The problem with the business list is that the program has no money allocated yet for compensation. If a business currently sends in a firearm, they will receive no compensation until it is approved in a fall economic statement or a spring budget, the latter of which could potentially bring down this government. However, we're talking about billions of dollars that we don’t have. So, when Dominic said that he's already seen these guns destroyed, that’s probably true, but most likely these were from businesses that went bankrupt or owners who passed away, so they weren’t really willing participants.

This is as stupid as the original Cook County Ban ( long before the state came up with a ban, the county enacted its own list of firearms that county residents could not keep within the corporate boundaries of the county, the way that this was done was one county board member compiled a list of " military features" that she felt should be banned, then she hired two summer interns ( college kids with no knowledge whatsoever of firearms) and sent them out to visit gunshops to compile a list of firearms having the features on the list ( immediately she hit a snag, neither of her two shills had a firearms owners card so by state law they couldn't be shown or allowed to handle any firearms, nor were they legally allowed to set foot in a gunshop, so she sent them to Indiana to carry out their perfidy) and the list they came up with included ARs ( and any variant) Aks, ( and any variant) M-1 carbines, ( they can accept a magazine over 10 rounds) M-1As Fn/ Fals, Galils, Uzi carbines, Ruger 10/22s, ( again it will take an after market mag over 10 rounds), and any shotgun having an extended tube mag. And the list of features that can be used against individual firearms, included, a flash hider, a muzzle brake, a top mounted carrying handle, a pistol grip, a wire, folding, or adjustable stock, a thumbhole stock bayonet, or bayonet lug, the ability to accept a magazine over 10 rounds, lazer sights, ( they somehow magically increase the lethality of a given firearm) and again any shotgun having an extended tube magazine ..

They have a full registry for every restricted out there and that has not changed since 1934. The non-registry registry for non-restricteds is when shops started to take down license numbers and were required to keep that data for a set amount of years. There is no way they can know who has what based off of those because you can do private sales. They can only try to trace from the name they have at the store. Quebec was for some reason allowed to keep records of the original registry despite that having always been useless - talk about spineless politicians (that was the cons) who didn't push back on Quebec for that one. No political party in Canada is good for firearms owners despite what so many people think here.
