5 trip veteran here (2000 - 2004). Always on the trail in 1st week of August. 31 days on the trail, and only 1 afternoon - evening of drizzling rain. One entire trip without a cloud in the sky. Never had a reservation. In those days 26 hikers were allowed at each end per day, of which 6 were allotted for walkups like me. On 3 occasions, walked up and started same day; on the other 2 trips, we started next day. Moniques was open for some amazing burgers, while the crab shack at the Nitinat was mostly for takeaway with just a couple of tables for dine in. Camped at almost every beach except Cullite, Logan Bonilla. Difficult to express how much i love this trail.

Thanks homie, really appreciate that. The funny thing is I left my pro mist at home; that was 100% trail ambience. So humid out there. I thought that exact same thing while editing through the footy.

South to north is the way to go. I would not do this heading south, except I suppose you have less food to carry during the steepest parts of the climb.

Oh man a 20kg Pack! You could have cut much down from that. I did that in the beginning to, going down to a Backpack around 12kg made hiking much more enjoyable for me. Great video and thanks fpr capturing the experience!

Yeah, camera gear will do that to you 😂 I highly recommend no one take a 50LBS bag
@joel.wuestehube2 жыл бұрын
@@Noahvde my set up is like 6kg for all of my hiking gear and clothing + 6kg for camera gear (including drone). That ultra light equipment can be really expensive. But you can save so much by just taking the things you really need, and that's not much if you really think about it

Great one buddy 👍👍👍 Why Anamorphic ? Feels like lots of good shots got cropped.
@Noahvde2 жыл бұрын
Thanks TK! Two main reasons. One, I like the vibe. Second being, I was so exhausted while hiking that I did a poor job at framing some shots. Gave me a bit of room to reframe :)
@TKOriginals2 жыл бұрын
@@Noahvde I watched it again. You are right!! Anamorphic is more cinematic.. How did you take those hiking shots? Keep the cam on tripod, walk, come back and take the cam and then walk again?

Great VIDEO, DUDE! Gotta correct the part where ya say the local native peoples have been there for over "4000" years. It's a nice guess or whatever but it's safe to say they've been there for well over 14000 years. We keep finding evidence that pushes the date back every few years. HOWEVER I was always told we've been here since... FOREVER. ;) I'm not trying to be an dink, it's just that us native folks of this area don't get to tell our story, and you folks just make stuff up. It's really annoying, and to be honest its' fn sad.
