Thank you for your clear explanation and illustration! I'm finally learning what I've been searching for since my son died of gastric cancer 4 months ago. I will watch the rest of your videos on cancer. Again, thank you!

Your videos are great I honestly do not know where I'd be without them. When I need a visual explanation of something I don't understand, or I just want to learn more I certainly know where to look :)

At the end, where you point out the inhibition of cancer cells by immune system you drew Ig (acquired immune system). In fact there are cells first which start the fight with cancerous cells, mostly NK (innate immune system). Anyway message received :) Great videos

You mention that normal cells transform into cancerous cells and that cancerous cells share common traits, but you don't explain why these traits are common. If I understand correctly, genetic mutations happen all the time, but the vast majority have little effect or cause the cell to become non-functional, thus making it easy for the body to destroy them before they can do any damage. Only those specific genetic changes which cause the cell to divide rapidly, create new blood vessels and inhibit the self-destruct mechanism (apoptosis) are able to grow fast enough and avoid the body's defence mechanisms for long enough that they can become a threat to the survival of the organism. Is that right? BTW, your videos are excellent, thanks! :-)

Hey Paul, Yes, I should have pointed out, that multiple mutations that do not get repaired, or are unnoticed and occur in certain gene regions car trigger the development of a cancerous cell. I hope one day I will make a video on the causes of cancer, to highlight this. And regarding the common traits, that would be part of causes, how more mutations due to what not, lead to different varieties of the cancer cell line.

One thing I wonder.... if Colorectal cancer is the second most common cancers in men and women, and WHO have discovered that red meat is a carcinogen, why is there not more public health campaigns to get people to give up red meat like there is with smoking??
@arianabtsarmy1826 Жыл бұрын
Here we go again, nothing about these studies is confirmed 100%. Red meat is not dangerous, human beings are making it dangerous because of pollution. If you raise cows in a good environment, their meat is absolutely gonna be great for your health, you need proteins to survive. And believe me that anything is allowed to eat ( Halal) is good for your health. Alcohol cause a lot of dangerous diseases, did WHO ban its consumption? Of course no, cuz this will effect their money. The religion that forbidden drinking alcohol is Islam because God knows better our bodies because Allah is the creator .
