My heart goes out to all of you. Your father is a very strong and spiritual man. Im a 58 year old female that started falling last February alot. Tthey did a MRI on my hips and found cancer on my left hip and lower spine. I was devastated I shut everything out for months. Just went to bed. My church found out and forced me out of the house and back where I belong. Jesus Christ brought me back to church.

I am impressed by your Dad's attitude regarding his cancer diagnosis. Many physicians have stated that a patient's attitude can have an enormous effect on their recovery and their well being. He and your Mom are helping so many people by sharing their experiences and their recommendations for early testing and having a PSA test for all men over 50. All of you are in my prayers. Take care.

In 2015 I was given 2-6 years. I’m now 70. After I got over the shock and then the depression, it changed my whole attitude about life. My saying is, “I’m still breathing, every day’s a miracle!” I consider myself so lucky to have had the time to truly appreciate life and to show and tell my friends and family how much I love them. I bake birthday cakes for all my friends and make sure the group of friends get together to eat cake and celebrate, at our age things like that slip away. Every day is special but birthdays are the one day in a year where you’re the special person. You guys celebrate birthdays awesomely! I guess I felt I needed to say be thankful instead of sad, you now have the opportunity to spend the rest of his life, showing him how much you care. No regrets. Love you guys, you’re awesome people!

I’m a survivor of stage 4 cancer of unknown primary. The average lifespan is 9-12 months after diagnosis. I took care of my affairs and then gave it over to the Lord. 6 surgeries, 24 rounds of chemo and countless scans and blood tests I never thought I would die. I had peace which allowed me to work full time 5 weeks out of the hospital, drive myself to and from chemo treatments and every scan. Your Dad has the right mindset. Good doctors and a good prayer circle is my best advice other than don’t be afraid to switch doctors if they don’t have your best interest at heart. Praying for your family!

My husband had robotic prostate cancer removal -10 years ago! He got a PSA test done 2 months ago…the cancer was outside of the prostate . Doctor removed 20% outside of prostate, thought he got it all. He had 35 consecutive radiation tests done. He was 49 years old. Now , 60 years old , the cancer is considered prostate cancer , even though he no longer has a prostate. It is in about a dozen lymph nodes outside of his spine & neck. He just received his 1st chemotherapy infusion. He is doing well. Enjoys playing with/ grandson, he keeps busy . He went hunting last month. Got 2 buck deer. He is a believer in our Heavenly Father! May God surround your family & give you His strength! Take Care & stay aware! Waiting for next Chemotherapy infusion in 8 days! 🙏🏻😔

He was able to go to MD Anderson in Houston, we traveled there from Florida. He is doing fine now thanks to the grace of God. The medical center is huge. We stayed at a hotel next to the hospital which supplied a shuttle bus to go to and from and had a nice kitchenette in it for making meals. The staff is so knowledgeable and kind. You will be happy that you made the appointment.

Today, as I post this, my sweet 81-year-old friend and his (retired marine) son are about an hour north of home building a kit log home. They’re working through (unseasonably light) 1 to 3 inch snow now, hoping to get the roof on before the real winter hits. That’s amazing for his (young) age and amazing remission, too. Bert, Jessica, and Family, I'm sending prayers, and a very large hug. In 2012, my Dad was diagnosed with metastatic carcinoma. As your Dad mentioned there was no family history of his cancer...the same with my Dad. The best thing we as a family could do for Dad, and Mom was be there to help whenever possible. Drive Dad to treatment, and doctor appointments when Mom needs a break. Go over to your parents house, and just listen to Dad talk about any thing, and everything. We'd help Mom with meals, laundry, groceries, or anything else. Please remember you have friends here who understand if you need to take a break, and not vlog. Family comes first❤

Praying for your father and your family. For anyone who may read this, my husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer 17 yrs ago. He was in his early 50's. Luckily for him, his Dr. and my husband had always kept up with his yearly PSA tests. My husband was told by his urologist that if you're 50 yrs old you have a 50 percent chance of having prostate cancer. For every 10 yrs after that, your chances increase 10 percent. So if you're 60 yrs it's 60 percent. Wives, make sure you ask your hubbies to not forget to get their PSA test. Merry Christmas to everyone, and may God bless the Somers.

My husband was deployed with the Kansas National Guard and I was in a new state hundreds of miles from home, friends and family. My work environment was horrible. As you know, your parents are awesome. I don’t know how I would have survived those months without them. They are a lot of the reason I watch you and your sister Jesica’s vlogs. Stay positive ❤❤❤. I had stage 3 cancer 10 years ago. I had surgery, 5 months of Chemotherapy and 24 radiation treatments. I am now 10 years cancer free. When the Doctor said stage 3 cancer. I said give me everything you’ve got. He said I love your attitude. Stay positive ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I was afraid that was what was happening. As soon as I seen the video come up before watching I asked my Mom to pray with me. Where two or more are joined together in his name there he will be also. So we together are praying for your Dad and the family. She lost her Dad when she was 2 and my son lost his Dad when he was 10 months old. Everyone should get a chance to love on their Dad until a very old age. Keep your faith. Have a blessed day. ❤ and 🙏

Bert and family, your dad is a very smart man. My heart is breaking for yall. Thank you for sharing about your dad. I know it is hard but we do not know when we will pass away, only God knows that. We have to be strong, positive and have lots of faith, most of all, never give up. The power of prayer is amazing. Praying for your dad and family. There is always hope, doctors do not know when we will pass away, only God knows that. The medical field has come a long way. I admire your dad so much, very smart man.

Prayers for your whole family! Your dad is handling this so amazingly on the outside but you can hear his concerns about your mom when he speaks. Let us all pray for him to have at least 10 more years without any pain. Love 💕 y’all!
