I've been recognizing dogs body language my whole life without being able to pick out many specific movements. I could tell you what they're feeling/thinking, but couldn't explain it's because the ears are forward or lip licks etc. Your videos really bring together an understanding for dogs I've felt my whole life. Every time I watch, I understand more about my favorite friends. Thank you

@@DougHinVAlikely because most “real professional dog handlers” are complete shit. That framed paper means nothing short of someone took some classes. I don’t have said classes or paper personally but have helped dogs and succeeded where others have failed miserably. And I use cruelty free training methods as well. Not correction free, cruelty free. Like the original commenter I cannot always explain things with dogs but I feel things with them before I see them. That paper in the wall, means nothing. Results in a healthy manner. THAT means absolutely everything.

My son has a rescue Pitty that is the most dominant dog I have ever seen. We think he is about 6, not intact, but still wants to mount every dog he comes in contact with. He can’t go to dog parks and my son has to keep him away from other dogs but he is alive, and was not put down at the shelter. I have learned a lot from your videos.

Regardless of what this person says, don't allow your dog to camp the gate. It's going to end badly every time. Also, if you have a bad ass dog, expect the dog to do bad ass things in the dog park. There was a 140 lb Rottweiler female that would instantly go after my American Bulldog and you would think they were fighting but they actually loved each other. I actually wish I would have seen the puppies coming out of that situation but it never happened. Other people were freaking out while both of us as dog owners were just enjoying it.

@testerwulf3357
@testerwulf3357 9 ай бұрын
Yes. Ronin did it to test where he was at in the pack, of which the dog gave a challenging stare; in the beginning-ish section. It’s a test of dominance which is followed up by challenge or submission which either de-escalates the situation or escalates it depending on reaction depending on how it’s done it can also be done to initiate play! From what I can see laying your head on the back is dominance but a quick tap and jumping back is play

Hey I have a question to anyone willing to answer. For some reason my dog is very reserved in the greeting ritual, she is relaxed and confident sniffing other dogs but rarely lets other dogs sniff her. Doesn't matter if on leash or not, but I notice it's more prominent when we're in the city compared to the countryside. She'll make a jump and turn very quickly, really evading any attempt from other dogs to snuff her behind. Yet she doesn't seem scared or stressed. She doesn't seem to mind the hypocrisy either 😂 So... Anyone know what that's all about. Thanks in advance ❤

@@testerwulf3357 thanks for sharing this about your dog. I saw a short vid about a dog named Whiskey where the owner deduced it was also about the other dog's pushy behaviour, as she read that Whiskey was signaling a need for space and patience to the other dog. I never pushed my dog or forced her to be more social, since there's no real life benefit to it. Most I've done is encouraged her a bit but as soon as she backs away or gives me 'that look', I let her guard her boundaries. I was just curious to know more about it, and if it was something that needed change or not. It's so enriching to keep learning about this, my understanding of animals and humans has changed so much since I adopted one! ✨

exactly my point. Dog parks are for people not dogs. Why subject your dog to such abuse? Don't you love your dog? Muzzling your dog is like putting a 6th grader in a school yard full of bullies with handcuffs on. Your muzzled dog will never be the same in a dog park again. terrorized and defenseless is all she will remember when she goes to a dog park in the future. She will bite first and ask questions later in order to defend herself unless she is a submissive dog that will let other dogs walk all over her but it doesnt sound like that kind of dog.

Aha ,lol 2 ) the neutered male feeling the need to agress the unfixed male, relative to how many females are present… Hahahaaa just like in the bar shortly after midnight, I seem to recall… Hahahahaa But I learned those things and I’m very grateful. Interesting video on analyzing dog behavior. I would have liked to have seen how my dad's GS of 50 years ago would have behaved under those multiple dog encounters. I suspect that black GSD towards the end of the video and dad's Zarek would have had a major show down with Zarek totally dominating him. He was a big Alpha male who occasionally caused problems for dad due to his propensity for getting into fights with other dogs......which he would win. Best family dog ever......

I wish my dog would get along with other dogs! He’s just a jerk and wants to attack other dogs, for that matter he’ll try to attack about any animal. He’s a great dog as long as other animals aren’t around.

Going to a dog park in the first place is the first sign of stupidity, buying a GSD or Malinois is the second. Like... why? Are you in the special forces or something?

And being stupid enough to bring a defensive, aggressive dog to a dog park is just crazy. Go buy a poodle from the mall to bring to a dog park. Malis and GSD excell in many dog sports so for the right trainer/handler its not a bad choice but , a dog park ? Insane.

If you don't know how to train a German Shepherd, then you shouldn't own one. But, German Shepherds are excellent family dogs, if trained. With the way this world is going, it's not a bad idea to own one, if you train it, and don't treat it like a piece of furniture.

Just saying, when u enter the park, wait until they are calm to go in. As a reward for being calm submissive

then stuff happens and they become anything but calm submissive, Sounds like Caesar Milan BS for pet dogs. Malinois almost exclusively are not pets. I would never want a cal submissive dog or child for that matter either.

If you have a dog that is King Dick, there is no stopping it. That's the way dogs do it. Who is the boss ? do you destroy a dogs natural instincts ? I didn't stop it with my boy, but he stopped fights by showing he is King Dick.

Why are you not correcting this dog with an E collar? Allowing other dogs to correct your dog isn’t a good idea… in my opinion….

Because HUMANS don’t know THEIR boundaries and feelings. Dogs HAVE to correct eachother..humans do it to. If kids are playing and parents ALWAYS step in children won’t learn much and will grow up with problems. Whenever us kids had problems our parents let us sort it out ourselves unless they had to get involved in some situations, you should do the same with dogs. Letting dogs correct eachother teaches them other dogs body language which socializes them and makes them more behaved around other dogs, if you correct you could have an unintended consequence like making them fear interacting with other dogs at all as they don’t get our corrections fully. Only time you step in is when it get violent, otherwise hang back and allow them to learn

Because that's how dogs learn. They learn from eachother on what to do and what not to do. That's why it's important to socialize your dogs.
