Spike should stay in the background because honestly he has such a big ego and Twilight should have spent more time teaching Spike the basics like walking, talking, reading, and writing and every time he goes through the molt effect Twilight should have sent him away and made sure that he didn’t harm any pony with his fire burps and everything else and so that he could keep his big ego in check and grow at a normal pace for a dragon his age and maybe even go and marry Princess Ember or be with Smolder but that’s just my two bits

I think one possible element, may have been Spike's true origins. I mean, we had that dragon who pretended to be Spike's biological father, but I always still wondered if we would ever get any answers on where Spike came from. It probably would have been a sequel to the MLP 2017 movie. Just like that movie our Mane Six would have discovered more outside Equestria but it would have led to Twilight and her friends unexpectedly meeting trouble. Spike would have a huge role and it would have tied more into his backstory. New creatures and characters would show up as well as probably returning ones from the 2017 movie. I think this would be a perfect idea to do a sequel. Honestly, what we got in the G4 movie was great but there was potential to go even further but it didn't. I think they had plans to but then decide to scrap them and instead tie the movie into the show's canon, meaning the movie's events took place before season eight.

I went back to look over The Art of the MLP Movie' book and looked up some of the panels for the lands 'outside Equestria' the artists had come up with. I think the second movie concepts may have been trying to use some the cut/dropped ideas originally envisioned for the first movie. The lands Twilight and the Mane 6 were supposed to traverse across were expansive; hinted at in the book. Who knows what the writers might have come up with for a second movie.

I'm a big dragon fanatic so I'm biased, but man, I wish we had seen a more positive side to dragon culture. Heck, I wish we had seen a positive side to any of the other cultures in the show. Feels like we got a lot of negatives about non-ponies being either jerks, broke, or idiots, and at best we got some culture tidbits that were more quirky to put it kindly.

I think I was aware of the notion of cancelled sequels, and just resigned myself to it. It would have been good to see more movies, and I agreed with Silver Quill in his review that what we got should have been supported financially, but it’s understandable that they canceled those plans. As Mad Munchkin put it, the MLP movie wasn’t the magnum opus we were hoping for. I do hope that Hasbro has learned from these experiences as G5 unfolds, and am interested to find out more about what movies they might have made. If anyone wants to write a long fan fiction based on them, I’d love to see a long form video like that of your character’s origin, where you read it and it’s paired with wonderful fan art. By the way, are you planning to bring back the ‘A Moment With Dr. Wolf’ series for G5?

I think that underground city might have been home to the imps. I think the MLP staff wanted to add imps in the G4 sequel. Imagine the imps in Equestria. They might look similar to Magerblutooth's imp characters in the Diamond and Dazzle comic series.

From what I could tell from the concept art, it seems that the movie would have focused on the Main 6 and Spike more specifically their friendship. But even if it wasn’t that all I could say about it is that I hope that maybe by some slim chance that it gets released whether by Hasbro themselves or fans making it. Because I really badly want to see how it would have turned out. Either way I loved the concept art that was shown.

The mystery pony in the campfire artwork could have been a variety of possible characters. For example, maybe it could have been a G4 version of Argyle before the idea for G5 came about? It might have simply have been Trixie (colors are identical to hers, although her hat is missing). For all we know, she might play the guitar on the side when she's not pulling magic tricks.

All of these are good and thought provoking images. The last one though makes me feel as though it was long after the Mane5 are gone, which we know now did happened thanks to how old they all appeared in the S9 final. But Twilight is not a Celestia Recolor. And the staff behind the show DID release a season 10 poster before removing it when S9 became the final. So they were creating plans for a period after S9 that ultimately never got to be. Hence those stain glass windows in the final and why the S10 comics were made. Now, as for the images themselves... I would've loved to had seen these. I've always said the 2017 film, while being longer than the EG films, still had way too many songs and little to no time to use these new characters as their one song took up all of their screentime before rushing to the next scene. So a second film might've improved from that, as EG4 did, and the giant dragon...that shadow Spike is with..I can imagine that whomever they were had ties with the dragons and possibly an old Dragon Lord or a brother race akin to ponies and zebras. Could Spike had formed a new friendship? Found his mom? Or even rallied this new race to help in the final fight? Celestia this needed some comics. >_>

One of the G4 comics had a female character by that name. I can't remember if it was in the mainline comic or one of the side miniseries. She was the same species as Discord and was an ex-girlfriend of his, but he quickly found out that she was very insane and dangerous and sealed her away in a similar manner that Celestia did Luna. 1000 years later (naturally), Twili and the gang accidentally free her. I think, in that case, they got possessed by relics they found.

I'm a bit disappointed... I would have loved to have seen a G4 movie with a Dragon being the main antagonist. If only to show just how powerful G4 Dragons could be. Like, I'd imagine it'd be a former Dragon Lord, who hates and refuses to accept the fact that Dragons are now allying themselves with Ponies and other species. And so, is now scheming to somehow destroy the trust between ponies and dragons. Which could lead to some very interesting interactions between Spike, as a dragon who's been raised by ponies, and this villain Dragon.

Had this G4 film sequel gone ahead as scheduled and released, it would've marked another "widening the scope" of what more Equestria has not shown. Whereas the story would be like a lost continent of Equestria where friendship is sorely lacking and it's up to the Mane Six to explore this place, but in a twist discover it could threaten all of Equestria with Spike's time to shine! I could already picture if outside help from Starlight, Sunset, and Trixie could provide an even more interesting story too.

Hopefully they still make this movie, I know we’re in G5 now but that doesn’t mean we can’t completely abandon G4 and the ponies and the other characters. Look at Star Wars (I know it’s a bad example) and to some extent Marvel, they keep the old characters around as they introduced a new generation of heroes through the movies and Disney plus. Why can’t it be the same here?

@@flowersshy16 But that doesn't mean they can't go back to it, Black Widow still came out despite what happened in Endgame and for Star Wars during the prequel era when those movies were coming out, they probably still make Han Solo, Leia and Luke Skywalker merchandise despite the three of them not being alive during that era until the end of the Revenge of the Sith at least. The same goes for Harry Potter for Fantastic Beasts and Avatar: The Last Airbender for Legend of Korea, they are set in different time periods. They found a way to include Dumbledore and Nagini in Fantastic Beasts and the main characters in Korra. They also keep the legacy of these characters alive, whether it's through comics, spin offs or heck even the merchandise. I don't see why they can't do that with the mane six, Spike and the rest of the other charecters

This may sound pretty lame to some of you but this is the best I got for a concept Plot : So this does take place after the 2017 movie and it shows that equestria has massively expanded Twilight along with the others are trying to have a relaxing vacation however spike isn’t having a good time because he’s been receiving orders from twilight and her friends mostly rarity. He’s been asked to set up the tents while they chill out around the campfire, to carry rarity’s things which makes him slower than the others and other things they could do themselves. These events make spike run away with a weird dragon creature mashup to this underground metropolis so he can live care free with other misfit dragons. Twilight and the others must go on a dangerous journey to find spike but with a lot of trials along the way. As for the big dragon, he rules that city and he adores spike he takes spike under his wing for a bit of the movie and tries to turn spike against Ponies “ You didn’t deserve that fate “ he would say to spike. Spike wouldn’t take his offer to stay in the city so the big dragon cast a spell to possess spike into rejecting ponies ( Kinda like brainwash ), the final battle is a face off between twilight and Spike an epic fight that would take place from the underground city all the way to canterlot Idk this plot sounds really cheesy and boring

I can just hope, if G5 will not rach the Expectations of Hasbro, they still can made Movies, Specials and Shorts in the G4 Universe. The Show has ended, but this not mean there will be nothig more. Usual an Studio extend an Franchise until the Quotes get low. As long there are not People at Hasbro, who want to force the G4 Fans into the alternate G5 Universe, they should see, the Fanbase for G4 is still strong and would be happy to see more. I'm still not sure how G5 will run, how much G4 wil appear in the Show ad if they can better Storys is better as in the Movie. In the Movie there was just the Window with Twilights Cutiemark and a Wonderbolds Poster who can be older then 50 years, while G5 had Nightmare Moon, Starsquirl and the Pillars, all from the Past. The Story in the G5 Movie was often stupid, like Ponys are in Jail for faking Flying (similar stupid like Twilight try to steal a Pearl) or Storyparts where the Viewer see the Solution of a Problem and the Movie just show the way how the Char find the same Sollution. Maybe G5 will join Equestria Girls and Pony Life as Sidestorys, who have Fans, but never will reach the successfull G4.

Despite how I would’ve been potentially captivated entirely by the new notions and depictions that have been showcased and are immensely textural and stupendous, I’m rather intrigued entirely by the philosophy of the 2017 retrospective spectacle or the subsequent sequel of evocation, particularly I’m pertaining to Twilight. Also, I would’ve loved to see the new character and story arcs, embedded with the vast majestic landscape to venture out new captivating settings and ordeals too. And I would’ve seen a much more sufficient amount of time, introspect and development, for the iconic characters, and I gotta genuinely say that I vaguely know that pony, but it is rather plausible that he’s a collateral character, and bound to undoubtedly be so immensely charismatic, I dare tell yah. Ooh and BTW, It’s indubitably official, HNY (HAPPY NEW YEAR)!!! 😁😁

seeing these beautiful cave towns reminds me of something I've been thinking about for some years. What if it was a pony town, with Earth ponies, Pegasi, and Unicorns worshiping Princess Luna instead of Princess Celestia. They see Celestia as a villain for banishing luna to the moon, so many years ago that they only come out of the cave when it gets dark. Twilight and her friends, will try to convince these ponies that Celestia is not a villain. PS. Sorry for my bad eng.
