Woooh! Amazing! I'm also protestant. My parents were catholics, protestantism started when my mom became a baptist and had the point of view of a protestant christian but she's gone long ago when I was still a kid... Right now I have found the truth about catholic faith, truly there's one, holy, catholic (universal) and apostolic church founded by Jesus Christ. I'm so blessed too to be part of the Catholic family I'm a freshly baptized catholic in October 1 this year. I'm so excited to receive more sacraments to come such as my confirmation, confession, communion, etc... But still even if I'm catholic love must still extend to the non-catholics... As He has said in His teachings: Love your enemies, pray for those who persecute you! ❤❤

Unfortunately, anything that is outside of the Word of God is of men. All of the Marian teachings elevated Mary to a place the Bible does not give her. She rejoiced in "God my savior." She recognized her need for salvation, which means she knew she had sin. Nowhere in Scripture does it indicate that Mary was assumed into heaven and then crowned queen of heaven. I was raised Catholic, but then began seriously studying God's word. For as much of an investigator that Candace is, she has obviously only used the Bible as one of many resources to make her conversion decision. The Bible is the only book that should matter.

Perhaps because I have always seen everything through the eyes of a practicing Catholic. I attended catholic religious education and received all my sacraments. I was never ostracized about my faith in public school and as an adult I have taught religious education to children attending public schools. Catholics teaching Catholics and we cannot depend on the public schools to teach our faith history. The government will teach the wrongs of all history to help ensure the wrong does not reoccur. We do not have to own the wrongs but we must learn from them.

I had started researching Catholicism just weeks before the debate between George Farmer and Allie Beth Stuckey premiered because my husband is Catholic. That debate was a turning point for me, as well. It made me realize how weak the argument is for Protestantism and I realized for the first time that Catholicism actually made sense. In fact, there were times I actually got frustrated with Allie Beth's arguments. By the time the debate was over my jaw had dropped and I just thought, "Wow...the Catholics are right about everything." It made sense then why they believe in asking for intercessional prayer from the saints, something I thought I would never be able to understand or believe.That debate changed me from, "I'm just curious about Catholicism" like Candace had been, to having a full-on quest for the Truth. And I kept finding it in Catholicism, not Protestantism. I discovered every crazy misconception about Catholics I had always believed was just that. Thank God for Candace and that debate! I believe He used her and her husband to help educate thousands and help bring them closer to Him.

Hmm... to each his own. I still believe that Jesus is the only way, the truth and the life. For me I always go to Him first, asking Him my questions directly and He always answers. Don't get me wrong Catholics do have some good things happening but when you look at the history of all the various changes in their doctrines that are made to suit the times of the different periods. For e.g. there was a reason for priests not getting married and it had to do with the church lands not being transferred to their children. Just saying.

Doctrines cannot be changed, ie the divinity of Christ, the Resurrection, the real presence of Jesus in the eucharist, and the authority of the pope. Disciplines however can be changed based on circumstances, like priestly celibacy. Eastern Catholic Churches for example have married priests. While the Church has faced challenges over the centuries, its core beliefs have remained constant. The Church continues to point people to Christ, just as it has since the Apostles. We Catholics also believe that Jesus is the only way, the truth and the life. Ultimately, Catholicism embraces the fullness of truth found in Catholicism and Sacred Tradition.

He started translating the bible from Greek without having any knowledge of Greek .He translated the " man is justified by faith " into " man is justified by faith alone " he added the word " alone " by himself .When someone criticized him for that he replied " Doctor Martin Luther translates it that way and that's how I want it."....over 1400 errors were found in his translation .He excluded certain books from the bible by his own authority …..he said the epistle of James is nothing more than straw because it does not present any evangelical character. Regarding the book of revelation he said that he does not find anything apostolic or prophetic in this book. He commissioned rude paintings of the pope of that time and got it published ( is that the conduct of a holy man ….a man inspired by God ?). When he blessed people he would say " May the Lord fill you with his blessing and hatred for the pope. ( Is that a blessing ? Or a curse?) On marriage he said that marriage is mandatory ….that woman was not created to be a wife but to beget children they only serve for marriage or prostitution. He said he hates divorce so much that he prefers bigamy. He allowed prince Phillip to have 2 wives and justified it based on the bible and when people found out…. he lied and said that one was his concubine and not his wife. He loved the virgin Mary and said she was the tender mother of God ….in his dining room He had the crucifix and and image of Mary holding the infant Jesus . He accepted baptism and the real presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. He later said that Lutheranism was no better than catholicism The only church Jesus Christ founded was the Catholic church not 48000 different protestant denominations. Catholic priests can trace their ordination ( some of them... Records in the Vatican) right back to the early church Fathers by the laying on of hands.... Whereas with protestant pastors anybody can wake up one morning and decide to be a pastor. Tithing went out with the New Testament... YET the protestant movement still make that mandatory. SO you see... The Catholic church is the one true Catholic and Apostolic church founded by Jesus Himself whereas the protestant church was founded by a man.

It is not grace alone nor is it belief alone. We are called to respond to the graces given...that response is a work...as love is a work:+) Examples below: 1) Our Lord said many would call Him "Lord, Lord..." but His reply would be "I do not know you, Depart from Me." Thus faith/belief in Christ is not enough. Even the demons believe that Christ is God but look where they are. 2) Our Lord specifically notes in His description of the Final Judgement what exactly separates the people from the right and the left: WORKS. 3) St. James wrote in Scripture: "faith without works is dead." 4) Our Lord said that the greatest commandment was to love the Lord your God with all of your heart, mind, spirit and soul. He then said that if we loved Him we would follow His commands. All works. 5) Yes, the Cross opened up heaven for us. But as St. Paul himself said "we have to WORK out our salvation in fear and trembling." Work...work...work...work. The grace isn't from us. We cannot do ANYTHING to open heaven, that is what Christ did. But we are called to respond to the grace with our love. And our love requires a work of response, of service, of faithfulness. You cannot call yourself a Christian and then go shoot up a gas station. St. Paul lists all of things we can do to not enter heaven. And yes, the Early Church believed all of this. The questions and answers to both of them, it was so visible you believed your husband more than your friend. I then prayed your friend would put out her own flames and wave the smoke away. I pray she will hear the voice of God. She would know she was blinded by the feel good sounds good, praise God. I say this humbly…I have been contemplating C vs P and one observation for me is that Catholics think their way to Chris, while the people that surround me in my church, which currently is of Baptist origin, but I’m there for the pastor and the amazing things the church is doing….are very emotionally committed to the WORD of God. No personal interpretation like you talk about. I know when I finally found Jesus I broke down in tears and I was ALL IN. I desire a personal relationship with God, which I have been developing and miracles are already happening in my life. I came from new age and I have been transformed. I don’t hear a lot of these kind of stories from Catholics. It seems to me like Catholics approach their faith more intellectually, and prods more emotionally. I’ve been on the fence because the structure is appealing on one level, but the passion and genuine love and kindness I feel more from Protestants.

During a Catholic mass, you might not see the emotion, but for many, (me included) it is there. It is more interior though. There have been many masses I have cried at while receiving Jesus in the Eucharist. We also all go through different spiritual seasons… if faith is just tied to emotions then when dry spells come, that can be really confusing. We need both faith and reason to sustain us. Fr. Mike has great teachings on KZbin if you’re interested, and he does a great job with the emotional side of the faith in addition to the intellectual. Prayers for your journey! 🙏🏼

As a person who grew up a devout Catholic, I loved my faith, but when cofronted with my own sin my religious upbringing had no power to set me free. The ceremony is beautiful…, But then one day in my Barracks room alone with God. I repented from my sin, and my plan; God would send a soldier by who would bring me to a church where holiness of life was shared, the beauty of the trinity came alive and the power of God established me in the faith sinful behaviors fell away. I began to gain victory over lust, cursing, pride, and I was born again. The power of God was on full display, and I left the ceremony for a reality. Thank God for my catholic origin, but thank God more for the power of the Word of God and New Testament Christian Church where God finally established me in the Faith. This testimony must make much more sense to those who are catholic, because I didnt hear anything about her inner tranfsrmation, what atcually happened to make her understand its THE Truth. Some people have conversions differently from others... Not everyone has a emotional (inner transformation) experience. Some have intellectual experiences in which they encounter the fullness of truth and convert. What I find as a Christian is that inner transformation can be a gradual thing that happens over time. Again, it's different for everyone and you can't put people in a box to categorize them.

My true, awesome experience in understanding, accepting and wholeheartedly loving Jesus came after a lifetime of Catholicism. I was baptized Catholic and was told what to believe, so I never questioned it. Eventually I parted ways with the Catholic church, and it wasn't until I started attending a Protestant church that my faith was reignited and just took off! I seek God every day, and feel the love growing inside me. Yes, there is a lot of praise music at my church, and I play it at home as well. We were made to feel through music! And I feel Holy Spirit through music much more than through mass. Our pastors teach and encourage us to read the bible! I never got that from being Catholic. This is just my experience. Like Candace said, every journey is different. God will not judge us based on our religion, but on our hearts. God bless!

I urge you to do more research on what the Catholic Church teaches and what the mass means. It seems like you don’t know enough information and that is why you are lead astray to Protestantism. Catholics are on fire for Jesus and for the Bible, in fact, during Mass we read three passages from the Bible and reflect on the Gospel. (And it’s not just randomly picked by what the pastor feels like talking about that day). Also, Music taste is extremely subjective and each mass in each parish has a different style. For God to solely base our love, connection, and worship for him through music and community is irrational. Those are all pluses, but not the main point. The Catholic Church is special because it was the church that was officially founded by Jesus Christ himself. Not Martin Luther or any other man-made religion after that.
