@@Canguroenglish Good afternoom, sir. Why "between linguist" instead among ? Thank you.
@brendaivelisse17065 жыл бұрын
As far as I know, you use BETWEEN when you are referring or comparing two things. Of the other side, the use AMONG is when you are referring or comparing three things or more. If you want to be sure, you can double check with English Grammar Rules.

👉 Hi Christian! @Canguro English, are you sure that "reading" 07:04 is an object? How come? I thought "to go" was an intransitive verb. When you say, "They went on strike to demand proper health measures," you cannot replace "strike" with a direct object pronoun (e.g. "They went on it") . I believed stative verbs, also known as verbs of feeling (and certain action verbs (also called dynamic verbs)) , were likely to take gerunds as their objects.

Istn't it that you decide to put the object in the middle or at the end if you want to lay weight on a special part of the sentence? Like if it is clear that we talk about my sister, but the question is what I should do to her, I would say "I pick my sister up", but if picking up is clear and the question is whoom, I would say "I pick up my sister."

Thank you so much. It's good to know that there's some kind of order to the nonsensical phrasal verbs. For spanish speakers, phrasal verbs are difficult to grasp. I've tried so hard, and the only phrasal-verb-like expression I could find was "venir abajo" as in "el edificio de vino abajo (se derrumbó)" I remember one of the first times i heard some phrasal verbs was the verb "print out". I had to hand in a paper but had it in a flashdrive. My teacher told me that I had to print it out. I immediately walked out of the classroom trying to find some printers right outside. I found none. By the way, is there any rule of thumb that gives you a broad idea of what the prepositions could mean? Some kind of educated guess? For example, I've heard people using UP as in getting or acquiring something: suit up or partner up. However, I don't know if we could generalize for most prepositions.
@gulperipolat49635 жыл бұрын
hello my Teacher all the videos of phrasal verbs of you have professional perspective, but I dont know how that could be better than as in now because I was not exactly able to match some examples that you tell us with what my intellect is, I think my imagination might be weak or my perception of 3D might be weak , also my teacher I m confused about ''preposition +wh clauses '' for example like '' through which about which, for what '' you know there is a preposition +wh clause at the begining or middle of the sentence especially while I was trying to understand these sentences ,they make me force , could you help me with this because I would like to understand those sentences easily and quickly thank you for excellent videos and for you
