Very important. Technology is a luxury that makes life easier in general. A car manufacture's job is to provide the latest tech with pleasing aesthetic. Of course the older generation has different preferences but that just means they should balance it out.

Hey Philip, welcome to the channel! Glad to hear you’re enjoying the videos! The hybrid automatically charges throughout your drive based on if your braking, coasting etc. right now I’m averaging 6.8 L/100KM but got my best trip at 5.8L/100KM in the city. I’ll be doing a full deep dive on the fuel economy soon, so stay tuned :-)

Great video from a fellow Canadian. I did put down a deposit for the NX350h Caviar Ultra luxury package with red interior. It was a cancellation but we decided to cancel on it as well since my wife does not like the red interior. We went to the RX launch at a sister dealership and was able to reserve the exact model we wanted. We felt that the RX 350h has more cargo room. We would be able to get the Nori Green with Peppercorn interior and the most important feature for me was the Mark Levinson audio system. Can't wait!!

Thanks Michael! Honestly, I like the red interior for those who obviously want a more sporty look. Regardless, that’s an awesome upgrade up to the RX and glad you’re still kept a hybrid option. it was a coin flip for us between Nori green and eminent white. Nori green is so beautiful and unique and elegant. Very classy. Super excited for you! Are you in Ontario or another province? When do you think you’ll get delivery?

@@carswithsonduren , I am in Montreal. Should be mid March. I disregard the 2022 RX350 at first because I really like the handling of the 2022 NX350h that much better. But I have to say, the 2023 RX, it feels firmer which is what I like coming from a modified suspension IS250 2009.

What do you think about the HUD ? I don’t think you mentioned it in the last video but I can’t see it on the screen as you are driving. Can it be turned on / off ? What are the seats like. Hey John! Since this is the ultra luxury package, it does not have the heads up display, which is part of the executive package in Canada. What’s basically missing here is that, the Mark Levinson sound system and electronic folding and heated rear seats. The cabin lighting is nice at night time and you can change it to whatever you’d like even in different zones. Glad you enjoyed the video. I’ll have more coming out soon to scratch more of that itch :) August is not too far away!

Battery was good especially since it’s upgraded for the new NX. Obviously in the spring and summer it will do even better.

The dash layout is very nice. The screen is large enough imo. Personally not a fan of the tesla type screens. I like that the instrument cluster is modern but also a tad classic in its appearance. Britannia Rd?

Just be mindful of the sensors and not point direct at them with a 0 degree pressure washer nozzle haha. I have been pressure washing the entire time no issues.

I think the EV only mode only works for very low speeds, like 10 to 15 miles per hour. At least when I tried it and says so in the owners manual

That is correct. For me in Canada, I notice it cuts off around 30kmph for EV-only mode, but that does not mean you can't run on battery even up to 70 kmph when you are pulse and gliding.

@carswithsonduren Ah okay, 30kph is about 18mph... I've only had my NX350h premium for about 3 weeks and am still figuring everything out... owners manual just mentions typical use of EV only mode to be quiet in neighborhoods or parking garages and may only last for about a mile or so before the gas motor kicks on.. seems to be a useful option if needed for someone. I probably won't use or need the EV switch, just like to know what it's capable of doing. Thought it would be cool to use for short trips to the store. But think it's best to leave it alone and let the motor system do what it needs to, i.e. charge the traction battery...

@Maverick.Killian that’s exactly the recommendation which essentially means the button and function is useless because you’re just trusting the ECU to do it all automatically to maximize fuel economy :)

Your going to love it! I highly recommend getting a PPF on it or at minimum ceramic coating when it comes!

10:56 we love the new tech in the NX!. I even love the new strange way to get out of the car..makes much more sense to just push out the door then pull first and then push in a traditional car. Love the cameras and the 14” screen and hopefully “Hey Lexus” will get more foolproof as they update software periodically….car play is great when it connects…and same with the charging pad for your phone….but that works only occasionally….hoping for future updates …lane tracing can be kinda quirky when you intentionally want to cross over a line, say to turn…but I love the idea it will keep me more centered in the lane if I start to drift a bit! Bottom line…love the new tech in the NX…we have the nori green with Hazel…aka Palomino interior…it is beautiful!

That’s for your review. I was wondering about the engine noise. Does it happen when you take off slowly or accelerate quickly? I’m waiting two more months for my 350h caviar with palomino leather interior. How long did it take to get yours? Is the noise more than engine noise of regular engine? Game breaker?

Glad you enjoyed it Wayne I’ll have more videos on the NX coming :) It happens only under harder acceleration, it just sounds a little bit whiny. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it is on the unrefined side and since I am in so many nice sounding cars all the time it’s a small disappointment. We got lucky and picked up a cancelled order with the exact spec we wanted and only waited 6 weeks!

Some reviewers don’t like the braking system in the 350h and report it being jerky. I’m in the US and there are no hybrids to test drive. What has been your experience using the brakes?

Obviously, the total torque figure is one thing to consider, but how the torque is delivered and where in the RPM band as a whole other thing. Because of the electric battery you’re really feel the torque in normal daily driving situations versus what these numbers reflect and versus what may be a normal combustion engine would make you feel.

Did you pick the Lexus maybe also because it's the more solid brand with more years in the market regarding reliability?

Proven brand with the best reliability in the industry, one of the best for keeping its value and I personally owned 2 other Lexus cars and had nothing but an amazing experience and both of those cars had over 350,000km. Yes the Genesis is faster, but how much does 0-60 speeds matter in daily driving scenarios? Not so much, low end torque and fuel economy are lot important to me.
