess it's miniscule. I'm now wondering though how much the orbs increase his damage; you can only pick up so many in a given space of time because three at once gives Surge Protection for 60s, whereupon picking any more up gives a stacking debuff that reduces your incoming healing (not desirable).

every time I get Nabriales for trial roulette im like Oh crap. First off his tank buster is spark and he can do that 3 times in a row for 2500 each then theres the orbs that spawn and cause a debuff can't take the same one twice Intermission is you have a ecliptic meteor and comets. Soak the first comet and then nuke the tear with a lb3 then resume damage on boss Yeah

I could swear surge protection works on hard mode. Whenever I tank that fight in roulettes and don't get it, I melt. Getting surge protection prevents that

It's for the second phase (with a party). Two people get tethered and one of them needs 3 orbs to cleanse the tether or else every action makes both of them take damage (like Pyretic, but you can move). They are completely useless while soloing Hard as far as I know.

Have you tried healer in Ramuh? I got him to 70% on level sync with SGE, which is ofc hard for you to get but I think it should be possible with SCH too. The only thing about SCH is the MP management is worse so it could be more challenging. The other thing is that it can be a challenge to kill the boss in 1 lockout using healers. I was able to get him to ~70% on my best run and that took 10-15 minutes meaning itd be quite tight esp with the ads. Mostly the slow speed of runs would mean that the grind to get this clear would be absolutely awful. I do think Ramuh solo with level sync is possible though as every time I died it was a skill issue and not the fight being impossible. One tiny mistake of missing a GCD shield or getting unlucky auto attack patterns can kill you real fast. Just something to maybe try out in later encounters since you seem to have locked in on GNB this time. Sorry for the mega paragraph, just thought Id share some of my thoughts.

Will be interesting to see you try Titan HM, will probably end up being another GNB or WAR fight but would be cool to see a DPS handle it like with NM, maybe like MNK due to RoE, Mantra (iirc it effects both Second Wind and Bloodbath), and high dps from Masterful Blitz to phase titan? Before the RoE nerfs people would actually use MNKs in TEA solo tank runs for busters and what not but unsure if current day RoE is good enough to handle all the busters and heavy autos from Titan.

Maybe Thunder materias would be way, but there is no way to get them anymore and you cant buy them from marketboard(if there are some in the first place and people asks alot). Its sad they removed them. They had very little use, but for this solo attempts it could help reduce damage a bit.

whole game gonna change when he picks up dark knight - a heal built in to the DPS combo and highest DPS of tanks as long as blackblood is maintained, all in exchange for less damage mit, which is traded for a anti-buster button with 80% mit for ten seconds and readies every 30 seconds. DRK op

Tried doing this with Monk but I only got as far as level 60 bosses. I had issue with levi and angry grandpa as well when I started soloing extremes at fresh 60-70. I only dared to attempt to solo 60 extremes at 90 because of thordan mostly. As Monk it is possible to survive that shot at 90, though it meant nothing to those in call with me, it was pretty cool to me and I beat him twice in total, solo. The other cool fight on 60 extremes is the containments, but the one that one shots you with a laser. It's RNG to survive as monk, but it was still a close shave of a fight nontheless since it required perfect inputs to beat. Every other 60 extreme was pretty easy to solo. I tried to do 70 extremes but they're just a tad to strong for my monk, if I play tank I can solo them, but I am adamant on sticking with the dps class. I could solo rath extreme tho, barely.

I can think of 2 normal mode msq fights that you simply cannot solo, even unsynched at 90. Assuming you're just going through shadowbringers. Fortunately the first hard wall I can think of is in StB so maybe by the time you get there you can unsynch it at 100?? If you're just doing ARR I believe it Also, curatives. Spine drops are HUGE in no healer content but you don't have to craft them. Vendors just sell them

We try to avoid vendor purchases as much as possible, doing most things by hand. I do plan to take it quite far, so we'll see where we end up :^)

The chest+pants is a combo item so I have both of those. Those are 5 feathers. The weapon is another 5, and significantly stronger than kinna

Pretty sure that Ramuh gets more damage the more orbs are on the stage, so you are still giving him more damage by leaving them around.

Tested that bit as well and it wasn't correct for hard mode. Empty field vs full field shock strikes dealt the same amount, ~3k not including shielding.

Weve used warrior up to post-arr but it cant keep up with healing needed until heavensward. Prior to heavensward quests and ability unlocks Gunbreaker beats it out by ~20 heal potency/gcd, or, on silence echo, an extra 120 heal potency/gcd. Specifically, its 80/gcd for warrior, 100 & 200/gcd respectively for gnb

@@eiriksundby the wikis have been oddly 2 polar opposites of themselves. Incredibly accurate on obscure information, and incredibly inaccurate. Id have to double check to figure out what exact damage its talking about increasing dependent on the number of orbs, but our main test was with the Shock Strike tank buster, the main reason I couldnt level sync. Shock strike ranged from 1800-3200 depending on my shields and mitigations. This was consistent no matter how many orbs were on the field. Id get hit in the 3000-3200 range with no shield or mits, and closer to 1800 with a shield and nebula up.

Alexander would be annoying, though. I think it's the fight vs quickthoughts? The one where you get put in jail. Nidhogg ex might not be doable unless you can skip the nail phase or ignore their damage, I can't remember how the check works. Triad is fairly trivial except sephirot's double stack on EX does a fuckton of damage. Ya need to invuln every other one he does, but then the big phase is it's own problem (damage is real high and one mistake is death, you can't sustain enough). Thordan ex is also doable but the... duo or trio phase, where they do blade dance. You gotta murder them REAL fast before they tether. I think everything else is doable? Idk about stormblood ex trials, but I think tsuku and suzaku are at least doable. Might run out of vril on ex lakshmi.

@@rathgames ? No, by all means, play how you find fun. Personally I think 14 is by and large too easy, so I do some story stuff solo and always try to turn off the echo for story instances. It's fun to have to use health pots to survive in something outside of the deep dungeons. More power to ya, I'm interested to see what roadblocks you run into.
