this has to be THE best gameplay series i've seen in recent memory, if not ever. It's always a delight to see the ways you overcome challenges and basically play ARR "as intended" with all the crafting and such, "back in my day we didn't have all the modern QoL additions!" -- as usual, can't wait to see more and will follow the streams, too; so much fun times!

This has been a joy to watch, I was planning to replay MSQ on 7.0 as blue mage, I would also add some restrictions to make the class feel less "overpowered" and hopefully give a feeling of a legit, non limited job when going through the content. I was planning to be recording this progress and turn into a series since I never covered anything SQEX Related in my channel, despite having about 3 or 4 usernames that were related to Square Enix franchises. Anyway, point is that your series has rekindled the flame to pursuit this challange when the time comes. After all, your solo challange was taken to a whole new level and so far with all the hurdles you made it possible. My idea should be more simpler and way less ambitious than your solo run but it should be fun either way. Always good to see new, inventive ways to play games in a way they're most likely not supposed to.

I've recently been watching this series and it's honestly inspired me to finally unlock and start levelling all my crafters. They're all in the 15 range now, and I'm gonna try to craft myself the level 20 armor, so I can then do Firmament Collectables, and from there I already have level 30 and 50 armor from previous endeavors into crafting (bsm and gsm respectively). Props to you for having gone this far, plus wherever Solo Only is at now.

In my own personal experience, Wanderer's Palace is horrifically unbalanced when you're solo. I went in as a 80+ paladin and I was using gear from Aurum as part of a 'dungeon gear only' challange. Wanderer's Palace killed that challenge run because he just hits so freaking hard. I didn't have the willpower to keep grinding the first two bosses for armor drops so I could go to an easier 50 dungeon for higher ilevel to come back to fight him.

Yeah. Yeah. Wanderer's hurts. Oh it hurts. I've soloed it as Scholar before but I think that was at level 80 in...VERY good gear and no limitations at all.

Your editing in general is fantastic, but the choice to sync up the Ultima theme with your final pull was PERFECT - I genuinely let out a cheer when you pulled him in time with the beat dropping. I like this video format very much and the challenge is entertaining content and a fresh idea given that this is far away from the usual theme park MMO experience. It makes me curious how far you can push solo...I imagine there would be some mechanics in upcoming fights that could prove impossible as a solo player, but so far you've always proved me wrong. I'm definately hope you will continue the challenge for post-MSQ and maybe even into 3.0 and beyond. :P

Congrats! The series so far has really been a ride! The highs and lows and your creativity in solving the walls has been amazing! I'm just very worried that the difficulty spike upwards past base ARR is gonna be a big wall, since 8 man trials being tuned for DPS checks with add phases that kill you if you don't meet it is a big problem to solve.

I started to play FF14 a little before you took up this gigantic task. Even though I haven't had the time to play this whole summer I've always loved to see your videos and progress. I once quickly lurked on stream but as I said, haven't had the free time. Thank you for giving me some of the best content in KZbin by far! Also thank you for regularly reminding me about this game that I've yet to fully experience. I had time to get the trinity title as I love triple triad and I am at the very beginning of HW. You also gave me even more passion to try to get the necromancer title even though I am far away from it gameplay wise and mechanically :)

As a WAR main myself, one thing that might help you in the long run, If its not banned from your run that is, you can macro Holmgang, to target yourself. Thus eliminating it falling off early against trash pulls on those rare occasions it happens. It also used to keep you from getting locked in place, though that's not an issue any more. edit: Little known fact of Holmgang is that if your target dies, Holmgang falls off too, even if you had 8secs left. Seeing ppl do things like this just brings a sparkle to my soul and re-invigorates me to do challenges like, Soloing old extreme fights or fighting older bosses synced. Keep on traveling, dear Warrior; may your axe, Bill be always sharp.

If you continue this series if you haven't already taken this job I would recommend Blue Mage. It's unlocked after beating Ultima and is built to solo dungeons with the right spells. You can choose to ban it if you want especially since it technically requires some quest rewards to function best and it would kind of trivialize a lot, but if you so choose the option is there. Up until Endwalker or so since iirc it has a level cap of 80 EDIT: checked to make sure on this and you have to use the quest rainmaker to actually level Blue mage at all. Straight up from level 1 to you complete the level 50 job quests you have no other options for arms. And it isn't until level 60 blue mage when you can first buy another arm and that arm is a level 60 arm anyways. There's no craftable arms either so you have to use the quest one or discard it and rebuy it from the calamity salvager to technically make it count but only on the grounds you have to make that npc purchase

You have a lot more resolve than i do, i think id have lost my sanity foung this challange haha Also, the ultima fight, after returning well after heavens ward released and playing the sage for the first time, resulted im panicking while figuring out tank busters and what to assist the tank in mitigating. And lots of late group shields
