@gabonchilirecipes8522
@gabonchilirecipes8522 3 жыл бұрын
Basically keeping your hands up is an amateur, very basic defense. A low level boxer will jab then bring his hands back up to block the counterpunch and then explode out of the high guard with another punch. A high level boxer will jab to bait the counterpunch, then slip and counter, leaving no need to take an extra moment to bring the hands up to block. For reference, you can watch Lopez vs Lomachenko, first half of the fight Lomachenko has his high guard up half the time and gets absolutely nothing done because of it. Second half of the fight he drops the high guard and actually tries to feint, slip, and throw punches and has a lot more success. Because moving your head off the line is more useful at the elite level than bringing your hands up is.

Bro from that comment alone everyone know you don't know shit about boxing probably never saw Adonis fighting in his prime. Caleb has a complete different style not even close to compare to Adonis he is a very slick fighter that uses his footwork and counter punching to prevent him from damage. Adonis was a power puncher using his jab effectively to set up his KO punch, Adonis had one punch knockouz power and Caleb has no power at all but very fast counter and combinations. All that said stick to a different sport and Canelo will stop Plant with a body shot inside 10 rounds.

Saul should just go to heavyweight to grab the belt he might have to weight till tyson fury leaves or slows down a bit but saul out of everyone right now has the most knowledge and skills he was already light heavy champ why not go right above that he has the skills for it and body is still strong enough he could beat aj and wilder ruiz might give him some trouble just because his hand speed but if he can move how he usually does he could beat ruiz fury is the only threat up there and once his legs start to go he wont be a threat the big baby guy couldnt handle saul i really hope he goes to heavyweight before old age takes him like all the greats

@@adamzitsch9027 bro u named basketball players. But I agree that Canelo is talented enough to win but there is a massive size difference. Canelo is 5'9 Tyson AJ and wilder r all 6'4 +. Size in boxing matters that why boxers r so picky, there's like 20 weight classes. Floyd made Canelo come down to 154 for a reason. Canelos farm atm is to small to make 200lbs and it wont be healthy for him to force his body to an unnatural weight. Look at what happened to GSP

@@paps.. I just named the basket ball guys because people said they were to small to do shit and in boxing sometimes size matters its usually when they see a fighter doesnt have the skills necessary to beat a bigger guy thats why only some boxers are multiple weight class champs and very few have went from the smaller classes to heavy saul has what it takes to go to heavy

Nah Canelo can not beat Fury or Joshua at heavyweight. Or Wilder or Usyk (if the belts change hands). He has a better shot at cruiserweight where the competition is a bit lower. He can probably beat Arsen Goulamirian there and get the WBA belt. Fury boxes circles around him, Wilder KOs him, AJ wins a split decision, and Usyk puts a boxing clinic on him.

This is gold. Guys he aint magical, he aint superman. OK he is a great athlete, but no. 1 reason he hits so well is technique. Perfect camera angle here to study him. So here's my takeaways. Throws jab almost like a lead hook. Look at his lead foot. Almost pivots. Look at his rear leg, moves almost in a circular motion around to his left, like a check hook mechanic. Also of course he distributing weight very quickly from back foot to front foot. That is jab 101, they teach you that in first lesson. But he is throwing it with a tiny bit of rotation to get power you would normally see in a hook, but in a jab. Mayweather also does that Ive seen. Prob maybe every good boxer does it, but for us amateurs, good to see. Jab doesn't need to be completely linear, can get that rotation in too

It's cool to see he has developed his own stance to work with his style and combinations, if you watch closely his shoulders aren't square over his feet (bad stance, amateur mistake) BUT he makes it work, see his jab hand shoulder is pulled behind his lead foot at the start of the sequence (thats how you know he's setting you up if he were your opponent) which would normally throw a person of balance by the second punch if they tried a 2 or especially a 3 punch combo, yet his double jab aligns his jab shoulder, center, over his lead foot, preparing him for a perfectly executed jab followed by a POWERFUL dominate hand cross. It's perfect. His initial stance makes him look like he's opened up, but the punches that follow the jab are maximum output, see the key to remember is for every punch you have to slip or defend your chances of getting tagged by the next punch increase significantly
