​@wissy0062 I totally agree. No human can teach a dog more effectively than another dog can. Taking my dog to an emergency vet whilst covered in blood and yelping in pain is quite a traumatic experience which is why I get anxious whenever I hear a dog correcting another dog. I hope no-one ever had to go through that.

My first time going to a dog park i hadnt read or known the rules and brought treats for my puppies. We ended up grouping with other owners and about 8 or so other dogs all off leash except our puppies who were on leash since not fully trained yet. ( i brought treats to use the field space and dog safe area to train the puppies) Almost immediately another persons dog found the bag in my pocket and got some. I then heard one of the other owners mention nervously that her dog cant have solid foods cause he had a surgery recently for choking on a ball. I felt really bad and i hope he hadnt gotten any of the fallen treats. I havent brought treats again as i now know there are half a dozen reasons not to bring the treats. Not just aggression, but you never really know what another persons dog can or cant eat or what the owners are okay with you giving to their dogs

I have a husky, she is very aggressive and territorial with her stuff. Huskies aren’t really the best dog breeds to give treats or food around other dogs.

Not all huskies are like that. Mine shares his toys, treats and bed but he draws the line with his food plate. Just a couple of days ago my sister’s GSD stayed with us for a couple of days and she tried to go for my husky’s food and boy that was a bad idea, they fought and he ended up with a bruised paw but no major injuries. She did backed off at the end, and he was able to eat in peace so hopefully this won’t happen again

@@HuskyGoraidh Some dogs are on a diet, some can show bad behaviour... I always ask before giving a treat to a dog, and also try to allow the owner to say no without feeling guilty. For my dogs I prefer that people don't give anything because after one of them tends to go to strangers and ask for food u_u'

I have a Husky, not for novice owners, however they are scary smart, incredibly good watchdogs and we go on walks, hikes runs etc. off leash, he's trained and then some but helllls no would I bring him to a dog park...ever. His hackles go up so fast and he is like a mini wolf on crack so yup, nope.......good on you though, learning a lot!!!!!

My friend has a shelter mutt who has food aggression, Zoey (his Australian cattle dog) tried getting the bone from Layla and a fight broke out. Layla also get over excited and licks my dog Rylees lips continuously, I usually back Layla up and calm her, if I’m not doing this, I let Rylee correct her behavior

This happened to my sister when she was like 5 she was giving some of my dads roommates dogs some treats and the dog didn’t eat it so she went to grab it to give it to the other dog but the dog bit her it was her fault now she hates dogs the only dogs she has liked since then is our childhood dog who just passed rip Zeus and a dog we just met like last week she loved those dogs because they never barked ❤ we have lived our whole lives with dogs too she feels sad when we lose them it’s not like she’s heartless to them just that she doesn’t enjoy their company and stuff but yeah we have and dog now and she’s sleeping with me rn. And she’s (sister) now 15 no need to take pity on her she doesn’t deserve it 💀

Thank god there aren't any toys in the dog parks I am attending. Dogs often times start fighting over them. Treats are fine, but they need to be small, so the dogs swallow them quickly.

I remember when I had some meat for my staff puppy to make sure I could get recall on her when she got overly excited and wouldn't take the hints from other dogs. But what happened is they ganged up on her after I recalled her once. The next time they pushed her down a creek while she was trying to get back to me. Is that weird or normal? This was the first puppies from the mother so they were older and hadn't met before. The ones from the same pregnancy did not show this behaviour

Lots of dog owners just wanna give the good puppy a treat for being a good puppy. As you see here, the guy owns up for his mistake and understands he should not have done it. I also think it's not a good idea to give treats to other people's dogs as you never know what they are allowed to eat or allergic to, or if the owner has them on a specific diet or whatever. Even a medical issue could be a reason to monitor what your dog eats. (I actually made the mistake of bringing treats my first time at a dog park, and a nother dog got some from my pocket and so the dogs were all eating the few that fell on the ground. I then heard a lady say her dog can't have solid foods cause he just had a surgery for choking on a large ball toy. I don't think her dog got any but if he did it would have been my fault if he got injured.)

I LOVE including the video with the pit near the end. Shows that they really are just dogs like any other. They require good training, consistency and socializing since they are such a strong breed. But when that works in put in, you get one of the goofiest but playful dogs you will ever know. Sadly, too many don't put in the real work every dog requires for a properly trained and controlled dog. And I'm not talking just pits. ANY dog can have issues if they aren't corrected immediately. Pits just unfortunately have the bite of a crocodile with a high prey drive. So when they aren't stimulated properly or socialized enough, it leads to a lot of problems.

It’s not your fault, an owner should teach their pet not to do that, it is one of their responsibilities as an owner. And the owner should have called the husky the first time it nipped at the puppy.

Easier said than done. Resource guarding is common in dogs and a natural response, and it's more difficult to teach a dog not to guard when it comes to other animals. Teaching them to be tolerant around people is one thing, but it's typically easier because you can tell other people what to do and include them in your training, much harder to do that with other animals. I have this issue with my yorkie currently, best thing to do right now is to just not give him toys or food around other dogs. The husky owner didn't give their dog something to be possessive over, the guy did, and to be fair to him he admits his mistake, we're all human, it's not always easy to train your dog literally perfectly, and even people who are good at training and know dog body language like this guy clearly does can make mistakes too.
