Gteat video. My Family had a 2012 SE Camry but with the 2.5 liter. Rock Solid car with zero issues. We passed it down to my Daughter before she was rear-ended and the car was totaled. I am on the look out for one of these with the 3.5 V6 and they are hard to find, especially with low miles. Are you sure your Parents car is a 2012 model? It has the newer 2014 more modern headlamps.

I have a 2012 Camry, the XLE. It has the V-6 and is also my commuter. I purchased it used in 2020 with 75k miles for $10,000. I work out of town and currently have 156k miles on it. I have done nothing but fluids, a new battery, brakes, and tires. Rock solid car. I am curious however, I have the original radio in the car and would love to upgrade it my concern is my car is squeak free. Are you having any issues since you replaced the radio in this car? Also, I am pretty sure you can still use the steering controls but does the Bluetooth use a separate dongle? I thought I saw it on your pillar.

More drama would be, the 07’ and 08’ xle v6 trims, which did not have traction standard like the SE v6s. That my friend is, wheel hop+torque steer, and before Toyota neutered the 6speed with a weak torque converter. Get a xv40 and you can do very low 5s with eBay chassis parts.

I have a 2011 Venza ( Camry wagon ) FWD with the V6. Thing is an absolute beast on acceleration especially on the highway and the torque steer is insane when you floor it. I agree the fuel economy is actually pretty decent for a V6. Average 10-11 litres/ 100km. Approaching 200K and it still runs like a top ! ( Stay on top of the oil changes ! ) Smooth and quiet like a Lexus. Unfortunately the 2GR is history in all of Toyota’s line up replaced with 4 cyl hybrids in the Camry, Sienna and Highlander. 😢

My mom bought a 2012 SE V6 new. She still has it and it has 80K-ish miles on it currently. She likes it a lot. She is a speed demon though. So it works. Lol Definitely funny how quick it is for a regular Camry. Even though the newer v6's got the 8 speeds I still feel like this gen is quicker. I would like to test that.

I had a 2009 Camry SE V6 with all the options (Full leather, navi and JBL), got it used with 140k kms for 10,000 CAD, threw in a Cold air intake, one step colder plugs and did a 3 inch catback, all while filling the tank up with shell 91 octane. She was electronically limited to 240 kmh, but reached it 6-7 seconds quicker from a standstill. She would kill bolt on Sti and Evos on a straight line, however the handling was horrid even for the segment (Accord and Legacy had far superior handling) I eventually planned on getting coilovers, the supercharger and and the LSD from a Lotus Evora, but unfortunately sold the car and moved out of Canada :( Also I got the 2007-2011 generation because of the hydraulic steering, and the previous owner got the gearbox issue sorted out from Toyota as part of a recall.
