i followed you from that contest about old english .about the grammer which you talked here and that just a few people talk like that so who is wrong and who is right/i think those small amount of people is right and if all of us were like them ,at the moment we only had one language with no even a dialect or accent so all of us could have understood each other many wars which started about making money but based on differences of people never held from the beginin, just like religion.we all know that many of wars happend just because some people wanted to earn more money but they used people's believes,if those people( i mean no one) believed in any religion then no one could make war between them based on their religions.so muses was a bad person who made a thing that caused war in the future and jesus was a bad person to o because he made another religion from the previous religion that was available before (also mohammad and islam) when you were listening to old english you could understand this more better that they are all the same and little changes during the time causes a lot of diffrences that makes old version completely useless and also many other diffrent things comes that kind of no familiar at all for new people.so instead of put rammer aside or change a word to another word or make pronounce change on it in our little socials like family and frinds(which causes big changes during the time)its better to be serious about some things instead of making fun of them. i understand the beauty of each language but i think we could make much joyfull funs from other things instead of make fun with word and changes them and make a new language which causes a lot of wars and murderers during the ages.spranto is the key for this problem

Christian is so smart! I agree with everything he said. I just had a toeic test the day before yesterday, and I got 635, but I could do it better if it wasn't so fast. I understood all the sentences, written and spoken, but I didn't had time to answer it, so I got so down because of it. But when I speak, I can communicate quite well, but I failed on the text. It depends on what your student may want from you as a teacher. If they want or need the exam certificate, then that's what they need to be prepared for as a priority, although not exclusively. Exam preparation is as much about strategy and exam technique as it is about everyday English. Some people might say that it would be better not to have such a narrow minded approach to educational qualifications, but for many students that is what they are faced with. If a student doesn't need or want officially recognised certificates of achievement, then there will be more scope for a wider approach to teaching and allow the teacher to focus more on why the student wants to improve their English and how are they going to use it in their lives.

@@redme7828 most English native speakers know very little about grammar, although they use it unconsciously. Many native English speakers also make mistakes in grammar, spelling and pronunciation. As long as we are able to communicate and understand eachother, then that is what is the most important aspect. Probably only lawyers and politicians need to use and understand grammar correctly, that way they can twist meanings and mislead people more effectively...

You said in Jan of 2021 that you were going to make videos with truly practical content, and as much as I liked this video, I found it devoid of practical content, being more of a meditative, almost new-agey, touchy-feely, contemplative mantra. If you imagine yourself speaking to an audience of non-native English speakers, who at the same time truly grasp this video, then you are making videos for those who are already rather sophisticated English speakers. That is, you are making videos for those who have already overcome the systemic obstacles you are railing against.

Thank you for presenting that but in Everything there’s a step and that step is curriculum. Not everyone can practice English with speaking as first step in order to this thank to the grammar books that contains sentences structure matching them with vocabulary. I myself improved my English because of these books & the teachers who presented them . I tried before to learn from movies and listening to English books but it didn’t work until I bought grammar books and enrolled to English online classes. That’s my point according to my experience.

And it's way more important to actually make yourself heard than be anxious about whether what you say is correct 100% in grammar, pronunciation etc. Again thanks for the powerful message, I will definitely share this video with others.

What a vídeo! That's something I've been trying to make my students to understand. Before any Right or Wrong phrases, what's the most importante is communication! Once they loose the fear of speaking, they can start polish the way they speak. Thanks for the video! You Rock! 👏👏

I love your videos not because I consider you as a good English teacher but because there are interesting philosophical ideas in every lesson. Thank you for what you're doing!

I enjoy your lesson and your philosophy! I am 38 and live in Belarus. Currently I have started learning English again😂, because of my new job. And I would like to thank you! I think everyone who learns English feels a kind of pressure inside. I always focus on my pronunciation and rules I know to say sentences correctly, but your words make me feel free. You said very important words for a person who can hear you. Present time requires somebody who can solve problems and doesn't give up, and give in. We are on our way, and only ourselves can make this way better!
