Corona is a Mexican beer and I like that one a bunch! A twist of lime makes it perfect. Did not drink the water on my many trips to Mexico but I sure did drink beer. Mexico, Central American, and Caribbean island nations all have some excellent beers. Also, water isn’t bad in most of these places but it has different “stuff” floating in there than what one is used to and therefore can upset the tummy.

That turned out awesome! It would look great sitting on a bar in someone's mancave. On a technical note, seems like 5 minute epoxy would be a better choice for gluing the blank to the base, especially when it is tricky to support the other end. It takes a little longer to completely cure, but I was thinking you were putting a lot of faith in that hot glue.

Hey there Mr. Zammeti, I had an idea that might look good as a resin project. Pour small amounts of different colored resin out on a sheet of plastic o4 parchment paper so it forms thin irregular shaped pools, ridges and wrinkles would be fine. when those are cured peel them up and then recast them in a tinted but clear resin so they form vertical and horizontal ribbons in the resin. turn to desired shape. I think something with a light inside or below would look funky.
@leospitz65412 жыл бұрын
Just a small addition, in the future if you are doing a resin poor with lots of small objects like these might I suggest a bit of time in the vacuum pot before you pressure pot it? High pressure may compress the little bubbles and get rid of them but it won't do anything for large bubbles trapped under the domes of the lids where as a vacuum could.
@aliciahouserbtsfangirlfore25152 жыл бұрын
Hey Nick awesome resin art I find it to be a masterpiece. Try the plastic caps next as you have an easier time shaping plastic bits in resin. By the way I think but not sure that cap with the Red Dog on it is actually called Red Dog.

My favorite spots are where the the top of a cap is gone and you look through the ring of what's left. Nick, that 5 minute epoxy you use to attach your emblem is what you should use to attach your work to your scrap box. Ben over at BensWorx marks up the bottom of this work with a screwdriver to get a surface that will hold, then uses the 5 minute epoxy to hold it down to the scrap block.
@GiraffeFlavored2 жыл бұрын
I think it's Sprague Woodturning? who takes a bunch of hot glue sticks, melts them in a hot plate, and just has a pan full of hot glue that he just dips the project into to stick it down. The benefits of hot glue being easy to remove, either with a little heat, or a scraper dipped in acetone as Peter Brown does it, as well as not needing to mix it, and technically reusable, all while being very very strong like 5 minute epoxy is. More of a quantity > quality thing there lol, but I think more makers should do that, seems to work out for him
@jeffwright57302 жыл бұрын
Hi Nick I’m new to wood turning and just bought a 10” lathe mostly to turn pens and pencils. I’m trying to make a similar project but in wood only for my first time. I’m not having much luck and not sure what I’m doing wrong. The outside is fine but when I try to cut the inner sides my tool keeps bouncing and knocks the piece off the lathe I’m running it at 1200 rpm’s and using a round carbine blade. And handy techniques that you can share I would take to heart. Thanks
