What a shame. 21 people accidentally clicked the dislike button. This was just an INCREDIBLE performance, and most people don't even know how hard that really is to play.

One of the things I really like about Mr Ross is seeing over his years of playing that things like tempo have become more consistent for him...I don't notice him changing speed in a song when, for instance, when he hits a part of a song that is a bit more difficult, his adrenaline speeds the play up for those few bars...He writes to challenge himself, which I also admire, but nowadays, he seems to polish his play on the songs to make his performance as precise as his writing...He is one of my favorites...

How do you compose something as complete as this? It's like, so perfect and easeliy played that you forget that he actually created it himself. I belive hes the best composer of all times, its like 3-4 rips melted together to the perfect piece, a bass that will make your soul bounce to the rythm and a tune so funky that you just want to pick up the guitar and use ½ your life to learn this song.

The type of guitar he has, and the way it is tuned makes the tapping heard really easily. Acoustic guitars are the best, and the better quality one you have the better it will sound. Also, he taps on the 12th, 9th, 5th, or 7th frets, which make harmonics when he hits them. I hope this helped, and didn't confuse you more xD.
@upabittoolate
@upabittoolate 14 жыл бұрын
@HarmPoy Definitely. I think some might go into it assuming that Ross isn't a jazz guy but jazz actually is folk music; it's very complex but it's still folk music. I also got to see Lagrene doing some acoustic stuff once. I think they'd mesh well. It also seems like Lagrene sorely misses his mentor.

Many people say that this style on acoustic guitar and metal are deeply related: Kaki King said that "acoustic musicians were searching for a somewhat more violent way to play their instrument, after hard rock, metal and funk came out", so they came up with this style of fingerpicking (i'm quoting an interview on an italian online radio). Another interesting fact: Andy McKee was a metalhead before playing acoustic. ;)
